RUSSELL BRAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF!

I would seriously rather hammer my teeth into my head than watch that.

KayHarker · 30/06/2008 15:49

loving the self-harm theme appearing off the back of Russell-Brand-as-Doctor

I'm good with an older Doctor.

john sergeant would make a great dr who, i think. if we're going left-field.

david walliams can't act. his eyes are too small.

Nagapie · 30/06/2008 15:51

If Boris Johnson found being London Mayor was too much...

gizmo · 30/06/2008 15:51

There would be a mass outbreak of inexplicable injuries striking oohhh, around 2 million adult watchers, Kay. Mostly caused by chewing furniture, I imagine.

More seriously...someone older, not particularly pretty, but a really, really good actor?

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 15:52

Noooo - not Russell Brand, please no.

I wonder (since this is, after all, ostensibly aimed at kids) whether S-J's boy, whatsisface, might come up with a solution, him being so super-intelligent and all. Just because he was told to stay at her house doesn't mean he did.

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 15:53

I do wish they hadn't 'used up' John Simm. Ooh - maybe Philip Glenister...

youknownothingofthecrunch · 30/06/2008 15:53

I think Ian McKellen would make a good doctor.

Aitch · 30/06/2008 15:55

john sergeant, gizmo. i'm telling ya. look, he's even got his own panama.

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 15:55

Tim Spall? V good actor. Quirky.

Aitch · 30/06/2008 15:55

oh yes, tim spall. although he's recently become even more ugly.

gizmo · 30/06/2008 15:55

I've quite a soft spot for David Morrissey, but I can't quite place him in the brainiac mode that's needed.

Aitch · 30/06/2008 15:56

too reminiscent of CE, i think.
what about that little spud-nosed fella who always plays tony blair?

gizmo · 30/06/2008 15:56

Actually, yes, Tim Spall would be great but sadly I suspect might represent too great a swing away from the luuurve interest end of things.

Aitch · 30/06/2008 15:57

he could preside over a love interest, though.
i do want donna to be reunited with her fella from the library, btw.

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 15:58

TS might not be able to cope with all the running. Dunno though, might be fitter than we think.

KayHarker · 30/06/2008 15:58

faints clean away at the idea of Glenister

OP posts:
gizmo · 30/06/2008 15:58

Michael Sheen?

Hmmm, possibly...although I could go with much older - Charles Dance type generation.

gizmo · 30/06/2008 15:59

I thought Donna had recovered from being parted from fella in the library quite well, judging by her reaction to Jack!

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 15:59

(thought you'd like that suggestion, KayHarker)

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 16:00

David Jason? I know, too old, but would probably be fab.

Aitch · 30/06/2008 16:01

is no one taking my john sergeant suggestion seriously? he was a comic actor before going into journalism (well, he was loosely part of beyond the fringe). he'd make a lovely twinkly eyed grandpa figure while his assistants ran around falling in love etc.

youknownothingofthecrunch · 30/06/2008 16:01

Ioan Gruffudd? Or is he too film-starry now? Or too young?

KayHarker · 30/06/2008 16:01

well, there was all that gubbins about CE being replaced with Bill Nighy, who still might be quite fun.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 30/06/2008 16:02

Yes, Bill Nighy could work.
