I suspect that this kind of narrative is very much driven by the production values of the show. They will have hours of footage but will pick out the two comments that mention being Geordie, or Welsh or young or flexible or whatever niche it is they have allotted to you. They will instruct those doing interviews to ask questions that relate to that 'thing'. This is after all a show that repeatedly dresses sports stars in sparkly fake sports kit, makes Stefan Dennis dance to the neighbours theme and Tony Adams dance to the match of the day theme. They don't do subtle.

Me too, but I try not too hold it against the contestant. Vicky being a Geordie was referenced on ITT tonight by one of the Friday panel so she isn't to blame. Professional northerner is one of the roles they like to assign, particularly to female contestants for some reason.

Ross and Jowita have just been on local radio here in Edinburgh. He is so funny. They were taking about them doing the Paso this week and Jowita saying Ross needed to channel his inner Juan (Spanish name). She told Ross to add that to his name and concentrate. Ross said that was really difficult given his surname!

I remember listening to Ross on Radio Clyde what feels like 100 years ago before he moved to America then he did his show from there for a wee while.
