Anyone watching? I couldn’t see another thread - apols if I missed one. As usual, I haven’t heard of several of the 'celebs'.

Second series - runners up were 20 seconds behind the winners according to Wikipedia

That’s very close. Very much race to the end

How come they all speak such good Spanish?

It’s an easy language to pick up .

Travelling for a month through entirely Spanish-speaking countries, having to ask for help - you pick it up.

CrushingOnRubies · 11/12/2025 21:17

Also I think if I had signed up to the show I would be downloading Spanish Duolingo and really dedicating myself to it.

LaserPumpkin · 11/12/2025 21:21

Some of them might have done Spanish at school and still be young enough to remember the basics!

But it is one of the easier languages to pick up anyway.

gogomomo2 · 11/12/2025 21:30

I think some had spent time in Spain, mentioned it at the beginning.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 11/12/2025 21:47

I loved that, really liked them all, especially Molly and Tyler. It's so refreshing to see people who genuinely like and respect each other on TV, rather than arguments and dramatics.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 11/12/2025 21:53

Just got to the end, do they win money for charity? I thought they might say who they were giving the money to.

Id have been happy with either of those two front runners winning, really lovely people.

Tyler and Molly are couple goals 🥰

I didn’t like the dessert bit at the end, I kept thinking that’s were the gangsters would bury the bodies 🙈😂 I may have been watching too many crime dramas 😂

CatrionaBalfour · 11/12/2025 22:36

I've just read that they're giving the money to help street children they met on the journey

I think that’s probably it.

Newgirls · 11/12/2025 23:20

That was such a great show! Really interesting part of the world and lovely contestants. Brutal bus journeys for them all tho - relentless!

Friendlyfart · 11/12/2025 23:28

Really enjoyed the series. I’m glad the Kemps won. Molly and Tyler were great too - and respect to Bal for doing it at 68!

SizeableBadBoys · 12/12/2025 01:22

I loved it too and glad that Roman and Harleymoon won. They've been on the biggest "journey" in their relationship and I hope they stay close. It made me sad when Harley said that she thought Roman loved her but didn't like her.

It was the other way round, wasn't it? Anyway, they became good friends.

CatrionaBalfour · 12/12/2025 07:45

Molly and Tyler are so sweet. They should do travel programmes together.

threesocksmorgan · 12/12/2025 07:56

glad they won, but it was very close.

CatrionaBalfour · 12/12/2025 07:57

Anita overdoes the whole Yorkshire shtick though.

Newgirls · 12/12/2025 09:07

I imagine Anita was asked the same questions a lot in various picturesque spots. Must be exhausting doing those bus journeys then having cameras on you in the rare chill out moments. I’d be so grumpy! Which is why I’m not a tv star 😂

Newgirls · 12/12/2025 09:08

Molly and Tyler were adorable! Wonderful communication skills with each other.

Couldn't have been closer, really! It's a shame Jackie and Dylan had to drop out, though.

IAmKerplunk · 12/12/2025 09:26

I thought it was a really good series. Roman and Harley are so different - it was wonderful to watch them find each other again.
Molly and Tyler - what a good advert they are for healthy relationships compared to a lot of celebrities their age. They have so much respect for each other. Molly is absolutely a power horse and Tyler is a son any mum would be proud of.
I was sad about Jackie and Dylan - especially as they still had money left but Jackie said she was tired and they had got to the last leg. Bless her she has been through a lot and I’m glad she did this.
I liked Anita and her dad - loved how he championed his daughter despite his culture preferring sons. I love progressive men (especially his generation and culture) like that - what an example.
Loved seeing South America too - what a vibrant friendly place!

CatrionaBalfour · 12/12/2025 09:28

Yes, I loved seeing all the locations and the people, those countries looked amazing. What scenery!

But they don’t know where they’re going to be going until they get to the airport – I read an interview with Anita where she said she was convinced it was going to be Africa

apremoiledeluge · 12/12/2025 15:47

I think Dylan and Jackie had just got tired of the demands of the race really. They did seem to find it more challenging than some of the others. They might have had enough money to make it to the end seeing as another team only had £17 left but their heart wasn't in it. I expect they just wanted to finish with a bit of relaxing time together before heading home.
The production team are not going to just leave them there, especially that end destination which is a slightly dodgy part of Columbia. RATW is carefully edited and there's always a safety net so it's not full on independent backpacking but they all did well, I think.

Just heard Molly and Tyler got engaged, gorgeous video on Instagram of Tyler proposing ❤️
