I think it's more about identity and perspective than anything. Some people will grow up working class but later identity as middle class because of the way in which their lives have evolved. Others may continue to identify as working class throughout their lives, even if they live distinctly middle class lifestyles and have children who would undoubtedly be regarded as middle class. It isn't an exact science and there are no hard and fast criteria.

Yes I agree. Just surprised at how pps are adamant they know more about it

By rewatching all the other Series of course! I’m currently 4 episodes into UK S2 with the DC (I watched it live first time round) and we’ve just had “the big reveal” which I won’t ruin for those yet to watch 😜

I have watched all of them, but not the Irish one. Thanks @gingercat02
Oz S 1 remains my fave. Some great personalities.

Mimosa3andmore · 07/11/2025 16:51

I enjoyed the final, particularly the explosions on the train! It's probably right that Alan won in the end but I was hoping the faithful would get there in the end.

TakeMeToAnIgloo · 07/11/2025 16:57

Wonder how the explosion was done? Did they just film them running up the hill, and add the explosion with CGI, or did they do some kind of fake but visible explosion that they could have seen at the time and/or watched from the hill afterwards? They'd have had to pretend that the time was running out.

I expect they staged it and got a separate take of them running from it. I expect the sound was dubbed in too and that a lot of it was just smoke bomb to look more dramatic.

But becoming a mega multi-millionaire doesn't make you upper class. You are born into it, or marry into it. You can't buy it.

If it doesn't work for upper class, the 'money' angle doesn't work at all.

So that Charlie plumber guy (v rich) is middle class??

Agree it’s not about money.

I imagine there was someone with a button who could see when they’d all reached a previously calculated “safe zone”.

Thanks - I'm looking forward to getting stuck in.

Traitors Oz, NZ and US are all on BBC iPlayer once you have been through the previous UK seasons.

I started with one episode of the UK series...

Have you watched Aus series 2?

Without giving anything away to anyone who might go and watch some, wasn’t that one contestant a complete sociopath! And so effective at manipulation.

They were all grinning so I don't think they were running away from a real one!

Joe is so attractive. I love that big muscly macho rugby look

Joe reminds me of this chap.

I don't know how to add an image....look up Fungus the Bogey Man. It's uncanny 🤣

The Irish one is on iplayer. Aparently it's very good.

Does it have a different name? I don’t see it on BBC at the moment, nor is Traitors Canada.

I suppose when we run out of English language versions we can look for subtitled Dutch episodes to see the original 😀

No not yet. I learned about the Oz version from these threads and I’ve been saving it for the "hungry gap" between series. I’ve never seen the Canada or Irish versions either and not all of the US version (although its not my fave) so if I ration them I should be able to save some for after the next regular UK season!

No one is expecting anyone to hang back, don't say untrue things. No one is expecting anyone not to discuss the programme until some unspecified date of their choosing in the future! Such nonsense.

People are highly alert to the possibility of spoilers in this day and age, but they don't expect to see spoilers in thread titles started by the very same fellow viewers who are equally invested in the programme.

for "people" ^^ above you can just use I, or me. I don't speak for anyone else. Although plenty of others on the thread have described it as a spoiler.

The thread title wasn't a spoiler. It was started AFTER the programme had aired.

If people don't want to know the result, then the onus is on them to stay away from anywhere that might publicise the news.

WonderfulSmith · 07/11/2025 17:40

Going back to the casting and possible future series, I loved that this was a really high quality cast. I’d heard of most people and everyone was a performer of some sort or another, which brought so much. If you fill something like this with people from TOWIE or similar programs you end up with a room of nothing. These people all have larger personalities because that is what they do.
I think they will have a good chance of getting a decent lot in next year given how big this has been. Also having Celia will show how it can be done even if you are older.

CeliaFarts · 07/11/2025 17:47

I agree about the cast. There were quite a few I hadn’t heard of, but that’s because I don’t actually watch much TV rather than because they weren’t “proper“ celebrities. The one I was least sure of the celebrity status was Ruth, although I don’t know if that’s fair or not.

It would be awful with reality show / influencer types. There have been enough of those on some of the non-celeb seasons.

Genuinely a sociopath and not just a hyperbolic comment. It was strangely fascinating to watch.

What was so weird was how he didn't see that ending coming. It was so obvious (and a terrible way to end the game, in my opinion).

I couldn't bear to watch most of that one. I usually root for the Faithful because they're at such a disadvantage but they were so stupid and annoying in that one. But I couldn't root for the Traitors either because of that nasty fruitloop. It was quite horrible to watch and then a totally shit abd predictable ending.

Apparently the show wasn’t as popular in Aus as it is here anyway, and then it was cancelled after that series because no one liked it.

I think I read that another channel might be trying a reboot though

C8H10N4O2 · 07/11/2025 19:15

Is Uncloaked specific to the UK and Ireland shows? IMDB doesn’t seem to have entries for other Uncloaked series but its a such a fun part of the show I’m surprised its not standard (and of course a cheap extension of air time).

scissy · 07/11/2025 19:21

WonderfulSmith · 07/11/2025 06:22

I think she means when they all met up outside on the actual finish. They don’t normally do that and the ending feels slightly flat. I remember Harry being all excited but standing there alone with a glass of bubbly.

To be fair, it was probably easier to do this time around as there was less at stake individually for the finalists, and they (mostly) knew of each other beforehand (or were even friends).
Not sure I'd be able to do it if I'd been playing against strangers, and then lost to a traitor in the endgame. I'd be too disappointed/frustrated.

But it would have been so easy not to "publicise the news" on here just literally a couple of hours after it happened, wouldn't it? Just "Celebrity Traitors Thread 7 - The Final" or something like that.

It would also have been easy to just stay off the internet. There were spoilers everywhere about 2 minutes after the show finished.

I’m really not comfortable with how many people are having a go at OP when she simply started a thread. She hasn’t done anything wrong.
