That's nice of Lewis.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 10/12/2025 13:39

Yes, that is nice.

Coffeeishot · 10/12/2025 13:59

Good for him dragging down a woman who is just doing a job to entertain us on a Saturday night is absolutely ridiculous, and people going for Amber should have a word with themselves!

CardigansOfTheGalaxy · 10/12/2025 14:08

He's a very eloquent, calm bloke, isn't he? Very likeable.

KimberleyClark · 10/12/2025 14:08

That is lovely of Lewis.

He is. It is a shame he went.people were invested in him but the judges voted for Amber who.was better on Saturday.

People are absolutely ridiculous about Strictly. He's probably got a ton of offers and increased his profile as a resukt of Strictly. The dance looked terrible on TV and was far too complicated for him to do- ringer or not. Its hardly Ambers fault that the public didnt vote for him. They didnt vote for her either! Some people need to get a life.

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 10/12/2025 14:33

He does seem a genuinely nice person.

I hear that George fans are rabid on TikTok and attacking everybody else. But I don't have TikTok (again, am old) so it might not be true. I don't think there's any suggestion that George is encouraging it, though. Some fan groups are just very... intense.

Some "fans" are too much i am also old and don't really follow people like younger people do and its like mob mentality with some of them.

I think when you are brought up like Lewis by a strong mum and with 5 or 6 sisters , you have to have a pretty strong sense of respect coupled with a good sense of self . The fact that eh went on a different path from his brothers shows a healthy approach to life personally and within his very supportive family.

TennisWithDeborah · 10/12/2025 16:25

Very gracious of Lewis and the right thing to do (although it shouldn’t have been required)

RainbowBagels · 10/12/2025 16:28

I agree with his points. If the judges didn't think either of them deserved to be in the DO why did they only have 3 points between the top and bottom? Apart from Craig they fling 9's and 10's around and then have nowhere to go.
However Brendan and James Jordan come across as bitter and obsessed with a show they left. It must feel crap for the ones left to have the judges moaning about the DO after they themselves marked them the same and actually criticised Lewis more, and then people saying they don't deserve to be there. Its an entertainment show. People were more entertained by the others and wanted to vote for them.

LittleBitofBread · 10/12/2025 16:47

Lewis has also been on social media basically saying that he didn't agree with the judges' scoring last Saturday night. I really think he and Katya need to give it a rest now; they're coming across as whingers, and also as if they don't understand how Strictly works.

I agree. Just exit in a dignified manner. Even with the judges bizarre voting if the public had voted for him more than they did for Karen, Bal or George he would have gone through. The dance didnt look great on TV, he may be generally a great dancer but he had a bad week. The choreo was too much and the staging meant he blended in with the backing dancers. It's happened before. He'll be paid well and have massive exposure.

Everyone rushing to support him on social media is going on about how they don't understand how he was 'suddenly' not getting enough votes any more, when it's obvious that he had never been getting that many votes and been remaining safe because he was always at all near the top of the leaderboard. Honestly, some Strictly viewers just don't seem to put five seconds into thinking about how the scoring and voting actually work.

RainbowBagels · 10/12/2025 17:06

Exactly. You vote to save the person you want to save. So if your favourite is in danger you vote for them to keep them out of the DO, knowing that if they were against Amber or Lewis they would be out. So they didnt vote for Lewis. The judges votes are meant to mark on technique etc and thought he was equal to 2 others.

CardigansOfTheGalaxy · 10/12/2025 17:08

How does the scoring work? Do the judges' marks have a weighting of 50%?

I thought there was 5 points between the top score - 40 by Amber - and the next three at 35?

Yes but because of the way the points worked because of the 3 way tie the judges points meant it went Amber 5, middle 3 4 and Karen 3.

Indigovelvet · 10/12/2025 18:11

I'm surprised at Lewis if he is complaining about the scoring.

ConBatulations · 10/12/2025 18:19

If there are 5 contestants the top scorer gets 5 points if the next 4 and so on but if there is a tie they all score the same and the next person gets 1 less.

Same with votes i.e. top of public vote gets 5, next 4 etc and bottom 1. Points are added and the bottom 2 in dance off. If scores are tied then the public vote is the tie breaker.

Amber and Lewis must have been bottom of the public vote to be in the dance off.

I suspect Bal has received more of Alex's previous votes than the others and combined with a competent performance got through.

Indigovelvet · 10/12/2025 18:20

I think the choreo need to just accept they got it wrong. It was too complex and didn't look smooth. And learn for next time. I was sad to see him go though I must admit.

Can you show me where he has said that? I have been following both him and Katya on Instagram, and there has been nothing but heartfelt tributes to each other.

Lewis has also stuck up for Amber after she posted a farewell message to Lewis after his departure, telling her to ignore the negativity.

If you're referring to the "official Facebook page", I think it's probably fake.
