And who will be the first to be banished from the table?

I have been wondering about something. Most of the banished (and murdered) players are younger, smart and would have quite a lot to offer in the tasks. Niko especially, would have been a strong player in tasks I am sure, Paloma would be all in, Tom is an athlete and so on. I wonder if Celeb Traitors doesn't factor in that value as much as in 'normal' traitors, as the prize pot is less meaningful to them? I know it's for charity and that's great, but most of them could easily afford to make a large donation individually, whereas regular players and really focussed on getting that prize pot up and there is usually a lot more consideration around how valuable players are in terms of contributing to tasks...

Dunno - just thinking out loud.

Glad Ruth is gone. Joyless woman.

Team Joes with a side of Nick.

Someone mentioned Alan laughing earlier and now I have an image when I’m seeing Jonathan as Dick Dastardly and Alan as Mutley. I am aware how much this outs my age!

So, pushing on, as a teenager, 20s, 30s I fully bought into the genius Stephen Fry thing. But, now I’m not convinced. However Nick Mohammed, wow!

At the moment, I am completely behind Cat and Alan and I think they stitched Jonathan up with the whole no traitors in the woods concept, it makes a very small pool of traitors.

Gingercar · 17/10/2025 00:00

I think Stephen, Jonathan and Alan are all experienced “show leaders” and used to using their own particular skills to get their show guests to do what they want. They’ve all been doing it for decades. Stephen gently persuades, or reasons, often with a slight upper class buffoon persona. Jonathan takes the Mickey a little and throws questions back at his guests, he knows how to steer them in the direction he wants the conversation to go, while appearing relaxed and as though it’s a natural hat. And Alan also steers the conversation but with sillines, often at his own expense, but it’s contrived. Very “oh poor me, my show is going off the rails and I’m being carried with it”. His silly giggles and eye rolls are very much done for effect. He’s not half as ditzy as he makes out.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 17/10/2025 00:01

I got confused at that part. What was their reason to not select anyone from the wood? Because there was 5+ of them so if a traitor didn't know who had a shield, the odds are in the traitors favour anyway.
It would hardly be a "gotcha" for the faithfuls would it? I was totally lost at that part.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 17/10/2025 00:03

I agree, Alan is very calculating and knows exactly what he's doing.

WirralCyrille · 17/10/2025 00:42

I got a bit worried tonight when a few people mentioned Nick at the round table. He’s been low-key so far, I really hope people don’t use his niceness as a reason to suspect him. I bloody love him! And I reckon he could be an awesome traitor if he was recruited.

tinyspiny · 17/10/2025 01:19

I’m getting the impression that Cat and Alan would gladly see the end of Jonathon and for me personally I’d like Kate gone as she drives me mad . Joe Mahler is wonderful but nobody seems to take any notice of him .

By not telling everyone who had won the shield it “protected” all the players in that particular group. It’s a tactic used a lot by Faithfuls in previous series and has paid off when the Traitors genuinely don’t know who is protected. By suggesting it Cat further cements herself as a Faithful in the other’s eyes.

There’s another TRIE reaction podcast which I’ll listen to later. Can’t wait to see what Richard and Marina think!

I cottoned on to that too about the Shakespeare thing. He even flicked to a page, saw a new name he hadn't referenced and said "oh maybe he died too, I think he did!" but clearly didn't know!

Yes, but it’s not a straightforward question if you know anything about Shakespeare! There are different sources and at least one Romeo and Juliet character dies in one text and not in another. And in Hamlet, there’s the question of which deaths you include. I’m not a SF fry fan, and I have an Oxford DPhil in Eng Lit, but I’d have done exactly the same and gone to look it up afterwards.

Superhansrantowindsor · 17/10/2025 06:11

They need to start using actual evidence. The main think they have is Jonathan being accused of back stabbing Nico. The two people who accused him of this have been banished or murdered. So two faithfuls have gone and Jonathan surely has to be more seriously considered as a traitor now. They have to stop this nonsense of saying things like that person looked happy, that person was too confident etc. if Jonathan doesn’t get banished next I’d be surprised.

Yes, he’s like Boris Johnson. The buffoonery is all a big act.

He’s actually incredibly smart and (in this show) pretty ruthless. No wonder Paloma was pissed off with him. She’s his friend and he killed her straight off the bat. Then, wanted to kill Tom (fellow gay man) just to cause chaos and see everyone’s reactions.

Ooh, Alan. He’s certainly enjoying being evil.

Yes, my first thought with that one was, "Does the ghost count?"

