Surely only a be-aproned Kev can save us from the drug fiends? Die valiantly and all that. On Christmas Day.

I’m surprised they didn’t pimp Anya out instead of using her for farm labour.

I reckon it's on the cards

JaneJeffer · 10/11/2025 20:09

RaraRachael · 10/11/2025 20:07

Completely agree that this episode was too much.
They could easily have ganged up and jumped Ray.
How did Ray just happen to find Anya when she escaped? No idea why she didn't tell Ruby or Caleb about what was going on.

Sadly I can see this being dragged out until Christmas.

Christmas next year probably

JadeSeahorse · 10/11/2025 20:10

Absolutely awful. 😥

However, Bear 's arm seemed to heal itself really quickly all of a sudden. He couldn't move it on Day 85 without crying out in agony but by Day 100 he's moving it moving free and easily.

Why did we only hear Celia except for one scene?

Celia is the boss. She doesn't get her hands dirty so Ray deals with the work force

Really hating Emmerdale these days. I watch Classic Emmerdale from time to time - it's like night and day - storylines that were entertaining and escapist, not issues being rammed down our throats left, right and centre.. I wish they would bring back some of the old scriptwriters.

I gave up halfway through the episode - it's utter nonsense - I didn't think it was possible to hate a storyline more than the April / D-man drivel.

I gave up on Corrie recently, think I'll do the same with Emmerdale.

Jitterybugs2 · 10/11/2025 20:12

Ray’s assault on the guy was brutal

JaneJeffer · 10/11/2025 20:13

Seeing as Mandy is going to the jungle I hope her cover story is that she’s in prison for battering Celia with her stick when she found out about Bear

PrincessScarlett · 10/11/2025 20:14

On the news earlier today they were talking about tonight's episode. Emmerdale have worked very closely with a charity that supports victims of modern slavery. Sadly tonight was spot on.

It’s mostly the same writers now though! I blame the producers!

JaneJeffer · 10/11/2025 20:16

ITV should do a documentary or a post watershed drama and leave the soaps alone

Wishimaywishimight · 10/11/2025 20:17

In that case we need new producers!!

Wishimaywishimight · 10/11/2025 20:18

I meant to tag @JaneJeffer😀

Wishimaywishimight · 10/11/2025 20:23

@PrincessScarlettI don't doubt that the storyline is thoroughly researched and, sadly, accurate. I just don't think early evening soaps are the right forum.

I watch soaps for a little light relief from real life. I watch after a day's work, when I'm doing the ironing or whatever. If I want to know more about such serious issues I can watch documentaries.

JaneJeffer · 10/11/2025 20:29

I don’t think the layout of the Emmerdale farms suit the storyline either. They have small holdings where all the neighbours can see each other. I can imagine it happening on those huge farms elsewhere where the neighbours are miles away.

JewelleryCat · 10/11/2025 20:32

So is the farm Wylies?

JaneJeffer · 10/11/2025 20:37

No, it’s next door to Moira. I don’t know what happened to Wylies since Nate stopped farming it but when Aaron returned Cain had him imprisoned there for reasons I can’t remember Confused

Oh is it? I thought Wylies was next door, I need a map of Emmerdale lol and I forgot Cain imprisoned Aaron there. You have such a good memory!

JaneJeffer · 10/11/2025 20:54

I’m actually surprised they didn’t use Wylies because all the bonkers stuff happens there Grin

EachandEveryone · 10/11/2025 20:55

At one point they were all going to work and paddy was there I really thought Bear would appear he’s going to bring down the qhols thing I reckon.

why did that young woman try to get to London and not back to ruby house

Change2banon · 10/11/2025 21:07

I’m so confused as to how Bear is caught up in all of this??

strugglingwithlife · 10/11/2025 21:10

Fucking awful. That's all.
And how did Bear end up there, that wasn't shown

RaraRachael · 10/11/2025 21:14

Early on in the episode Ray mentioned to Bear that this was better than sleeping in his car so I'm guessing he just "came across" him.

Bollocks to it all. As a PP said, if ITV want to highlight social issues, make documentaries about them, don't shoehorn them all into a soap.

PamelaShipman80 · 10/11/2025 21:15

When we last saw Bear he was on the verge of a breakdown, I’m assuming Ray has found him living in the car and thought he could find a use for him. It was like Bear had forgotten who he was :( I’ll definitely be complaining about that episode. I agree it was well done but it’s too depressing and not what we watch Emmerdale for! Ridiculous no one who works on Moiras farm has seen the state of the ‘workers’

Jitterybugs2 · 10/11/2025 21:19

Bear was having mood swings and acting strangely before he went away. We were speculating if it was yet another soapland dementia story. Ray made a reference tonight about him sleeping in a lay-by. It sounds like Bear had a mental breakdown of some sort and has been sleeping rough in his car. Then fallen into Ray’s clutches.

Crossed posts PamelaShipman80.
