KEEP DANCING

Sorry I was late with this!

OP posts:
Bluffinwithmymuffin · 16/11/2025 20:52

I think Balvinder’s so used to the DO now, and was so certain she was going home, she relaxed completely, which made her performance look effortless. Definitely better than the first time, whereas poor Vicky was a bundle of nerves and couldn’t help but fluff it. She’s got on my nerves a few times but she was gracious in defeat and her last little dance with Kai was lovely.

😂😂.
Well he'll certainly have some free time now!

🤭 I'll keep him busy!

Talking of benchers - Can we have Nancy back please.
She was amazing tonight.

EsmaCannonball · 16/11/2025 21:02

Gorka usually gets the celeb who lives in the north, for logistical reasons.

Figgygal · 16/11/2025 21:28

Was the correct result from the do
Poor Bal to be there again

Coffeeishot · 16/11/2025 21:35

It must really knock your confidence being in and out of the dance off her nerves will be shot!

firstofallimadelight · 16/11/2025 21:56

I really liked Vicki so I’m gutted. Surely balvinder is next?
I want George Amber and Lewis for the final this year (and Karen if there’s a fourth person)
Got to say though I think on the whole this group have not been that good (apart from Amber and Lewis obviously) compared to previous years

Piggywaspushed · 16/11/2025 22:19

Was it mentioned that it was Vicky's birthday at any point?

GuyForksAndKnives · 16/11/2025 22:41

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 16/11/2025 20:07

Nothing against Vicky but she will not go down in Strictly history except for having a dead Blackpool nan. Get a bloody grip, Kai.

I'm sure Kai mentioned his own dead nan last night.

honeytoast2 · 16/11/2025 22:45

I can’t say I’m sorry to see Vicky go. I know she’s tried desperately to rebrand herself from her Geordie Shore days but I just can’t forget her behaviour then and it makes all of the nice girl act now feel so, so false. Not saying people don’t deserve second chances, I just think the constant ‘northern lass banter’ felt incredibly forced and not genuine. Also she was difficult to watch. It’s like she struggled to keep a lid on her emotions whenever there was any sign of criticism or the public maybe not backing her. She seems desperate to be liked.

Anyway I know lots of people like her so I’m possibly in the minority here!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/11/2025 22:47

Probably.
Most people can wheel out a dead nan to order, unless they're very young (or their mum had them when they were 16 🤣)

Edited to add that that was supposed to quote the post about Kai mentioning his dead nan.

Blimey. So by my reckoning last night alone we had LV's mum, George's grandad, Vicki's nan and then not to be left out, also Kai's. For a light entrainment show that's quite dead relative heavy.

Edited

I'm a bit over the dead nans (and granddad's in George's case) now. Hopefully next week someone jazzes it up and gets teary over their dance because it reminds them of their great, great, great ninth cousin, sixteen times removed and who never danced at Blackpool but did once do the Mambo in Skegness 😥.

LV has the dance of death samba and will no longer have the got to get 'em to Blackpool push so Bal might yet get to survive another week.

BogRollBOGOF · 16/11/2025 23:12

That was not the outcome I expected, but I'm pleased.
Balvinder did dance better second time round, and it was just not a great jive from Vickie. I can't say that I'll miss the shrieking (although she was calmer last night than previous weeks)

That's where judges making "you're finalist material" type comments can be unrealistic and cruel when they're said too early on, because it can all come crashing down in one bad dance against another competent contestant.

It favours the odds more towards places in the semi/ final for contestants I favour.

I really was expecting the judges to vote away from Balvinder though.

AlwaysRightISwear · 16/11/2025 20:06

I was so.pleased.to.see her charming routine rewarded over Vicky's really rather bad jove.

Yes, I really liked Bal's routine. Very charming. Vicki acknowledged that her own performance wasn't great.

Asunciondeflata · 16/11/2025 23:23

Garamousalata · 16/11/2025 20:33

LV should have gone. I swear they want him him for the entertainment value.

He wasn't in the DO. People must be voting for him.

CaveMum · 17/11/2025 10:09

Apologies for being AWOL (did anyone notice?!)

Disappointed that Vicki went, but based purely on the dance off it was the right choice.

I know some people haven’t warmed to her but she’s is so like a girl I used to work with that I can’t help but love her!

DarkNovemberBringsTheFog · 16/11/2025 20:51

I am another. Sometimes it’s several votes.

Another one here as I think there is bias in both the judges marking and in the public votes. And I like Bal's dances more than some others...

whataguddle · 17/11/2025 11:25

Glad Vicki gone can't stand her; her fake gurning and OTT behaviour!

Well done to Bal surving another DO.

Can't believe La Voix is still in, don't like drag at all and faking being a woman just no.

Of course there's "bias" in the public vote. You vote for who you want to stay.

LondonLady1980 · 17/11/2025 11:40

I can’t say I’m sad to see Vicki go and I would definitely have preferred Balvinder to stay. I really liked her dance and in the DO she made it look so effortless.

I’m gutted about Kai leaving - he’s looking hot this year 🔥

I agree with other posters who have said that it’s all been rather lacklustre this year. Im not one for being a fan of the ringers but if it weren’t for Lewis I’m not sure I’d bother watching.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 17/11/2025 12:00

Can't say as I'll miss the professional Geordie act, but she did well as a complete beginner.

JoeMarlerseyes · 17/11/2025 12:06

i think it would have been better if Dani and the other person who had to pull out had been in it. 2 ringers is a bit much.

Indigovelvet · 17/11/2025 12:17

I can't see how 2 ringers can be eliminated easily. I enjoy their dancing but usually the novice celebs with a journey are in the final. Bal has had a journey!

Apparently, they tried to have a ringer free series this year, but with both Kristian and Dani withdrawing, they needed people to replace them at short notice, who wouldn't be disadvantaged by lack of rehearsals.
