KEEP DANCING

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 02/11/2025 23:12

I've been at the football and managed to avoid the result until I got home. I thought Amber was sure to be in the dance off as they called her so late. Vito and Ellie have been a lovely partnership but I think it was her time to go. She can go with her head held high.

Ratafia · 03/11/2025 00:33

That thing Tess says about announcing the results in no particular order is bollocks, isn't it? The last 4 are always people at real risk of being in the dance off. They would never have put people like, say, Lewis and Karen into the last four, because there would be no tension - we would know there would be no chance either of them would have been in the bottom two in terms of the votes, so there would have been no jeopardy.

Last week Jimmy and this week Ellie; that's two of my absolute favourites gone. I also like Balvinder but would have put Ellie through, partly because anyone landing in the dance-off for the third time is clearly toast but mainly because there is little chemistry between Balvinder and Julian and she just seems, understandably, resigned to her fate. Ellie, on the other hand, dances with such conviction and self-expression. I also find it refreshing that Ellie doesn't speak like she's been coached by a PR strategist; she genuinely speaks from the heart. (Unlike some who seem incredibly rehearsed and keep on repeating the lines and jokes they've already said on ITT on the main show as well - ahem, Vicky.)

Vicky’s “I feel so inadequate, humble, grateful, in awe of yous all and I don’t deserve to be here” act has worn too thin for me now. She irritates me so much it completely overshadows her dancing.

I agree re Vicky. It's all very faux modesty, and it's like she's trying to push being nervous as her thing.

I'm sure they all get nervous, but they don't harp in about it as much as she does!

Coffeeishot · 03/11/2025 08:29

I honestly think that is Vicki's personality, all her other stuff is scripted reality so she is in control of the narrative, Strictly is live a Saturday and she just is how she is,

I find the screeching, jumping all over Kai when she gets her scores very put on and very off putting.

Reminding everyone that shes a Geordie is getting a boring as well. Sara Davies was never like that.

Yes, she is over the top the screeching and jumping about is irritating but I do think it is her personality and being Geordie is her thing. I mean how would we ever know that Ant and Dec were Geordie they tell us every 5 minutes 😀

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 03/11/2025 09:34

It’s a shame re Vicky because she’d be much more likeable otherwise; good dancer, partnered with Kai etc, but from the start she was setting herself up to be a hopeless case with two left feet, and it soon became clear she’s very far from that.
In the vt for her cc she said something about her typical geordie upbringing, “ups and downs and scraped knees,” as if those things don’t happen to literally everyone, everywhere. And yes, the jumping and screeching at every good mark.
She must be pretty popular regardless, but I wish she’d give it a rest.

Coffeeishot · 03/11/2025 09:37

Yes just calm down pet 😀 I can't remember her being annoying on im a celebrity might have been edited down to quiet Vicky.

Coffeeishot · 03/11/2025 13:20

That poor woman she never catches a break.

Coffeeishot · 03/11/2025 13:26

It seems to be a preventative masectomy so no treatment, I am not sure how long recovery is, wish her a speedy recovery.

LeticiaMorales · 03/11/2025 15:21

Poor Amy, still a young woman and has been through the mill. ❤️

Teathecolourofcreosote · 03/11/2025 19:49

I guess this isn't bad timing in the sense that she's out of the main part of the show and it gives her time to recover before the tour etc.

She doesn't half go through it though. Looked amazing in the group dance this weekend so hopefully she's a lot stronger to deal with it.

Ups and downs and scraped knees and a conviction for assaulting a woman in a nightclub - the kind of ups and downs we all go through!

Choux · 04/11/2025 08:01

I guess Vicky and Lewis must be sharing the NE vote and he will outlast her so I guess she needs her home region votes to keep her out of as many dance offs as possible. She doesn’t have the support of a set of soap fans, the yoof etc. Being Geordie and her dance skills are all she has.

In other news the DM’s Eden Confidential page is reporting so called informed gossip that Holly is being lined up as presenter. See photo.

Wouldn't like to be that hairdresser today!

I was shocked I thought it would be balvinder and harry in the bottom two. I’m sad to see Ellie go I enjoyed her dances every week and she really improved. It was lovely to see Elle and vitos friendship too. I hope Ellie is proud of everything she has achieved on strictly.

I completely agree. Thought it would be Balvinder and Harry in the dance off and Harry would go.
Ellie and Alex have been my favourites throughout.
Ellie had fantastic timing, amazing confidence and never made an error.
She made me quite emotional watching her because I am a retired learning disability nurse and trained back in the 80s (in fact my qualification was then called Registered Nurse Mental Handicap) when huge numbers of people like Ellie were housed in old victorian hospitals behind big walls far away from the rest of the community.
I am so proud of Ellie!
Sadly there are still some nasty people who wish people with learning disabilities were not visible in society and I have been very angry reading their stupid comments on social media but with Ellie fighting the good fight hopefully these dinosaurs will soon become extinct.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 04/11/2025 08:35

I was hoping it wouldn’t be Holly, but if it is, who will she be partnered with I wonder?

Nannylovesshopping · 04/11/2025 10:11

Holly noooooooooooo☹️

CaveMum · 04/11/2025 10:15

Lots of talk about it on today’s TRIE. Richard threw two names out that I’ve not heard so far, and he speaks as a producer who knows what work is involved in keeping a live prime time show on the road - Angela Scanlon and Chris Ramsey.

They also think Zoe Ball, Rylan and Hannah Waddingham will be approached but don’t think they’d take it.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 04/11/2025 10:20

Chris Ramsay could be good

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 04/11/2025 10:21

Zoe Ball or Hannah Waddingham even better - but no such luck

Please not Stephen Mulhern...
