Because that's all she does @Eastie77Returns ! She tells one lie after another, either for 'revenge', or just so the plot can be eked out for months.

But she is expending money looking for the baby, not the dad. And not her own money, someonelse's!

And like you say, it doesn't make sense and I am willing to bet when it's all resolved, it still won't!

It was always meant to be a Sharon / Zoe / slaters stand off I think, but with Letitia out of the soap for so long , maybe it’s all gone a bit wrong and they had to have a rethink ? Only my guesses based on nothing, but Zoe was after her money and made up the Dennis story.
I hope that the actual revelations are worth it , something like the time Cindy was hit over the head! Completely left field , but not going by this weeks episodes it won’t be! Lol

I thought about Paul being the Dad but his exit date didn't fit .

I did also think ‘ Fatboy’ ! He is a mumsnet EE thread favorite.

Are Vincent and Fatboy "dead dead" or just assumed dead / disappeared?

Phil showed Denise a video of Vincent being killed, but we all know that with this soap it means nothing much.
Fatboy actor fell out with the producers or a scandal or something like that. He was locked in a car at the crusher I think ? I’d like to think he got away

They are both “Eastenders dead” so could come back. Very few people are really “dead dead” on EE. It wouldn’t shock me if Martin returned for the 50th anniversary episode in 10 years time.

We saw Jasmine going into Lauren’s house but didn’t see her looking in Cindy’s room so I still think Cindy is a red herring and nothing to do with her.

Favourite EE Bloke was Ash Ferreira but his timeline is way off (left 2005)

Also agree with a PP that they must have had to change storylines to accommodate Letitia Dean’s absence. Vicki is swearing revenge on Zoe for the Dennis lie when obviously it should be Sharon and she is unfortunately a poor substitute.

And I know there isn’t much love for Michelle Ryan on here but I actually think she’s doing ok and handling a ridiculous storyline as best she can. I think the best of actresses would struggle with the absolute shite she’s been given. She does have some good liners and a dry sarcasm that works well in some scenes.

Zoe isn’t the best actress and is annoying, but we’ve had worse historically and her scenes with Tommy the other week were good. I agree that the writing is clunky and Kat and Alfie seem to almost be rolling their eyes at most of it sometimes. It’s not moving forwards much either , a bit like the Harry and Kojo one , it’s at stalemate.

How many times now has EE resorted to long-lost family / who’s the father / prodigal child storylines? It’s such a cliche. They’ve only just done George/Kojo and Zack/Barney. It’s incredibly overdone and very lazy writing IMO. And am finding it impossible to drum up any interest in Zoe or Jasmine.

The Barney parentage kicked off big time, now we no longer see him and Zac is another bit part.

It’s so bizarre. Zac went to all those lengths to claim Barney as his son and as a result was almost killed in the woods by Harry, beaten up by Nicola’s thugs and then…nothing. And Teddy never seems remotely bothered his son’s bio dad is just walking around the square.

Has something happened to the Nicola actress IRL? They are not even making up a story on screen to explain her absence. Teddy just said she had ‘disappeared’ and everyone accepted it. Who is running her bar since Gina is in hospital with those terrible injuries (after being pushed to the ground🙄)?

I'm with you re Nicola disappearing! Way too many of the main characters have just dropped off our screens recently: Sharon, Phil, Nicola, Barney, Stacey etc. Where is Chelsea? Haven't seen her in a while either.

I haven't seen anything about Michelle Collins returning to the show - she finished her show at the Fringe more than two months ago. I hope she returns soon and then this Jasmine story re Jasmine's interest in Cindy will get resolved that bit quicker.

It looks as if the new producer isn't at all interested in the New Mitchells. Teddy, Nicola and Barney have barely had any screentime (although Harry is barely off screen). All he's interested in showing is Zoe and drugs.

I agree that a lot of the Zoe material is poor and anyone would struggle with it. She did okay in her quieter scenes with Tommy. But I never thought she was a particular good actress. She is fine in the background, but having her carry a major storyline doesn't work.

I was amused today in the scene where Eve’s mum, down from Wakefield. was appalled at the price she paid for the bottle of house wine at the Vic. I thought that was a nice bit of relatable realism.

Harrys Barn bar runs itself now it seems.
The other day Elaine and Jasmine were nowhere close the Albert , yet they haven’t any other staff apart from Cindy and Freddie who was fired, so who was running that ? At least Alfie said that Mo was away for the weekend , but she is barely there as it is. The bigger absences like Cindy and Nic are not mentioned much and Sharon has gone to Florida !

South, not seen it yet, but London prices for alcohol and even soft drinks are a shocker.
The cafe and Stacey’s ( Eve’s ?) baps are fairly reasonably priced ( by what’s priced on the boards) , they need to put their prices up ! Lol

When the whole ‘ I’m your muvver ‘ blew up many moons ago , Zoe struggled a bit. She was ok with Jamie (?) I think that was his name , but where Kat was fabulous, Zoe did find it tricky.
Another theory online is Sam Mitchell or Chrissie watts is behind Zoe’s delusions. Scaring her off

I bet the writers are just waiting on certain characters to come back now ready for the Christmas grief and angst.

The way businesses are run on Albert Square is hilarious.

Who runs the Boxing den now both Sharon and Phil are away? Phil is supposed to be a savvy businessman but has no idea his garage has been closed for weeks

Who runs Kats Cabs now’s she’s FT in the Vic?

Who runs Beales Eels?

Kathy runs the caff but can just disappear to Manchester at the drop of a hat leaving Vicky who is just out of hospital to run it?

Why is Dee never in the salon?

The Panesars have a business empire comprising a shop and GP surgery that run seemingly themselves without staff and a Call Centre that was burnt to the ground and never mentioned again (was it rebuilt?)

eastie. It’s a gripe of mine too how easy they make it all look to run a business. Hardly any sign of deliveries or the endless paperwork. Elaine mentioned ID to Jasmine, but usually it’s ‘ ok, you have a job’ and that’s it.
Stacey left Eve to it , yet you don’t see her on that stall much. The various other businesses do run themselves it seems. I’ve never owned or run one, but I can imagine how hard it is just with the VAT returns to do ! lol
