E4. That was a good one. The new boss is very clumsy around patience. But she’s getting better

love their little romance

Not sure if lead actress has autism but she plays the part so well.

Apparently she does.

My nephew absolutely love the York Railway Museum. He's going to be quite offended by the sacrilege of someone being murdered there.

So glad to have found this thread, but have only seen Ep 1 so far so am place marking to come back and read once I've caught up.

Delighted there is a second series. Just loved the first one.

DH and I are enjoying season 1. It didn't really spoil things for me by having seen a bit of series 2.

I've just gone to add Astrid: Murders in Paris to my watchlist and I see that season 5(!) is going to be released on More4 on 23 January.

JewelleryCat · 17/01/2026 10:56

@Madcats it is? Oh that’s so exciting!

I watched all of series 1 when it was on originally.
That's why I'm excited for series 2 Smile

I've only watched Ep 1 of Series 2 so far

I liked the last ep of this new series as Patience was so watchable but wasn't so keen on the one this week as it seemed disjointed and we didn't know more about the 'neighbour' until getting on for the end.

It almost seemed like it had to be written in a rush so it didn't really have much of a story . Hope the rest will be up to the standard of all the previous ones .

ChurchWindows · 17/01/2026 15:21

Absolutely gripped by this show having worked my way through S1 and half of S2 over the last week.

I wish they made more of York though. It's such a beautiful place with fabulous architecture, history and real magic. It could be a main character like Oxford in Morse or New York in S&TC but it is almost an after thought. Other than that though, I adore it.

Episode five tonight

The social media lady annoys me

JewelleryCat · 21/01/2026 21:29

And yes, Elliot is correct. He is an idiot

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/01/2026 21:41

She is kind of hard work

a contract sorting out relationship

OP posts:
JewelleryCat · 21/01/2026 22:05

I get why Patience would want one though. A relationship can be difficult being NT but it can be even more challenging being autistic

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/01/2026 22:23

Very true

JewelleryCat · 22/01/2026 00:37

And Elliot is trying so hopefully they can patch things up

I can’t rem about patience’s family

her dad died and her mum left is that right so lived with the godfather

the found out the other Episode that she was alive but then dead

the beginning sees the mum giving her breakfast at maybe 8/10yrs so does she then walk away

why didn’t she come back once knew dad had died

OP posts:
RecordBreakers · 22/01/2026 15:32

From memory which isn't my strongest point I think the Mum walked out when she was a little girl and she was raised by her Dad, until he died, then her Godfather has looked after her.

Then in this series, she found where she had been living and went to meet her, only to find she had died.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/01/2026 18:52

I was wondering why she left esp as shows her in the flashbacks at the beginning of each Episode

OP posts:
RecordBreakers · 23/01/2026 00:02

I think the episode where the daughter of the murder victim was autistic, and throughout the episode various people kept saying how hard it was, looking after her all the time, coming so soon after trying to find out more about her Mum and have been hoping to meet her (and probably ask her Mum that) was very much part of this part of the storyline.
Patience herself is wondering that, and wondering if she was (is?) so difficult to live with.

Of course, the fact she is in the early stages of her relationship layered on that, and wondering if she is difficult to live with / spend time with, also feeds in.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2026 00:03

I’m confused. Even mow so now I’ve seen 6

is joy meant to be her dead mum ?
