Vicky Pattinson - Strictly

Watching on catch up. Always felt a bit conflicted with her, she seems nice enough now but I’ve seen a lot of videos of her behaving utterly horribly in Geordie Shore. Really nasty, bullying behaviour. I know she was a lot younger but can people really change that much? Just saw her angry face when she got criticised on Strictly and thought hmm she’s still got that side to her.

Amazes me how some people can totally excel in their careers after behaving appallingly (Peter Andre is another) whereas others get cancelled forever.

Wow, is there something wrong with your comprehension skills? She's won an Emmy, a Tony and a Grammy award and been nominated for an Oscar twice. She's one of the greats!

Not sure what the deal is with the snippy comments about CE on here, if you haven't heard of her that speaks to your lack of cultural engagement, it's nothing to boast of.

This. Well said. All the catty comments about Cynthia, who actually is a real talent, when the thread is about someone else, entirely.

I agree that yes most people mature and don’t act the same as they do when they are young but she was 24 when she joined Geordie Shore and 27 when she left so not a naive teenager.
Her behaviour on there was truly awful, violently attacking others should never be excused behaviour.

Wow. I thought she was younger, like in her late teens in GS.

I've met her plenty of times and she really is nice! Very chatty, friendly and kind.

She has alluded to her ‘early career’ on strictly and said she did things she wasn’t proud of. I get it, we all probably did silly things when we were young but she was spectacularly cruel to other women and her and her then boyfriend used to fight etc.

Just not sure how she has been able to completely reinvent herself.

Easily: VP grew up!

Am I the only person who has never heard of Cynthia Erivo?

Probably! She’s won an Emmy, a Grammy and a Tony Award, and was Oscar nominated for Harriet

TheClanoftheDook · 12/10/2025 16:37

I’m not that familiar with Vicky although I’m generally not keen on people who make their place of birth their entire personality. She’s basically a professional Northerner.

The Scots can be bad for that as well (as a Scot, I can say that!).

Would you give me an example of her behaviour please? I’ve never seen and don’t really want to search up.

Thissickbeat · 12/10/2025 19:29

I just wish VP would stop screaming and jumping around like a hyperactive child. Ended up muting her last night.

I have no idea who she is either. Well, I realise she is a famous dancer now after seeing how they all fawned over her.
It was cringeworthy.

Very aggressive, bullying behaviour. Vile to other women. Was friends with the other girls in the house but often had violent fall outs with physical fights and really horrible language used. As mentioned upthread she immediately took against a new member of the house just because she was an attractive female and was really horrible to/about her. She also had a very toxic relationship with a guy called Ricci but I suppose lots of us have been there in our youth!

Sorry to quote, I know it’s considered a bit lame to quote on here but I’d not heard of her either.
I saw Wicked at a London theatre years go and didn’t enjoy it, in fact we left before the end so I’ve not seen the film, nor do I have any interest in seeing it or the show again.
We don’t all enjoy the same things but that doesn’t make us lack comprehension skills or cultural engagement, there’s no need to be quite so rude.

Another one who hasn’t really heard of Cynthia.

From the mention of Wicked, I know who she is from a couple of memes / interviews I’ve seen with Ariana Grande. But I haven’t seen Wicked and wouldn’t have known that was her surname.

Apparently this Cynthia woman was in it.
I'm glad you haven't heard of it either.

TheHillIsMine · 12/10/2025 19:50

For those that care about things being right, her name is Vicky Pattison.

Most people do daft things when younger, very few have it documented.

Arcticsway · 12/10/2025 19:56

I knew Cynthia mainly because she stood in for Craig as a judge a couple of years ago. I think I also saw her on the Proms on tv. Never seen anything of her theatre/film work though.

AngelofIslington · 12/10/2025 20:01

@Mistyglade
a horrific bully, to both anyone who disagreed with her and anyone who didn’t fawn over her.

Treated Rebecca like a piece of rubbish because she was obviously jealous of her.
Extremely violent, including attacking her then boyfriend.

Manipulative, playing guys off against each other.
Needed to be the No 1 in the house, bullied anyone who she thought was a threat to that.
Convicted on two counts of assault in court.

My god, that’s a bit more than being young and daft. I thought my PMDD with terrible mood swings and irrational attitude were bad.

Lulu and Lorraine Kelly immediately spring to mind of the professional Scottish person.
I too can say this I'm Scottish.👍😁

Boast? What are you on about? I did a quick Google not a full lifestory investigation.

Thingamebobwotsit · 12/10/2025 22:13

Didn't watch Geordie Shore so no idea who VP was until Strictly. But she strikes me as someone who may be has some issues that probably need professional help (I won't do an armchair diagnosis). I am not convinced she is coping well with the pressure of strictly and hope that she is getting support behind the scenes.

Again, not going to do an armchair diagnosis but I feel like given her history she is probably now desperate to shake that image off and be liked. It’s worked well for her so far and she did very well in the jungle (did she win? Think she did, if not she came close).

But if the public don’t support her in strictly I feel like she’ll take it badly. She looked like she was going to explode with anxiety on the results show. Nerve wracking for everyone but she looked particularly pained.
