He’s a professional fulfilling a brief I guess. I like the “focus on the dancing” brief a lot more than the “faffy contempowaft tearjerker” brief.

No theme this week and icons next week and Halloween - week 6.

I'm surprised they've brought back icons week; I thought it fell flat last year. There are too many theme weeks! I would definitely skip icons, and either movies or musicals. Halloween tends to be a bit naff, but it's such a big festival I think it would look rather weird if they didn't mark it.

They should do a ballroom theme week when everyone has to dance a ballroom dance to suitable music while wearing swirly dresses with arm hankies or tails 😉

I hate all the theme weeks! I think 'dancing' should be the theme every week and be done with it 😁

Yep - I'm one of those who says it every year (but I name change fairly regularly so I have probably said it under about 8 different names!

If anyone listens to podcasts, Harry is on today’s parenting hell podcast, it was recorded just before the strictly series started and is quite entertaining.

I’ve just listened to this, he’s so lovely! It was recorded several weeks ago before the show started so they don’t talk a huge amount about SCD, other than it seems they’ve all got man-crushes on JoJo!

It was absolute rubbish i think I Ff most of the dances.

I agree. It was more like "Mortification Week" than "Icons Week". The worst for me though was "BBC Centenary Week" - I've never quite gotten over Carlos doing the theme from Grange Hill with his scoops of mash. Or the other contrived shoe-hornings of TV hits (though that was the worst offender).

Poor Carlos! If ever I've seen a man gritting his teeth through a dance routine…

Oh I had forgotten about that Poor carlos not a clue what grange hill was and why did they throw mashed potatoes!

I suspect BBC H&S guidelines precluded the option of "flying fork bearing banger". Neil might've been impaled on a chipolata. Fluffy mash it is.

(although the mash was never fluffy at MY school. The chops, possibly, but never the mash🤢).
