Oh I very much agree with you btw. I don’t like the overall tone of certain posts about Ellie personally but I’m just one opinion. I do think people are overall well intentioned and don’t realise how it could be perceived

We also have the right to accept the persona, if we wish to do so.

Am I the only one that can’t help but laugh when the judges have to do their little dance intro before they all sit down?! Shirley’s face especially she always looks like it’s all about to go wrong & she’s doing her best for it not to 🤣. But damn she can certainly move not knocking that!

I use ‘they’ and ‘their’ in that context as well. It’s a perfectly acceptable usage although maybe not taught today.

Oh dear, I'm accidentally spreading false rumours now 😬 It was definitely Joanne. I always enjoy choreography corner, always learn something new.

I hope that Ellie is well looked after and that she’s treated the same as the rest. It would be patronising otherwise.

I think it's already become patronising towards Ellie.

As far as Ellie is concerned, her people, and herself, and the BBC team will be keeping an eye on her and monitoring how well she is/isn't coping.

She may have LD's and a disability, but she is capable of advocating for herself, speaking up for herself, and knowing what is/isn't too much.

People need to give her a bit more credit.

I know, it felt a little bit of a let down. I was always going to cheer for her (big football fan) but Karen doesn't seem to be trying to hide it and she put on one heck of a performance.

Carlos is a little over the top for me when it comes to his VT stuff, but looking back, he really seems to encourage and support his celebrities and I think that he's great at getting a good show from them. I loved his tangos with Mollie. I'm not a good judge of dancing, but I adored the performances.
