She's 86, so I suppose she's allowed to take it a bit easier. Harrumph. She's been great. Her replacement has to be able to hold her own against Paul Hollywood. Any ideas?

I don’t watch BOTP precisely because Cherish is just mean. Bake Off is warm and kind and I wouldn’t watch it if Cherish was a judge.
I would be happy with Nancy as she can hold her own with Paul. I also liked Caroline Waldgrave when she covered for Prue last year. I like the idea of Nadia but wonder if she could manage Paul.

Oh please..not Nigella... She would be all over breathy and gushing!🤮

I used to like Nadiya til she threw her teddy out of her pram and accused her channel of axeing her show because of her skin colour.

Monica Galletti! She has real “cheffy” credentials and in the hotels series she did handled Giles Coren really well (so could handle Paul!) but is also soft and warm enough when engaging with the people on the show! She’s also up for a good laugh!

Nadiya Sawalha Loose Women? She’s had cool books etc and would keep PH in his place. Very funny too.

Oh not Nadiya, I find her too serious and lacking in humour, the show is comical and I just can’t see nadiya doing that. Or jiving with Paul

it needs to be someone not quite so serious. Don’t think it needs to be a woman, just both bakers can work together to bring some humour to it as well as credentials. There isn’t many to be fair.

I’m hoping andi oliver - she’s warm, relevant and I think she’d vibe with Noel - although she already does another show so may not be available.

Not for me she’s not. I simply can’t imagine her engaging in the silly jokes and innuendo bake off is famed for.

I don’t think Nadiya is robust enough to stand up to Paul Hollywood. I do like Jo Brand, but I think her “look how much cake I’ve eaten” line would get a bit tedious after a while.

Oh we still really enjoy it and it has high viewing figures so I doubt they will kill something successful. Pru was great but not pivotal.

Ravneet Gill on JBBO is wonderful with the contestants (as is Liam Charles, former GBBO contestant himself, together they are brilliant and the show is often better than GBBO because of the kids taking part too) think Ravneet would be a great pairing with PH, but I’m sorry to see Prue Leith finally step back, what an incredible working life she’s had.
