Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Agree the Jay thing could have been handled better. As PP said no way would he leave Princess Lexi (she's been through so much) who he promised to look after for a woman he's just met.

I'm finding the Max stuff all very repetitive. How many times has he went away, came back, declared that he's changed and wants to be a good dad, shags someone he shouldn't then buggers off again. You can predict the script.

The Jasmine, Zoe My Boy, Dr Evil thing is beyond boring now. The least said about Zicki the better.

the80sweregreat · 22/12/2025 20:16

It was five minutes in today and Zoe said ‘ my boy ‘ !
At least if he shows up we can be spared this! Although I can’t see that happening for a while.
Although she’ll probably move on to ‘ my girl ‘ once she finds out Jasmine is her ( dead , not dead ) daughter.
Can you imagine if any of this was real ? Although the idea that Zack is mooning over Vicki is even more unbelievable too!

StupidHappyClocks · 22/12/2025 21:42

E-Laine wafting around her ‘boutique’ b&b in a negligee, drinking Prosecco for breakfast is giving brothel vibes.

Snapespeare · 22/12/2025 10:06

Popped in to say ' PAAAAAT!'

That's a really nice sequence, Nigel walks in, man with an 80s (?) style tracksuit top, takes a photo with a polaroid camera, other extras are a bit retro ( including a guy with a bad wig! The Vic set has been redressed - different wallpaper, curtains and upholstery...

I think I might need my eyes testing as I think The Vic looks exactly the same now. Considering it blew up, to me it’s looks the same as it’s always has. I think they missed a real opportunity with a set redesign!

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 22/12/2025 22:55

I can’t remember Ant-neeee from the first time round, I think he just easy to forget. Did he have anger issues back then?

Eastie77Returns · 22/12/2025 23:04

Peacock Towers or whatever it’s called is definitely giving a brothel and Elaine looks like a Madam so🤷🏽‍♀️ Max must have plenty of money to stay there since he was able to magic £3k out of thin air for Lauren.

Jay storyline is beyond ridiculous. They should have said he’d had a devastating accident which prevented him from travelling (and we could have been rid of awful Lexi and Callum for a few weeks when they go to visit him) then just bring him back with a new head.

Ian’s house is the new Tardis with Kathy, Harvey, Ross, Peter, Lauren and the boys now all living there.

I will scream if I hear myson, see Jasmine staring wistfully at the Vic or watch Dr Evil’s atrocious attempt at ‘acting’ angry and downing Patrick’s rum one more time.

the80sweregreat · 22/12/2025 23:17

Peacock towers! Love this!
It is a bit ( how I imagine anyway ) a brothel to look like inside! Maybe a more ‘ upmarket ‘ one.
linda’s old head mum was much more tasteful ..
At least they had a few customers apart from Max , who must be rich to stay there without a job !

NowNumber5 · 22/12/2025 23:19

It's more boudoir than bougie

the80sweregreat · 22/12/2025 23:19

Antnee let his brother take the rap for his driving offenses ( or something) but I don’t remember him being particularly horrible or nasty before.
I don’t remember him much though to be fair, but he did sleep with Kat and Zoe at one stage.

doodlydo · 23/12/2025 07:29

Lovely to see PAAAT! All we need is Frank's twirling bow tie to flutter around the Vic like a butterfly.

Southeastdweller · 23/12/2025 07:36

I was quite unaffected by today’s dementia themed episode. Another boo boo from the current crappy executive producer.

OP posts:
youarebeingsoextrarightnow · 23/12/2025 07:39

It reminded me a little bit of the shining when he walked into the Vic

Meredusoleil · 23/12/2025 08:19

I thought the ending with Pat was rather a let down tbh. I was expecting more of an impact!

Shellingbynight · 23/12/2025 08:20

@Southeastdweller I haven't yet watched but I am expecting to have the same reaction unfortunately. Nigel's storyline started well, but it started falling apart badly when the current producer decided to have him do a hit and run.

(South I did give in and buy the very expensive Radio Times! It is worth it as I would have missed some things I would like to watch.)

cramptramp · 23/12/2025 08:37

Barry!!!

cramptramp · 23/12/2025 09:01

I’m not a sentimental person but today’s episode made me cry. The actor that plays young Phil is so good. He’s not why I was crying though.

Snapespeare · 23/12/2025 09:02

SING IT BAZZAAAAAH!

Southeastdweller · 23/12/2025 09:38

I must admit it was good to see the again actors playing young Phil and Grant, they’re good actors and brilliantly cast.

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 23/12/2025 11:48

Young Phil and Grant , so good.
That was a hard watch though.

StupidHappyClocks · 23/12/2025 11:55

I don’t usually watch EE early, but watched it this morning with a mince pie and a coffee (it’s Christmas, innit!😆)

The Barry actor got a nice plug for his Barryoke business in, didn’t he?

Wish we’d seen more of Pat.

I really like the young Phil & Grant, too. Young Phil especially is eerily good!

I actually really liked the take on dementia today. I usually hate dementia storylines on tv, in books etc - too painful, after seeing my grandmother’s decline years ago. But I thought this episode encapsulated so much about dementia from the ‘sufferer’s’ perspective - the mysterious way the past and present become jumbled and time stops making sense, the strange moments of clarity and then complete confusion, the outbursts of awful anger and fear but also those moments when they’re ’not here’ (where are they?).

I found it really poignant and quite beautiful, and I don’t say that often about good ol’ depressing Enders. I felt quite teary when Phil came round to the idea of a care home at the end. I even warmed to whispering Joo-leh.

On a lighter note - my main takeaway from today’s episode was a massive nostalgia for 1980s Christmases, especially the pubs! The excitement in the air, the tinsel and foil decorations, The Power of Love’ blasting at last orders, even the fag smoke .

I realise I have just written an essay on an EE episode. I’m definitely in holiday mode 🤣

the80sweregreat · 23/12/2025 11:59

I am in bits ! Such a poignant episode.
So lovely to see Pat and Barry.

thisoldcity · 23/12/2025 12:47

I haven't watched today's yet so I'm looking forward to it now! I loved seeing Pat at the end of yesterday's.

thisoldcity · 23/12/2025 12:52

I'm very sorry that Jay isn't going to return and as pp have said, it doesn't make sense that the story is he's with a new girlfriend. He was rock solid supporting Lola and Lexi, so it is all wrong. I love the acting that Jay brought to EE as well, just very natural and believable, even when it was a huge dramatic scene.

Elaine is perfect for running the new brothel'n'peacock-themed boutique hotel. Can you imagine booking that for a weekend away in London and walking into that claustrophobic front room? I hope we have some unsuspecting tourists turn up at some point.

the80sweregreat · 23/12/2025 14:26

Would be funny to have some cameos of celebs staying at the famous boutique ‘Peacock towers’ ! It becomes the hottest place to stay ..
Robbie Williams once went in the Vic to take a call !
( also Boris Johnson for a pint)

Fantasea · 23/12/2025 14:37

I thought it was a really good episode today and had a little tear for Nigel. The young Phil and Grant are so good, great casting and acting. The one playing young Phil just is Phil!

There were some rumours a while back that Phil would get together with Julie, but I just don't see it happening. However, we are supposed to believe that Zack is desperate for Vicki so anything is possible! Perhaps when Sharon is back, he will come to his senses.
