Will Young to win Pop Idol
Mike not being the rapist in Brookside, when they found his shirt button in the club I felt physically sick.

The identity of H in Line of Duty. Really disappointing to find out who it was in the end!

mambojambodothetango · 16/11/2025 11:16

Oh gosh yes, Twin Peaks. I was 12 and probably a bit too young for it. I had a scrap book with everything I'd seen in magazines and newspapers, obsessing about the characters and who the murderer was. The last episode was so scary I had night terrors for about a decade afterwards!

Kaykay247 · 16/11/2025 19:12

Lexis dying in Greys anatomy, followed by McSteamy. And then McDreamy 😒
And the fools and horses episode with "Cwying" - nearly wet myself!!!

CyanMaker · 16/11/2025 19:22

The televised in real time attack on the U.S. Capitol. Nothing in a pretend tv drama could be be so disturbing or horrifying.

restingbitchface30 · 16/11/2025 19:30

DAVIDS DEAD! that season of big brother was 😙

Auburngal · 16/11/2025 19:45

Neighbours related
. When Harold got swept off the cliff (that’s what we thought) Madge picking up his glasses in a rock pool screaming ‘Harold’
. Dee and Toadie after their wedding, Toadie drives off the cliff and doesn’t see Dee
. When Susan slaps Karl about his affair with Sarah

@tripleginandtonic @hopspot The only time I have ever phoned in to vote on a reality/talent show was in that final of Pop Idol. I was trying to vote for Gareth Gates, but the line was constantly engaged. I swear to this day that the only reason Will Young won was because less people were voting for him, so they got through more easily. Still bitter to this day😆

I honestly think that was a thing at the time! I was a big Darius fan!

MaplePumpkin · 16/11/2025 19:57

“David’s Dead” on celebrity big brother was one of the best things I’ve ever seen!

I also remember being on a seaside caravan holiday when I was about 10 and watching the episode of Corrie where Toyah found out that it was her best friend who had raped her. So dramatic!

Another one for the Pop Idol final with Will and Gareth. I was about 12 and put a poster of Gareth in our living room window, but as soon as Will was announced the winner, he was suddenly my favourite 🤣

The Traitors season 2 final with Harry, Jas and Molly was amazing.

Madonna falling down the stairs at the BRITS 🤣

Really! What did you say?

Oh god can’t remember! It was late 90s and I suspect I muttered some rubbish…! I’d like to think I’d have said that Deirdre should have gone free though.

Revealing the identity of H on Line of Duty. I remember sitting on the edge of the sofa and not breathing as the camera followed the police pack guarding him into the AC12 building .

Absolutely loved that series. A friend suggested and I was gripped from the start. Series 3 had me shouting at the TV 😁 Great programme to binge watching.

HughGrantsfurrysquirrel · 16/11/2025 20:53

God.... so many....
Showing my age, but the final episode Of Prisoner Cell Block H when "Fergo the freak" got her just desserts.

Eastenders, when Saskia was murdered. EE was bloody good in those days!!

Big Brother (can't remember which series) when Nadia won. I was thrilled for her.

The Alan Bradley/Rita storyline & tram accident in Corrie.
The whole Trevor/Mandy/Beth storyline in Brookie.

The conclusion of Ashes To Ashes.

The final episode of OFAH where Del & Rodney become millionaires.

The news announcement that we were going into lockdown.
Air France Concorde crash. Twin Towers.
Death of Princess Diana.

Being late for a date with my then new boyfriend owing to being glued to the tv awaiting the OJ Simpson verdict.
The Louise Woodward trial.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 15/11/2025 20:49

Oh yes, this too! Angry Anderson “Suddenly”!

Oh wow, yes!!
I was transfixed as a teenager.

LeoTheLion678 · 15/11/2025 12:43

I waited months for Danielle to tell Ronnie she was her daughter then she finally did, I literally cheered and she fucking died on us. I was pissed off for weeks.

Same. They really dragged this storyline out - only to kill her off.

BeMellowAquaSquid · 16/11/2025 21:06

Who shot Phil Mitchell and finding out who H was Line of Duty

Mike Dixon? I just been hunting all over t’internet and I can find or remember this plot? Brookie was brilliant though. Trevor Jordache under the patio was gripping tv.

  1. When the result of the Brexit vote was announced by a Council OIfficial from Manchester Town Hall. Historic Moment
  1. The Moon Landing.
  1. When Thatcher left Doiwning St and cried in the back of a car
QuirkyHorse · 16/11/2025 21:24

Felix Baumgartner documentary.
Although the outcome was known, I felt strangely sick watching him stood there ready to step off.
He literally could have gone either way.
The toll it took on him psychologically as well.
A really good, informative watch.

NewAgeNewMe · 16/11/2025 21:35

Sue Ellen you’re a drunk and an unfit mother.

It was you Kristen, you shot JR.

iconic tv!

Finding out who H was rubbish. I felt so cheated.

Bowies · 17/11/2025 08:48

David and Maddie ‘Moonlighting’ (strangers) getting together.

Shangrilalala · 17/11/2025 09:07

Arya taking out the Night King in GOT. It felt like I held my breath through the whole of The Long Night episode. A few weeks on, DD and I set our alarms and got up in the middle of the night to watch the last episode to find out who would sit in the iron throne, but found it a bit of a letdown. As a family, we all adored Game of Thrones.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 17/11/2025 09:24

England winning the Ashes in 2005 (Freddie and Kevin year) even for me a non-cricket person I was transfixed.

England winning the Rugby World Cup in 2003, never have i held my breath so much during a game of rugby. Johnny Wilkinson is a bloody super hero!

Manchester United winning the treble in 1999, I watched every single match. I'm bored with football now but back then I loved it.

I can't remember the name of the girl that was date raped, she had curly hair. She was friends with Mike and he was supporting her , he was really nice. But then his button was found at the club. And it made me feel really sick because I didn't want it to be him.( spoiler, it wasn't but again i can't think who it was)

Nikki Shadwick, I think it was her you are referring to.

She appeared in the Hollyoaks crossover with Tinhead.

Boris Johnson telling us ‘you must stay at home’
Smithy finally realizing that Nessa was ‘ the one’
Alan Carr telling Nick and David ‘ I have always been a traitor’ ( paraphrasing there)
Diana’s death.
