She's 86, so I suppose she's allowed to take it a bit easier. Harrumph. She's been great. Her replacement has to be able to hold her own against Paul Hollywood. Any ideas?

Actually Nigel Slater would have been brilliantly bad. I can imagine him and PH massively getting on one another's nerves.

As I said, I like Nigella, and I enjoy her obviously arch TV persona, but I don't immediately see how it's going to work with PH, who I think is an oaf (and an oaf with a habit of affairs with fellow-judges when they aren't grandes dames of cookery...)

God love Nigel Slater. I always feel like he goes on TV with gritted teeth.

I think PH has mellowed greatly over the past few years. He displays humour now, and an ability to laugh at himself.
I think they'll get on well.

haha agree - I love Nigel Slater, but I can’t imagine him having to judge and rank people - he’s such a “just feed yourself happily” kind of cook.
