Will Young to win Pop Idol
Mike not being the rapist in Brookside, when they found his shirt button in the club I felt physically sick.

Sam Ryder at the Eurovision Song Contest.

EnchantingDecoration · 15/11/2025 22:29

Someone mentioned Zammo, that was incredible viewing too. They don’t make them like they used to.

OnToast81 · 15/11/2025 22:31

Kylie and Jason getting married in Neighbours, I was about 6 and obsessed.

Who shot JR in Dallas was the first time I remember a TV drama gripping the nation and making new headlines.

This. Amazing tv.

The last Blackadder episode. Remember still thinking about the ending for weeks afterwards. So powerful. There’s something about emotional moments that have so much more impact when in the context of a comedy.

zazazaaarmm · 15/11/2025 22:46

World Cup Semi final 1986. Hand of God.

Mo Farah winning in 2012. All my kids were screaming for him to win. Finally felt like racism was on the decline. (Its gone so wrong😥)

Twin Peaks. Bob I was about 15, was watching it with my two friends and we all screamed. It still makes me scared if I think about it too much.

Live Aid/Queen and Free Nelson Mandela concert when Bowie and Annie Lennox sang together.

Hillsborough.

Neighbours when Kylie and Jason married.

Nasty Nick
OJ Simpson verdict - everyone stopped work and went to find a TV screen
Moonlighting (Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis)
Final episode of Dawsons Creek - does Pacey get the girl?

breezyyy · 15/11/2025 22:48

I have to admit I haven’t watched Celebrity Traitors. 🫣 Yet.

DancingNotDrowning · 16/11/2025 02:23

Nasty Nick on BB - it really captured the zeitgeist.

I was early 20s working with a 40 something cambridge educated lawyer and expert in Roman archeology and we totally bonded over the experience. Even the senior partners were into it and we’d literally talk round the water cooler.

i remember being offered tickets to go to the eviction filming. I went up with friends and don’t remember any details at all except the crowd was wild!

Sweetiedarling7 · 16/11/2025 07:34

Dots “urgent exit required” in Line of Duty and Vicky McClure hanging off a lorry.
The most exciting telly I have ever seen.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 16/11/2025 07:53

Who would take over from David Tennant as Doctor Who. After Matt Smith it went downhill and I stopped watching until they bought Tennant back for the couple of specials. I loved seeing Bernard Cribbins as Wilf one last time, it felt like a great tribute to the man. Sadly I think the golden days of Doctor Who are over.

I was totally invested in Merlin, it was a wonderful Saturday evening series. Fantasy and gentle drama all in one. It left a massive hole in my Saturday night's. Now we just have endless quiz shows.

The X Factor, the One Direction year. Everyone had their favourite member of One Direction as well.

Agree about Dr Who. As soon as Matt Smith turned up it was twee nonsense.

When Lauren showed up to Heidi and Spencer's wedding on The Hills.

KitKatKathy · 16/11/2025 08:09

Rose Tyler and The Dr. saying goodbye 😭

MrsLeonFarrell · 16/11/2025 08:12

The last episode of Blake's Seven.

"Dr Sam Beckett never returned home."

Can still remember the emotional impact of both in a TV age before spoilers.

lemonraspberry · 16/11/2025 08:16

RedRec · 16/11/2025 09:59

The trapped Chilean miners. And they were finally freed on my birthday.
