So Celia Stick bit the dust
As Ray failed to quell his disgust
Now John is the prey
Our Kev needs to slay
And if April goes too I'm not fussed

I did it. I watched four straight hours of Coronation Street 😬

DrAmanitaPhalloides · 04/01/2026 02:48

Celia needed to be found out and had a face off with the Dingles and Ross before dying, so annoyed.

RaraRachael · 04/01/2026 08:17

It's just like the John story. It all built up to Mack being kidnapped then they let John escape and now we've got this nonsense with him coming back, unseen by anyone of course.

It's like an author writing a book that can't think of an ending.

Exactly. The scriptwriters should read this thread for inspiration . We could provide them with plenty of ideas.

Well done, keep watching it, it’s good, as is the thread on MN.

Middlemarch123 · 04/01/2026 11:09

Any of you who don’t watch Corrie, or have our lovely @JaneJeffer ‘s stamina, Corrie is on for thirty minutes tomorrow at 7.30, Corriedale then picks up events at 8.00 until 9.00. Might help to follow Corriedale better to watch Corrie first x

JaneJeffer · 04/01/2026 12:07

I thought I would be fast forwarding a lot of it but I actually enjoyed it and cried about the dementia choir at the wedding. Such an awful disease. I laughed my head off when Maggie said she was going to learn a new language and someone asked which one and Todd said English 😂

Middlemarch123 · 04/01/2026 14:36

Ignore my previous post about timings for tomorrow, just checked and I got it wrong.

Emmerdale is on at 7.00, Corrie at 7.30, Corriedale at 8.00 x Two hours! Oh ITV, you’re really spoiling us😂

RaraRachael · 04/01/2026 17:58

So should I watch Emmerdale then Corrie followed by Corriedale so I've a vague idea of what's happening?

Yes that’s what I’m doing. I have watched the last few episodes of Corrie to get an idea. It’s been funny hearing things like “thanks Belle” on a phone call.

I don’t go back to work until Tuesday. I said to son I want everything done and ready for school/work so I can sit and luxuriate in two hours of soap nonsense 😆

Jitterybugs2 · 04/01/2026 18:47

Just in case this is of interest to anyone. I noticed on my tv box there’s another programme on at 9pm tomorrow called Corriedale:Backstage Pass on itv3.

Says it’s packed with cast interviews and exclusive access, the ultimate insider look at what happens behind the scenes when 2 soap worlds collide.

It’s all too much, thanks @Jitterybugs2 , I’ll watch this. Think I’m going to watch live and tape in case I get phone calls which interrupt x

Yes, definitely, you’re strong, you can do it xx

Middlemarch123 · 04/01/2026 18:57

So I was reading an interesting interview in The Telegraph, about the mash up, and apparently it was driven by falling viewing numbers and lots of negative feedback from Emmerdale fans. Even old scriptwriters said that Emmerdale needs to go back to farming, community and violence should be minimal and resolved quickly. They hope that half hour episodes going forward, and concluding existing storylines will take it back to basics. I could link the article, but it contains spoilers, so won’t. But it’s online if anyone is interested.

JaneJeffer · 04/01/2026 19:01

If Corriedale doesn’t start with Never Tear Us Apart playing I’m not going to watch.

That’s how I discovered the extra programme. I was checking my box to see if it was set to record the Corriedale episode just in case some of the family phone in the middle of it.

Hi all, happy New Year 🎊

Have watched the last week and glad to see Celia is no more, looking forward to Corriedale as I've been watching Corrie too.

I'm hoping the new shorter week will mean less of the crime in the dales and also Corrie and getting back to more normal everyday things and some humour ☺️

I too welcome this news that they're getting the message about crime and violence turning viewers off.

I think maybe the reception Kev got for his comedy capers made them realise that they need more funny scenes.

JaneJeffer · 04/01/2026 20:18

Happy New Year @Ellenanora7 hope you and yours are keeping well

Thanks for the new thread tellingbone.
Happy New Year all. Just spent ages catching up on the previous thread and agreeing with posts then found this new thread. We really do get through them quickly!

JaneJeffer · 04/01/2026 20:31

I reckon this thread will be full by the end of Corriedale @BooseysMom 😀

Jitterybugs2 · 04/01/2026 20:35
