What happened with Sam and Tracey and a scam? Missed that bit

Belle had an alert on her phone that Tracey had tickets for JD for sale so Sam bought them but then when he went round to collect them he discovered she didn’t have any (shocker - she’s 36 not 56) and Tracey said weird things had been happening to her phone.

The whole tickets fiasco along with the Dingle House needing to becompletely rewired was some sort of clunky plot device that came from nowhere.
