I thought it was good, but would you have armed police for not actual murder ? They must have had evidence, yet he is out?

Perhaps Oscar and Jasmine? That would explain Patrick saying to Oscar that he is a Trueman now, and why the baby is in Jack's house - it would be a mini Branning too.

Penny was with Vincent this NYE. A pregnancy would be due around September time , the baby was in a Moses basket, so may be their baby ?
Or Ricky has not learnt about contraception still or Amy’s child. So many possibilities.

Google says Chelsea is 39, which seems about right as she was late teens / early 20s when I was watching it 20 years ago. Google says Denise is 56.

I hope that Kat and Alfie were just not shown because they need to be vague. Ian kept saying ‘ top doller’ but it was being held in the pub!

I was glad to see Nicola as I think she’s been a great addition to the show. Makes me wonder if she’s going to keep the baby.

It could be Penny's baby. Whoever the parents are, they aren't around or Jack wouldn't be looking after Ethan. (Who looked after him when he ran off to the police station?). Looking at the state of Jack I think something has happened to the mother of the baby, probably Penny.

80s, there was a lot of talk to Ian about 'why would you be best man after what he's done' and Ian saying it doesn't bother him, which could imply it is Cindy. But I think there will be a huge dollop of red herrings and hardly any of what we saw will actually make much sense in a year's time. It's just like the Zoe plot, far too much slung at the wall to see what sticks.

Didn't Lauren make a comment to Oscar when he couldn't do his tie about "you and you know who" or something like that?

I’m hoping Oscar has become friends again with Patrick (which I think could be a lovely positive story) rather than Oscar getting with Jasmine on a permanent basis… actually scratch that - I’m praying not hoping because a year of her I don’t think I can cope with on top of these past seven months!

I am three episodes behind so no idea what’s going on (will catch up tomorrow!)…but could Oscar be a Truman because MySon has turned up and they’re an item? Oscar is bisexual isn’t he?

Also wanted to add that I love this thread, too! It’s my favourite MN thread 😊. In ‘real life’ people are usually incredulous that I ‘still watch Eastenders?!?!’. It’s nice to have you lot to natter to about the ins and outs of EE and the absolutely ridiculous zany plots 😆

This doesn’t explain the police after Max, Lauren and Oscar being taken etc but I thought it was a good shout.

Lauren only called the police because she washt aware that it was to do with murder..
Clearly the police haven’t any evidence as they let him go, yet did all that to catch him and didn’t surround the back of the house either !

What if pregnant woman isn’t anyone we know and not actually pregnant with Max’s child.

I can never tell which house is which , unless it’s the one with the pineapple front and steepish stairs where gray lived and Kim before..Not sure who lives there now?
Anyway. Seems lots of drama pre all this with kids being kidnapped ( possibly by gloved gun man ) and max rescuing them. Which is what I think happens ,,but why ? Drug deals gone wrong ?

The pub window was being boarded up , so I feel there was a seige at the pub and Max was the hero rescuing the children. He may have done bad things prior to this though of course , they all seem to hold a grudge..

All very strange.

Max was in bed with the pregnant woman so presumably there is a sexual relationship. He was in the house next to the Peacock Palace wasn't he? I don't know who lives there.

It was farcical with everyone being so careful to say 'The Bride', and not mentioning the name of Oscar's partner. They have deliberately left it open so that anything could happen with a whole range of characters. They won't be sure when Lacey will return so have left it so that it could be a random in bed with him.

The most ridiculous thing was Max running away from the police at every turn, considering he claimed he knew nothing. And they don't send a team of armed police to arrest you, and then release you after three no comments.

Jake has waited 20 years for Chrissie to come out of prison, he drove her to the Square , he sent her many texts while she was in the car waiting for Jsmin.
He is capable of getting hold of a gun.
Lauren would recognise him when she went into the hall .

He would maybe be the reason for the Armed Police , he would be 'known'

No way would be accept Chrissie moving on with Max Branning !

Whoever is the mother of Ethan must get pregnant soon to allow time for the baby to be born, be 'saved' by Max and sleeping in a cot at Jack's. Possibly whatever happened to cause the boarded up window at the Vic = the death of his mother (and Jack's depression).

I said on the other thread that maybe this was also a flash back as well as a forwards one.
Just to mess with our heads. Plus to go to such lengths with the police they must have had some evidence surely ? Then they let max go!
Did someone else intervene that wasn’t shown ?

What would be flashbacked though - Max was wearing the same wedding suit the whole episode.
