Mumsnet Active Conversations is on the internet though. Grin

Er yes. Mumsnet is a site on the World Wide Web.

Do you remember the days when if you wanted to watch something you tuned in, and you didn't expect the rest of the world to hang back until you did?

Maggiethecat · 07/11/2025 13:50

It’s really not editing conversations though. Especially if the thread is active the title can jump out.
Was Alan’s name in the title necessary.

Holluschickie · 07/11/2025 13:51

Tbh I would also like to be able to discuss previous seasons. S 1 was nearly 4 years ago. If you haven't watched it by now, you never will.

C8H10N4O2 · 07/11/2025 13:47

Also TBF, the thread says “Alan’s end game?” as a question rather than a result. I wouldn’t automatically assume from the title that he had won unless I knew the thread started after the end of the show.

I don't see the question mark, is something funny going on?

WestwardHo1 · 07/11/2025 13:54

But you could hear about it anywhere. You could overhear a conversation at work. You could see a headline on a newsstand. You could overhear people chatting in a cafe. How long do people expect other people to keep quiet until they decide they have time to load iPlayer?

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/11/2025 13:54

god it's only a telly programme

Exactly. All this talk about whether it was necessary to put Alan's name in the thread title... none of it is necessary!

People need to get over themselves and stop being so fucking precious over something as trivial as a thread on Mumsnet about a TV programme!

Edited

No one is expecting anyone to hang back, don't say untrue things. No one is expecting anyone not to discuss the programme until some unspecified date of their choosing in the future! Such nonsense.

People are highly alert to the possibility of spoilers in this day and age, but they don't expect to see spoilers in thread titles started by the very same fellow viewers who are equally invested in the programme.

for "people" ^^ above you can just use I, or me. I don't speak for anyone else. Although plenty of others on the thread have described it as a spoiler.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/11/2025 14:00

The thread title isnt
"well done Alan for winning"
the title is open to interpretation
and once a programme has aired quite frankly it's fair game

Perhaps "people" need to adjust their expectations in future.

Reading along with this thread has been a lovely additional topping on the traitors cake, so thank you everyone.

I have disappeared down a Nick Mohammed rabbithole and it turns out he has an absolutely adorable double

Edited

His alter ego pops up in Last One Laughing for a fun mini-performance, which is how I recognised him. I loved Nick this series so I guess I'll have to do what the world's been banging on about for ages and finally watch Ted Lasso.

As for Cat, she had quite a popular song a few years ago that was all over the radio. I imagine she'll do very well out of her Traitors appearance.

If one thing's been established this series, it's that sportsmen are highly competitive even in parlor games and don't give a hoot about celebrity hierarchies the same way as the entertainment pros do. For S2, maybe they'll hire more sportspeople for greater anarchy!

Finto1111 · 07/11/2025 14:03

Nick has put a post on instagram saying sorry to Joe in a jokey way, and Joe liked the post :)

I love looking at all their different posts on instagram

Missingducks · 07/11/2025 14:15

Who is Ed Gamble? Is he anything to do with Traitors other than Uncloaked? He has a face for radio.

Tiswa · 07/11/2025 14:16

I think the title is open to interpretation because let’s be honest the end game for traitors winning was Alan not Cat (and tbh not sure either of them did I think Joe overplayed and Nick overthought and David followed). Our perception bias of knowing the result can definitely play into that interpretation

That said once it is aired on terrestrial tv it is fair game - you don’t want spoilers don’t go online. Like many we changed up how we watched this (and the final of bake off) to make sure we watched live or with a delay that meant we didn’t watch

Comedian. Host of the highly successful Off Menu podcast, alongside James Acaster. He also hosts the Taskmaster podcast and was a contestant on the show himself, winning S9 in 2019.

He was at Durham Uni with Nick and also Nish Kumar.

Well that’s rude.

Joe is so attractive. I love that big muscly macho rugby look

I think Celebrity Traitors uk has pulled in quite a few viewers new to the series. Heard lots of people say they are going to watch the old ones now.

CaveMum · 07/11/2025 14:24

@HarrietteVane and @Tofufuton if you need more of a “Nick Fix” watch S17 of Taskmaster (broadcast 2024) and he’s also in an episode of dark comedy Inside No9 as an obsessed fan (S6, episode 2).

Finto1111 · 07/11/2025 14:24

I would love to be on the traitors!

I might apply for the next season

I don't see it myself. I didn't dislike him at all, but I don't find him remotely attractive.

Each to their own, I suppose!Grin

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm not the one getting annoyed about people on the Internet talking about a TV programme.

It really isn't me that needs to relax and unclench! Grin

I just love a really big man. And i love a big beard too.

I don't like skinny men
