Just googled it. It’s definitely not available in the UK outside of YouTube

Oh my AI answer lied to me! It definitely said you could watch it on Disney +!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/10/2025 09:14

It’s given you a USA based answer

Looking at the cast it is really just reality. Stars social media people and out of work actors. Oh and Robert Irwin Not much different from our cast really,

They’re reality/social media stars but it’s much more engaging. They’re all young and give it a proper go. Much better than the crop we have this year!

Tbf ours has only been on a week really and we have young people, although I agree the staging is a bit different from ours do it is probably a preference which you like, DWTS also has mixed ages i mean Corey fieldman is in his 50s.

LOL, you're the poster who was having a go at the "old" 50-something woman on the bus. "Old" people are obviously not your thing. I find DWTS completely bland with none of our humour.

cordelia16 · 01/10/2025 12:32

LOL, I think DWTS is better because the music fits the dances, it’s people giving it a good go, and they don’t have the sexist shit of drag queens on it.

for what it’s worth, I said older. Because she is OLDER than me.

CaveMum · 01/10/2025 16:53

Well that’s Thomas done for - Paso week 1 and Salsa week 2?!

AhBiscuits · 01/10/2025 20:35

Thomas dancing to Bonkers. It's like I've died and gone to hell.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/10/2025 20:37

Then it will surprise you to learn that both the Australian versions and the US versions have had drag queens competing before Strictly. Courtney Act was on DWTS Australia in 2019 and Shangela on DWTS US in 2022.

What has Balvinder done to deserve a Charleston in week 2??

Maybe what'shismame wanted some "personal space so wants her as far away from him as possible, what a weird thing for a dancer to say i want personal space

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 02/10/2025 10:24

@CoffeeishotSomeone upthread mentioned the scene in Dirty Dancing where Patrick Swayze says to Jennifer Grey, “this is my dance space, this is your dance space,” and I think that’s exactly it. However close you need to be - no gapping etc - one half of the couple shouldn’t be clinging on or draped over the other one like teenagers at the school disco. I think that’s all he was trying to say.

Is it too early to say that maybe they're trying to 'manage her out' as I think they did last year with Punam Krishan?

No i don't think that at all. I didn't see Dr Punham being managed out she got to Halloween week .

I know, but I think she was consistently under marked and given worse comments than her dances deserved. I got the distinct impression that she was not on the list of those the producers wanted to go all the way.

I honestly don't watch strictly like that, mainly for the dancing and the fun. After all the.controversy of last year AND the year before I would like a trouble free series.

If I was to think like that I would say they want their Bbc "stars" to go far.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 02/10/2025 12:22

You could twist it as a positive…that Balvinder has a flashy, memorable dance this week.

Personally though, there are VERY few Charlestons I’ve actually liked, offhand I can only think of two, it’s not my favourite dance.

OP posts:
ChessieFL · 02/10/2025 12:24

I’m the opposite, I love a Charleston and there’s lots I rewatch.

It could be seen as a positive for Balvinder - she gets the harder dances out of the way early on while there’s a decent chance she’ll stay in (I hadn’t heard of her before Strictly but she seems popular and Eastenders people tend to do fairly well).

Not sure what you mean by 'I don't watch strictly like that'. I don't set out to watch it any particular way, but you can't help but notice when the judges seem biased towards or against certain people. The scoring is (notoriously) all over the place too.
