Watching on catch up. Always felt a bit conflicted with her, she seems nice enough now but I’ve seen a lot of videos of her behaving utterly horribly in Geordie Shore. Really nasty, bullying behaviour. I know she was a lot younger but can people really change that much? Just saw her angry face when she got criticised on Strictly and thought hmm she’s still got that side to her.

Amazes me how some people can totally excel in their careers after behaving appallingly (Peter Andre is another) whereas others get cancelled forever.

I have a friend who went on come dine with me and was talked into being bitchy about the other contestants - she came across in the edit as being pretty awful, in real life that’s about 5% of her personality, but on the show it came across as 95% because that’s what the producers deemed to be entertaining.

Strictly isn’t a show that shows people at their worst, so VP will come across differently, I’m not sure whether you want her to ‘show herself up’ or to never work again, but we can’t value everyone as only the worst we’ve seen and keep that going forever? Otherwise why should anyone ever try to improve?

Again, not going to do an armchair diagnosis but I feel like given her history she is probably now desperate to shake that image off and be liked. It’s worked well for her so far and she did very well in the jungle (did she win? Think she did, if not she came close).

But if the public don’t support her in strictly I feel like she’ll take it badly. She looked like she was going to explode with anxiety on the results show. Nerve wracking for everyone but she looked particularly pained.

Agree, there is an edge which is uncomfortable to watch. Let's see what happens. Hopefully it settles, but I must admit I don't find it easy to watch her high levels of anxiety on TV.

Apparently this Cynthia woman was in it.
I'm glad you haven't heard of it either.

Biographical film about Harriet Tubman. Famous quote:

"There was one of two things I had the right to, death or liberty. If I could not have one, I would have the other"

It's on tonight.

BBC One - Harriet

Biopic of Harriet Tubman, who escaped slavery and then led missions to free many more.

It’s funny when people get very irate when people don’t know people that they are super fans of.

I think if you’re not into musical theatre and / or don’t have tween girls, there’s probably not much reason to know about CE. I’ve seen the interviews with AG but can’t think of a single other thing I’ve seen her in.

Back to the OP, I suspect she’s just trying to fight tears and it presents unfortunately on her face.

BurntBroccoli · 13/10/2025 22:06

I watched her in I’m a Celebrity get me out of Here and thought she was great! Really funny and supportive, plus good at all the trials.

I hadn’t watched Geordie Shore at that point, so was unaware of her past.
Watching Vicky in that was like watching a different person. She was vile and a bully. I would say the same for Ricci her boyfriend who was a frightening drunk, and I’m pretty sure there were some very bad arguments between them.

In Strictly, she doesn’t seem to have much self esteem and is very nervous. Uncomfortable to watch really. Completely different from her persona in the Jungle.

cramptramp · 13/10/2025 22:15

From what I know about her she was horrible at school too, allegedly made the lives of some girls very miserable. IMO she’s a nasty piece of work and I don’t buy her nicey nice public persona one iota.

YumYa · 13/10/2025 23:18

VP comes across as nervous to me and is a bit OTT because of it. She'll probably calm down?

The fawning over Cynthia was ridiculous. Nearly all of them did it. I knew her face not her name. Tried to watch Wicked the film hated it. I loved the stage show.

I find this thread to be rather bullying. VP probably has mh issues. And yes she has a past but has admitted not being proud.

Loved her in the jungle.

I follow her on Instagram. She has horrific PPMD
I know how awful that can be because l suffered.. l could write a book on the things l used to do.. l once pulled my whole fridge door off and threw the entire contents all over the kitchen floor.
Hit my ex husband with pans.. got angry at strangers .. then was the opposite.. would cry at absolutely anything. My daughters suffer now.. both have the coil in to help.. even though they don't need it for contraception.

Am so sorry you and your dds have that. Hormones can cause hell.

Wow, is there something wrong with your comprehension skills? She's won an Emmy, a Tony and a Grammy award and been nominated for an Oscar twice. She's one of the greats!

Not sure what the deal is with the snippy comments about CE on here, if you haven't heard of her that speaks to your lack of cultural engagement, it's nothing to boast of.

There’s no need to respond like that. If you’re not a fan of musicals (I hate them) then you won’t have heard of her. No one has been rude about her. She has her specialism and she excels at it, but that specialism doesn’t interest everyone.

She was a guest judge on Strictly a few years ago, and because of that I recognised her when all the publicity for Wicked was going on. So if you didn’t watch Strictly then, and don’t like musicals then she’ll be off peoples radar.

MudLark87 · 14/10/2025 03:50

Yeah I actually think Vicky is permenantly on a false charm offensive, "ooh im so nervous and just so lovely" when Ive watched GS and she was a total bully.

Think it's quite telling that pretty much every other original GS cast member is loosely civil/friendly with each other fr9k time to time and laugh about when they had silly drunken arguments and had sex at telly at 18 eg Charlotte Crosby, Holly, Sophie etc when on podcasts.....When she eas the eldest by quite some way, has a conviction for using her shoe so violently that an 18yo needed multiple stitches in a barfight when V was in her mid twenties.

In the last few years Id forgotten about her past and when she mentioned it I kind of grouped it with the other girls but looking back now at her storylines I remember, she truly wasn't great. I also dont get how posters can be defending her behvaiour as she "was young". She was at least mid twenties when she was on it when the others were far younger.

YumYa · 14/10/2025 08:55

@MudLark87 I think a lot are defending because of the PPMD. Hopefully she's being treated for that now? Unbalanced hormones can make people do horrendous things.
Was she arrested for assault?

MudLark87 · 14/10/2025 09:02

Google says shes actually been convicted of two counts of assault. I agree about PMDD and hormones but her behaviour across first 2 seasons and further means I always think this the over the top funny sayings type person is a bit of an act. And as I say, other cast members occassionally speak fondly or pose for a quick picture or are seen having a polite hello at events like the NTAs....never with Vicky.

autienotnaughty · 14/10/2025 09:44

I suppose it’s important to remember that GS is a scripted show and she was playing a character version of her self, plus she had no control over the editing.
id assume she has a side to her but that’s not all of who she is.

No, me too.

Look for the interview with CE and Ariana Grande where the interviewer burbles a load of guff about “holding space” and CE burbles a load of guff back and AG takes hold of CEs finger. It’s all deeply embarrassing/cringey/comedy gold depending on your pov 🤣
