KEEP DANCING

Went to live recording , Tess was very nervous and fluffed reading the autocue a couple of times and had to be led by someone’s hand because her heels were so high, Claudia was more relaxed, I really doubt Tess is managing the timing of the whole show either.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Kaz's Charleston. Carlos has been packing in the content and Kaz has been pretty sharp with her movement so if it all goes well, it should be epic.

I really dislike salsas and sambas, and yes cha cha chas darhling too!

I love a samba, but i don't think i know the difference between a salsa and a cha cha they look the same to me.

I really hope its not Holly Willoughby. Zoe Ball and Hannah Waddington would be a dream but I cannot see Hannah wanting to do the job.
Mainly I hope they keep a female duo fronting a mostly female watched show. Its so rare for a big show to have even a woman fronting it let alone two.

Some of those music choices are, as ever, “interesting”.
I love Sapphire but really hope they get a guest professional to sing the Hindi parts.
Gloria’s Samba is great but very fast for a genuine non professional samba.
Think seems like a curious choice for Charlston unless its just a snippet moving into the second song.
The Mama Cass song seems a bit slow for a foxtrot.

I’m sure the orchestra will mangle them into time though 😀

Hannah W, as good as she would be, I’d be AMAZED if she took it on. She’s very recently broken into films. She’s out of Strictly’s league!

It’s all in the count - a Salsa is danced as 6 counts over 8 beats per bar (1, 2, 3, pause, 5, 6, 7, pause) whereas a cha cha is danced as 5 counts over a 4 beat bar (2, 3, 4 and 1)

From a playing point of view both are in 4/4 time if that helps. So cha cha is danced as if it were three crotchets followed by two semis per bar and salsa is danced as three beats and a rest per bar roughly but is more syncopated. I found it difficult to play for latin dance at first unless I shut my eyes to the dancing. The extra line of syncopation over the music was like listening to a third hand playing a line not in the music. Ballroom was much more regular and straightforward.

My secret, shameful opinion, that might see me run off Strictly Mumsnet, is Tom and Amy's Paso (which they showed a bit of on ITT) is second only to Austin and Erin's. It was exactly the sort of Paso I like, Amy's choreography was great and Tom really surprised me. Sorry.

I'm guessing the Sun has seen this video of the kissing couple, tried to blackmail them into giving an exclusive confessional interview and, when that didn't work, is now trying to put the pressure on by letting the public know it exists. I would have said Dan and Nadiya but the reporting seems to suggest it is someone more recent.

There's also all the weird Ore Oduba stuff but I guess the way that wind seems to be blowing he wouldn't have been caught kissing a female pro.

Yes, I'm really bored with them. I'm surprised so many want to do the samba, I thought it was generally viewed as the dance of death. It's odd that we're getting so many of these at the expense of jives and American smooths.

There's not a great amount of detail about either parties, so no point in speculating.

I've no sympathy for him and think he should keep his mouth closed. There's specialist help and therapy available and he could well have afforded to pay for it.

Sounds like Tom Fletcher to me. Perhaps the story has never become public before due to Amy’s health issues. It could even be her announcement this week about more surgery was an attempt to suppress the story. It doesn’t seem in keeping with her image but I can’t see who else it could be other than Tom.

Oh no… just when it seemed as though things were finally settling down this series - not counting the business with Tom at the start (I also loved that paso) and Tess and Claud’s bombshell.

I was never a fan of Ore, and nothing he’s said or done since Strictly has changed my mind. His wife does seem lovely, in which case she’s well rid. If these latest revelations are meant to garner sympathy and support I fear he may be bitterly disappointed. Way TMI. Who’s going to want to watch him on tv now?

I think I should clarify, it was Tom Fletcher and Amy's paso which they showed a clip of on ITT and which is my second favourite paso of all time. Tom Skinner, not so much.
