That's a really nice sequence, Nigel walks in, man with an 80s (?) style tracksuit top, takes a photo with a polaroid camera, other extras are a bit retro ( including a guy with a bad wig! The Vic set has been redressed - different wallpaper, curtains and upholstery...

So lovely to see Pat in the time-travelled Vic!

Also: the Annie actress is adorable.

Everyone seemed extraordinarily tall too. I don’t remember that from the 80’s/90’s whenever it was supposed to be.

Yep, so lovely to see Pattt .. especially as it’s their anniversary year and Angie had a brief part in February.
I wanted to see Nige’s film! Lexi was good , it’s nice when she isn’t being too bratty.
Annie does look as if she could be Linda and Max’s child. Elaine’s outfits are even more outrageous these days! They do suit her, but not practical for running a business really.

Is Sam having any kind of treatment yet? Did she get the results back ? How do these people live without any income ?
At least Julie mentioned money today around care homes.

I thought it was a good episode today. I'm surprised Elaine let Max take Annie to the grotto, I suppose she is distracted but still very foolish. She's still wearing her nighties which always makes me laugh.

I thought the way Ross and Zack were standing behind Viki was good, them forming the triangle but it is so ridiculous to think that Zack is so desperate for her.

I had the impression that E laine thought he was meeting Linda at the grotto as well. Max made her feel bad by mentioning the reviews and she knows she needs to make this business work and recoup some money, so her eye was off the ball.
However, he was wrong to tell Annie without Linda being there too :( out of order.
She is a sweetie , but poor soul having him as your dad eh !

I’m probably wrong re Elaine , but her face at the end was a bit ‘ oh no , I’ve been duped ‘

I know that Vicki isn’t ‘ the stalker ‘ but she would make a good one! Plus how lucky is she with two nice looking men after her as well. Not that Ross has a wonderful personality and messed up with Joel , but they clearly get on and he seems to want her back
Zack needs to look elsewhere though!

Max did say he was meeting Linda at the grotto. Elaine didn't bother to text Linda to confirm it though, just let him wander off.

So Max is back to being a shady waste of space I’m double quick time. He gets good news yet he has to smash everything up. Annie is adorable though.

I am so fed up with yet another round of angry Dr Evil. And Zoe couldn’t even drop a box without making it look like Acorn Antiques.😂

Why the hell did whispering Julie tell Nigel he hit her. How did she think that was going to play out.🙄

Max is still whispering isn’t he!
He is annoying , why can’t he speak normally ?

I agree he has livened things up. I hope they aren't going to carry on with him causing aggravation to Linda, it looked as if he was trying to be a pleasant human being ... then this.

I was surprised that he told Annie without Linda being there. Really bad :(
There wasn’t any real rush to tell her.
Plus why didn’t Ollie go and see Santa too?
Max was all over him once when Ollie was diagnosed with autism , yet now he is only interested in Annie! I know Ollie is 9 , but some like to go with younger siblings ( if they don’t believe or whatever the situation may be around Santa beliefs etc)

Ollie is surplus to requirements, no one is interested in Ollie now!

Awful of Max to tell Annie, but that is Max for you. And we will now have the whole of Christmas with him drunk and ranting at Lauren, Oscar and Jack because they didn't tell him, poor Max the victim😢

Oscar is far more mature and sensible, and he's 18!

Yep, he’ll find out that the others knew about Annie and kick off.
The fast forwards seem to indicate a wedding for Max, but who would want him ? He is snarling and nasty and thinks his a ‘ good dad ‘ for paying the charity money to help Lauren!
His done so many bad and dubious things though. He is seriously flawed!

Poor Annie. Max has to make it all about himself, doesn’t he? Banging on about ‘his legal rights’ (ummm, no…I doubt you’re on her birth certificate!) with no thought given to how confusing it would be to spring a new dad on a 4 yr old!

I’m just not buying Zack mooning around after Vicky. It’s such a silly storyline.

And Jay staying with his imaginary girlfriend up north instead of spending Christmas with Lexi, who is like a daughter to him and who he promised Lola he would always take care of? I don’t think so! I know they can’t bring the actor back, but for his goodness sake come up with a believable story!

Ghost of Pat at the end was quite nostalgic, although she really should’ve been puffing on a B&H to make it authentic. (I liked Ghost of Ang when Sharon was trapped in the collapsed Vic).

The Jay thing isn’t good, but at least they mentioned him and maybe he’ll return with a new head ?what he said in Blackpool for the strictly show came at a time of so many other scandals and they probably just thought it best to let him go.

I wonder if they are going to recast Jay, or if he will just never be seen again.

In Corrie the actor who played Todd (Bruno Langley) was sacked and they did bring Todd back with a new head but it took about three years. The recast has been very successful.

A new head Jay would be alright I suppose.
Chelsea was re cast and it worked.
At least they have someone to visit now if they want to be written out of it I suppose. I wonder if Jay will sell the car lot to Max ?

Oh yes of course, Chelsea. She is great, better than the original Chelsea who I had forgotten about till you mentioned it!

Surely Max will run the car lot, I can't think what else he'll do.

If he going to stay at the boutique hotel Max will need a job! Don’t know what he was doing before!
Maybe Lauren won’t want him there , but running the car lot makes sense to me. Unless he ends up working for Ian!

The original Chelsea was sassy and a bit naughty.
The new Chelsea is much nicer, especially since she had Jordan and that terrible time with Gray !
