Thanks Eine.

LeticiaMorales · 02/11/2025 20:13

Thanks 👍

TennisWithDeborah · 02/11/2025 20:17

Thanks Eine, for the new thread.

A very good partnership, Ellie and Vito. I find them more interesting than Bal and Julian but Bal’s the better dancer and deserved the nod from the judges.

Did anyone catch which male pro was the second skeleton (right at the beginning)in the pro routine. He looked amazing but I couldn’t figure who it was under the make up!
Also hoping someone knows and maybe third time lucky, does anyone know which week is Musicals week?

I’m fairly certain it was Nikita (I may have watched it a few times to make sure)

FrothyCothy · 02/11/2025 20:43

The show will lack some sparkle without Ellie next week. I hope she comes back to watch.

Bal seems an obvious next boot as unlikely to get another post-DO boost? George needs to smash it next week or risk finding himself down there - he can be forgiven a bad one.

stockpilingallthecheese · 02/11/2025 21:32

I think Harry will do quite well with his Samba, it should suit him so maybe he will be ok. Looking forward to Amber’s salsa!

I think it will always have been in his mind. He’s too considerate for it not to have been, he’ll have been thinking about this moment from the get go.

Yes he will have had it worked out He is an excellent teacher and dance partner Ellie had 1 of the best, he is fab i loves him 😍*

I said this on the last thread but it had moved on so I just want say it again

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 02/11/2025 21:48

Agree re George @FrothyCothy,he seems to have lost momentum lately after such a good start. One more week of nothing special and he’ll find himself in the DO.

LeticiaMorales · 02/11/2025 21:57

I hope Harry picks it up a bit next week. He's got potential.
That was 2 bad weeks for George,he should have gone, not Ellie 😔

firstofallimadelight · 02/11/2025 22:07

I was shocked I thought it would be balvinder and harry in the bottom two. I’m sad to see Ellie go I enjoyed her dances every week and she really improved. It was lovely to see Elle and vitos friendship too. I hope Ellie is proud of everything she has achieved on strictly.

I’m hoping George gets it together her could be the underdog in the final if he improves. He’s very popular though.

Yes, he clearly is! It may be the tiktok voters.

Teathecolourofcreosote · 02/11/2025 22:17

I was also sad to see Ellie go. She wasn't the best dancer but equally, she was million miles better than many who have made it further. Judy Murray got to Blackpool.

I think going now will be better for her though. I don't know how many times you could put her through a dance off and she's gone with the public right behind her.

We've seen it with others with a popular vote that once they start knocking out the clearly better dancers there can be a bit of a backlash (John sergeant pulled out voluntarily) and I would hate that for her.

Balvinda seems nice but I just find it very dull. She seemed to be placed a lot in that rhumba. Probably clever choreography but didn't look like it stretched technique as far as Karen's (which did demonstrate how hard it is not to wobble) or have the story telling of Alex.

I can't see her lasting long. She's not bad just not memorable.

EsmaCannonball · 02/11/2025 22:17

Last week Jimmy and this week Ellie; that's two of my absolute favourites gone. I also like Balvinder but would have put Ellie through, partly because anyone landing in the dance-off for the third time is clearly toast but mainly because there is little chemistry between Balvinder and Julian and she just seems, understandably, resigned to her fate. Ellie, on the other hand, dances with such conviction and self-expression. I also find it refreshing that Ellie doesn't speak like she's been coached by a PR strategist; she genuinely speaks from the heart. (Unlike some who seem incredibly rehearsed and keep on repeating the lines and jokes they've already said on ITT on the main show as well - ahem, Vicky.)

He has over 3 million followers on social media that’s a big fan base.

nettie434 · 02/11/2025 22:22

I agree with the posts about Ellie & Vito on the previous thread. I loved Ellie's enthusiasm and admired the way she learned a new dance every week. Vito was clearly a great teacher and was very supportive, especially in the farewell speech.

Balvinder looks as if she wouldn't have been too upset to have been voted off. I don't watch East Enders but I did read that her character wasn't very nice. She also doesn't seem to do the media round so I don't think she has a ready made fan base.

That's where I think she differs from Harry who comes across as likeable and who has definitely embraced the 'Doing Strictly has Changed my Life' vibe.

Of course Katya & Lewis were wonderful but I loved Karen & Carlos's Argentine Tango too.

TennisWithDeborah · 02/11/2025 22:25

Yes Lewis and Karen were my favourite celebs last night. I hadn’t heard of either of them in August.

BogRollBOGOF · 02/11/2025 22:36

I made the mistake of watching with teenage DS in the room, he looked disgusted at my tears leaking at the conclusion to the DO. 😂

Realistically for technique it was a fair decision, but the judges handled an awkward call sensitively and it was a lovely send off. I'm going to miss Ellie's sparkle and enthusiasm. Ellie and Vito have been a great team and it's been great seeing how Vito has customised his teaching/dancing to match Ellie's needs.

Interesting to see Cat singing; I hadn't heard of her before The Traitors. I liked her voice.

It's a shame to see Balvinder in the DO again. There's a large knot of contestants who are all pretty balanced against each other now, and none of them have clearly reached their best before.

NeedWineNow · 02/11/2025 22:37

Placemarking on the new thread, thanks @EineReiseDurchDieZeit

Ellie and Vito have been a joy to watch but I agree that it was her time to go. The connection between them is very special however and Vito 's speech made both DH and I a bit teary.

Onwards to next week.

IfalldownbutIgetupagain · 02/11/2025 22:40

I’ve just been to see Cat Burns live in Leeds this evening to launch her new album. She has an amazing voice and writes songs with meaning based on her experiences.

xsquared · 02/11/2025 22:45

It's a shame that Balvinder was in the dance off again, and it's not like there is someone else who she can take turns in being in the dance off with either. Unless she has a wow! dance next week, I wouldn't be surprised to find her in the bottom two again.

I didn't like the group dance at all. Was it meant to be a jive or a dance of the dead type thing? It just fell flat to me.

Vito was just the right pro for Ellie. She did what she could and gave 100% commitment to her performances. I don't think Vito is childish, and actually, I think he has the emotional intelligence to treat Ellie with the same respect you'd expect him to treat his dance partners, without expecting too much from her or infantalizing her.
