And who will be the first to be banished from the table?

Stephen is very clever - he tends to play it down. He went to Cambridge and got an MA in English Literature, and has written scripts, books (fiction and non-fiction) and articles.

As are other members of the game. Nick has a Cambridge PhD. Claire also did her degree in English at Cambridge (and like Stephen from a public school background). David and Wossy both went to prestigious universities after schooling at very bog standard comps in poor areas which I’d argue is a bigger achievement.

Its hard to compare academics as performers/thesps/musicians often follow a very different development path attending performer colleges or a more apprenticeship style start to their craft.

Fry is a very experienced performer, he knows exactly how to present himself on a reality show having presented and made reality type programmes himself. His schtick is the lovable old academic buffer and he plays it to perfection.

He is good looking but can’t help but feel he looks older than 35, might just be me…

He appears to be rather more good looking in Celebrity Traitors than he is in Google images 😳

Was anyone else watching the different ways they shovelled their dinner in?

Yes.

WonderfulSmith · 16/10/2025 22:44

Silverbirchleaf · 16/10/2025 22:43

Yes.

Same here. Some have shocking table manners.

CarefulN0w · 16/10/2025 22:45

The non-celeb version is usually 3 episodes a week for 4 weeks. But there are usually 20+ contestants and often have returning players. That won’t work in this version, because they’ve told them who the traitors are when they leave.

Do you think it'd make any difference if their vote was secret, rather than having to show the name they voted for?

As in this vote might have been 11 votes for Jonathan, (I dream on) 2 for David and 2 vote for Clare; but no indication of who voted fir who.

lol so true DH had to have a little rant about lack of table manners🤣🤣

That’s why Claudia (spellcheck changed her name to cladding!) was telling them they need to discuss more at the table and put pressure on. Better tv.
Wish we hadn’t got a week to wait! How often are the episodes on the on celebrity show?

Series 3 of non-celeb Traitors was 3 episodes a week over 4 weeks. The Celeb version is shorter, hence only 9 episodes over the 4 weeks.

What will I do when this is over?! Enjoying celeb traitors a bit too much… it’s the highlight of my week, other than bake off which I’ve suddenly recently got back into… !

dapsnotplimsolls · 16/10/2025 22:49

Nearly halfway and no Traitors discovered. Is that a record?

Clafoutie · 16/10/2025 22:51

Aargh, it is annoying enough when the contestants repeatedly spell names incorrectly, but now it is happening on here!
It is Jonathan and Clare!
( I apologise, I know being the spelling police is probably more annoying)

This would definitely make a difference. But I suppose it is part of the game, working out when the timing is right to be able to suggest someone without comeback. But your idea would tip the game in favour of the Faithful, who are a bit at a disadvantage under the current rules.

Irish Traitors is going on iPlayer when this series finishes. Then you can binge all the previous ones you haven’t seen ready for the next series to start in January!

Oh see I’m not sure it will have the same appeal if it’s available to binge! My DH and I were saying how we quite like having to wait (I know, I know) until the next week for a new episode. It’s a bit like the old days of TV… it gives you something to look forward to. I also like the comraderie of chatting about it with friends, seeing all the memes about it, and discussing on here 😄

Rentin · 16/10/2025 22:56

In uncloaked it’s always assumed that as a viewer we are on the faithful side but I’m always rooting for the traitors. I love seeing them get away with it.

Clafoutie · 16/10/2025 22:56

Bunnycat101 · 16/10/2025 21:52

Gahh why do they do this ‘he’s done nothing wrong but he’d be a brilliant traitor’ instead of ignoring what is actually going on in front of their eyes.

Completely agree, so annoying!

Yeah, you have a point. People are a bit dull this year. Not standing out. It’s also a bit of an overdone format is bake off… but it’s just nice comforting easy watching for me I guess

C8H10N4O2 · 16/10/2025 22:57

Late catching up with this season, but surprised-not surprised to see Tom overplay his hand attacking the women. Humourless peacocking sums up his appearance on Traitors to perfection, but good to know he used the opportunity effectively to plug his knitwear on a public subcription channel. I expect the sporties, especially those not in team sports to be ruthlessly competitive but found his targets of choice predictable.

I like Ruth, really sorry to see her go early but I think she misjudged how to play the game. The whole “alliance” thing was misinterpreted with hindsight - I think it was JR reassuring two younger players who had no preexisting allies and was surprised at Clare buying into that interpretation. I stand by that even more having watched the replay. However its a common theme of the early rounds, cognitive bias is a wonderful thing.

I couldn’t predict likely winner but it won’t be JR - he has far too many people wanting to take him down. Someone like Joe or Nick might come through. Cat is playing a blinder but may yet find Alan stabs her in the back. Alan’s persona is a clever act, I find it astonishing how many celebs buy into it unless its edited/scripted to make it seem that way.

I assume we are supposed to think Charlotte is going tonight but I hope I’m wrong. I would like her to stay in longer.

He tends to pull silly faces for team photos. I think he's quite shy.

He's been quite open about the fact that he's had some fairly severe MH issues. Found top flight rugby hard to handle despite being an England talisman.

I also get that it’s comfort tv. I suppose I am just losing interest in mainstream tv. Traitors is one of the only things that engages me nowadays.
