DS 2 saw ‘ Barry from eastenders’ ( Shaun Williamson ) doing his ‘ Barryokie ‘ set at a festival in the summer. His remarks were ‘ most of the crowd were your age mum and you wouid have loved it ‘ ! He said he was very good. I can imagine his nice and it’ll be good seeing some old characters especially as it’s their anniversary year too.

I don't know how the Fruit&Veg stall keeps going , nobody actually cooks in their own kitchens .
Presume that Ian has a contract to supply local restaurants like Pete (original Pete not NuHead Pe-Ah ) who used to lug a crate of vegetables over to the Cafe . They talk about their suppliers and occasionally "Oh we've run out of lemons can go fetch some off Ian's stall)
Most of them would debate whether or not Ian was worth peeing on if he was on fire . But Pe-Ah and Oscar don;t seem to be rolling out of bed at 3am to go to the Fruit/Veg market . Original Pete used to complain if he got there late he got "all the pony gear"
It's not like you can bring the same stock out week on week (like Billy with his Antiques Stall of Tat )

They all seem to eat at McClunkys or the Cafe though brave Nicola made a Macaroni Cheese that her ungrateful sons snubbed , she bought them take away .

Come Christmas , Pe-Ah should close the stall and say "Don't come running to me for your 2lb of King Edwards and a bag of sprouts , you lot blank me 11 months of the year"

Back in the day you frequently saw Mark Fowler supplying fruit and veg to the Cafe and the Vic but agree that Pe-ta and Oscar don’t seem to do much by way of working with local businesses. The stall itself is tiny so not sure how they even make a living. They never seem to be at work anyway.

Whoever owns McClunkys must be a millionaire. Julie and Jean seem to be the only residents who cook at home. Suki has rustled up the odd meal. I have rarely/never seen eg Kat, Linda, Denise, Sharon etc plating up. Or any of the dads of course. Priya has been described as a bad cook and now we know Nicola is as well.

How Pe tah can afford to pay Oscar is a mystery!
I know that Lauren got him the job, but honestly , it’s a farce. He may as well work in the Albert or somewhere.

I actually thought Nicola's macaroni cheese looked really nice 🤣. I'm no cook though!

It did , and Nic did "Half Christmas" too so she can cook.
Her boys are just riff raff .Or maybe Oakie force fed Harry tinned macaroni cheese while he was captive and it's put him off

I like Mac and cheese ! It didn’t look too shabby, but then I’m not a great cook myself tbh.
I suppose neither of them were really too bothered about her food or breakfast though , she was trying to distract them really !

He's not old enough to work in a licensed bar unless he's waiting on tables or in the kitchens and his criminal record might put a prospective employer off giving him a sharp knife not to mention the fact he's a lazy little shit

70s ! Of course ! Wasn’t thinking there re Oscar.
He is 18 in December, but his record wouid put people off hiring him.

Especially if they've met him Though he'd go in, put his elbow on the bar , chin on his hand and say "I am just what you are looking for " then smile and cast his eyelashes down and to the side ."this could be your Lucky Day"
And they'd be sold because he does have charisma .

He may wing it! He is charismatic enough and 18 in a few weeks time too! ( can you work in a bar that young or is it different now ?)

Whit Whit's in the I'm a Celeb Jungle so she, at least, really is in Australia 😅

I can’t see this dementia-themed episode working. Nigel wasn’t close with Pat and Barry so there’s no emotional investment there. I have a sneaking suspicion that of the actors who were in the show at that time with Paul Bradley, Sean Williamson and Pat St Clement were the only ones who wanted to return or were available.

Yes, 100% this. Pat and Barry had some great storylines together but neither of them had anything to do with Nigel. It makes no sense.

It’s a shame they couldn’t get the Debbie and Clare to return.

I agree, the only ones which make sense would be Dot Clare and Debbie - and Grant. If they haven't even got Ross Kemp who came back for the 40th they are doing a poor job.

I agree, i actually didn't think Barry was even in Eastenders at the same time as Nigel. I had to Google, apparently Nigel was 1992-1998, Barry was 1994-2004. I don't remember them being friends at all. Pat is now getting the reputation as the grim reaper, she pops up for death hallucinations.

TBH Ross Kemp was woeful when he came back so maybe they didn’t ask him again. He’s better off presenting documentaries. I didn’t realise how wooden and one dimensional he is. Acting alongside the likes of Steve McFadden showed how poor he is.

Agree with all pp. Pat and Barry reappearing to Nigel is complete codswallop imho!

Oh well! It’ll be nice to see old faces during the anniversary year! I liked Pat and Barry. (Agree it’s a tad ridiculous.. )

After what Gray put her through , you would think she’d choose a lot more wisely.
Im shocked that the man doing the adoption process is carrying on! Having Ravi and Priya at each other’s throats isn’t an ideal situation for a child , despite Suki sticking up for him today.
Sweet that Zoe wants to help Freddie .. maybe they will leave together for Oz like Nancy and Tamwar did a few years ago now!

They brought Zoe and Antnee back so I don't think they care about 'wooden'!!😆

I'm a sorry but I'm with Vicki in tonight's episode. Although I wouldn't have gone so far as to follow him into the cab office! What a complete creep and scumbag. Can't believe Chelsea would have 3 dates with him - one is too many when you find out he is married. Why is she wasting her time with him?

Also feel bad for Ravi. But it's not like he can tell his family that he has turned informant, is it? Avani is right though - does Suki really want to bring another child into this dysfunctional family?!?

I wonder if Ravi will tell Priya he is undercover ?

Another quiz night, chrissakes do they not have any other ideas?

Did Nic really not anticipate that Harry might be a bit destabilised by his dad going to jail for murder?

Ravi is stupid enough to have Jack in his phone as Jack, and Jack is stupid enough to send him ‘handling’ messages. Surely Ravi would have a burner phone, have they not watched Line of Duty? 😆

I still have no sympathy for Vicky, dull aggressive and self pitying. I do not want to see her with Zack!