Late catching up with this season, but surprised-not surprised to see Tom overplay his hand attacking the women. Humourless peacocking sums up his appearance on Traitors to perfection, but good to know he used the opportunity effectively to plug his knitwear on a public subcription channel. I expect the sporties, especially those not in team sports to be ruthlessly competitive but found his targets of choice predictable.

I like Ruth, really sorry to see her go early but I think she misjudged how to play the game. The whole “alliance” thing was misinterpreted with hindsight - I think it was JR reassuring two younger players who had no preexisting allies and was surprised at Clare buying into that interpretation. I stand by that even more having watched the replay. However its a common theme of the early rounds, cognitive bias is a wonderful thing.

I couldn’t predict likely winner but it won’t be JR - he has far too many people wanting to take him down. Someone like Joe or Nick might come through. Cat is playing a blinder but may yet find Alan stabs her in the back. Alan’s persona is a clever act, I find it astonishing how many celebs buy into it unless its edited/scripted to make it seem that way.

I assume we are supposed to think Charlotte is going tonight but I hope I’m wrong. I would like her to stay in longer.

This bloody car conversation, I don’t know why they’re placing so much weight on it. It happened right at the start before anyone was a traitor. JR should have just said “I was just being nice, I didn’t literally mean I’d never vote for anyone in the car!”

I completely agree about Stephen being well read, priveleged and posh.

David's gone down in my estimation with his continued adulation of Stephen.

Meanwhile, Nick, potentially the real genius in the room, quietly goes about solving puzzles whilst Stephen waxes lyrical and can't remember how many people died in a Shakespeare play! Something one might expect a genius to know or recall without too much trouble.

Instead, we cut to him wandering about looking for a book of Shakespeare's plays so he can look it up.

Just like the rest of us would do.

And apparently believes Sherlock Holmes was the greatest living detective.

And, in fairness, whether you include deaths that took place before the play started. And Clare didn’t give him much time to think it through 😂

He's not coming across as very likeable - I know, it's a game, but there's something about the way he's going about it that comes across as not very nice.

I think when someone gets killed off on traitors that it needs to be more dramatic, so I suggested they get some wailing banshees in their room while they’re asleep… too much? 😂

The thing is that those nice rooms you see them in on the short films aren’t where they really sleep. They are really in a travel lodge near Inverness.

I’ve seen him in many things over the years, being interviewed etc and I think he’s lovely. Really kind and sweet, loves animals etc. I think he’s just enjoying the game as some traitors do, as it allows you to be really evil.

For those who have never seen another Traitors series my favourite ever is Australia season 2. Bloody brilliant.

The Irish one was good. Aren’t they showing it on BBC iplayer soon?

They kept arguing and talking over each other at roundtable 😂

NewAgeNewMe · 17/10/2025 07:36

Think it’s on after this one on iPlayer.

Stowickthevast · 17/10/2025 07:43

I think the car is relevant because from Ruth's perspective, Jonathan did say "you'll have two older allies", and then the next day was campaigning against Nico. As two young people who didn't have connections with the rest of them, it obviously did feel like a betrayal at least to Ruth. Now that everyone in that car who disputed Jonathan's version of events has gone, suspicion should fall on him. Celia was interesting in the kitchen last night saying she was determined to vote for JR yesterday then changed her mind at the round table. He must be very charismatic in real life. I think if anyone watched the last US traitors, one of them, a big Survivor star, played quite like Jonathan - Boston Rob.

I liked the Irish one, great characters though really terrible tasks. I definitely wouldn't start with Aus S2 which is the one that will have you screaming at your TV. If you haven't watched any others, UK 1 & 2 and Aus 1 are a good place to start.

And apparently believes Sherlock Holmes was the greatest living detective.

He's right there! (Sorry mis-read it, SH is the greatest fictional detective). And SF isn't the one who dressed like Sherlock Holmes at breakfast, that was JR.

I'm liking SF in this. I find him a lot more gracious and less pompous than expected.

The deaths in Shakespeare is a moot point, Clare fucked that up before they'd even had half a chance to work it out.

the80sweregreat · 17/10/2025 07:58

I’m not sure if AC is likable or not really. I read one of autobiographies once and he came across well in that.
I’ve always been a fan of his , but everyone has a darker side and maybe his just hamming it up here !
He is making me smile tbh !

Holluschickie · 17/10/2025 08:05

Glad fun sponge Ruth left but sad to see Clare gone.
I do not understand why Jonathan just does not say about the car incident " it was before the traitors were even picked". Denying it makes him look suspicious. O think he will be out next round table maybe.
Cat is doing very well but needs to speak up more. Alan too.
i would be happy to see Lucy gone..She's so wet.
