Excited squeak. Been waiting for this as have seen sooooooooo many trailers for it

finally have a date. Starts sun 5 October and will run for 3w on a Sunday and Monday

The full series of six episodes will become available on ITVX on Sunday 5th October, if you binge don’t reply on here lol 😛😛😘😘

The series, which has been created by Jones and her Maryland co-writer Anne-Marie O'Connor, sees Jones play Bert, a conwoman who is released from prison on compassionate grounds, and calls her friend Sam, played by Whittaker, with the offer to team up and pull off the art heist of the century.

The synopsis for the series says: "Bert and Sam embark on the most audacious of art thefts, gathering a talented team of outcasts to help them plan this audacious crime.

"Whilst the team must overcome numerous challenges before they can pull off the heist, it’s the power struggle between Bert and Sam that threatens to derail their plans and destroy them both.

Set against the epic rolling hills of southern Spain and the dark criminal underbelly that casts a shadow over the glistening coast, Frauds is a complex and addictive story of friendship, deception and survival."

The series also stars Elizabeth Berrington, Christian Cooke, Karan Gill and Talisa García.

Jones has most recently been seen starring in Netflix thriller Hostage (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/hostage-netflix-ending-explained/), while she will also appear in Aimee Lou Wood's upcoming romantic comedy-drama Film Club (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/comedy/film-club-bbc-cast-suranne-jones-newsupdate/).

Meanwhile, Whittaker starred in Toxic Town (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/toxic-town-netflix-cast/) earlier this year and returned to Doctor Who (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/doctor-who-season-16-release-date/) for Ncuti Gatwa's final episode.

Her Paramount+ thriller series One Night (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/one-night-itv-release-date-newsupdate/) has also recently arrived on ITV, and she will soon be seen in the BBC's adaptation of acclaimed theatrical production Dear England (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/dear-england-bbc-jodie-whittaker-cast-newsupdate/).

The cast also features Talisa García, known for roles in Baptiste and Blurred, Elizabeth Berrington (Lost Boys an Fairies, Stella) as magician’s assistant Jackie Diamond, Christian Cooke (Rematch, Love, Rosie) as Bradfordian money lender Deeg and Lee Boardman (Enola Holmes, Andor) as Jackie’s mediocre magician husband Craig.

I’m interested 🙋

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/09/2025 13:40

Have you seen the trailers yet @BakeOffRewatch ?

BakeOffRewatch · 24/09/2025 15:57

No I haven’t your post is the first I’ve heard of it. I like “last heist” type stories and Jodie Whittaker.

everyoldsock · 27/09/2025 08:45

Hmm, I love Jodie Whittaker, but Maryland was awful and Suranne Jones is usually miscast. I’ll give the first episode a go and see how it is.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/09/2025 11:53

She was good in one night

Starts tonight. I may watch early as working tonight but obv won’t say anything till 10pm

JewelleryCat · 05/10/2025 16:09

I’m planning on watching this too. It looks good

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/10/2025 19:11

I’ve seen as just off to work. Will comment after 10

Peachy2005 · 05/10/2025 21:47

Hmm watching currently. Not sure, so far, as Brits behaving badly abroad makes me cringe… but Suranne looks like she’s having a lot of fun in the role 🙂 Early days yet I suppose.

JewelleryCat · 05/10/2025 21:49

Yes, I think it needs time to bed in but it isn’t bad

the80sweregreat · 05/10/2025 21:49

Bert is so annoying and I doubt she is ill.

daffodilandtulip · 05/10/2025 21:56

It's a bit daft but it's an enjoyable watch so far.

lazymum99 · 05/10/2025 21:56

I think she’s made up the Illness and the vomiting. Not that impressed with it so far

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/10/2025 22:10

Tbh I thought it was a bit slow but finally At the end they decide to do the one last job

bert Is def annoying and assume happy to do one last job as she gonna die soon

but some of you think she’s faking it. Assume she couldn’t of been inside for 10yrs

sam has led a quiet life for 10yrs making tomato moonshine 😂 and loving a simple life

so not sure why she agreed to do this with bert who seems a little bit silly and childish playing games like the petrol st
ation robbery that wasn’t

OP posts:
Peachy2005 · 05/10/2025 22:15

Seems like Sam is being blackmailed by someone else into interacting with Bert.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2025 01:29

Really @Peachy2005? Why do you think that ?

she seems happy to be her friend tho some may be guilt that she wasn’t banged up for 10yrs

OP posts:
Peachy2005 · 06/10/2025 01:48

There was a scene with someone putting pressure on her…I only watched the first so I’m sure I didn’t imagine it 🤨 Urgh I’ll have to battle through the itvx ads now to scan through and see if I picked it up wrong 😑

Peachy2005 · 06/10/2025 02:41

Hmm maybe not blackmail but just after the final ad break, she goes to see some guy called Viros and from the weird interaction, it seemed like she’s not really willingly being Bert’s friend. He said it could be dangerous for her, tells her to hold her nerve and do what she said she would do and to be her friend. I guess all will be revealed in time.

the80sweregreat · 06/10/2025 06:53

How has Sam lived for years paying bills and so on? The moonshine can’t be that lucrative.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2025 09:28

Guessing from the last haul they did

the80sweregreat · 06/10/2025 09:41

Reminded me a bit of a film with Steve Martin and Micheal Caine as two fraudsters/ con men in southern France. ( dirty rotten scoundrels)
Also the long good friday , ‘one last heist’ type thing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2025 09:49

I had forgotten about the sick and bag she had left - so who picked it up and obv was arranged to ‘puke’ there

Miss Take is their boss or was for doing jobs

Love Elizabeth Berrington. She is in lots of stuff

yes recap says sam went to see a man who said she can’t be there. Assume they did jobs together

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 06/10/2025 09:53

How did Sam know she was getting out? It’s been hinted at that she didn’t write or visit , so someone must have told her she was out on compassionate grounds. Plus a Doctor must have seen her and had tests , but I still think she isn’t as poorly as she is saying she is , but no real idea how she would be able to fake a scan or tests either so probably is ill.

butterpuffed · 06/10/2025 16:21

I didn't see Bert carry a bag when she left the car to be sick, also didn't see her drop one, just someone collecting it .

This was rather slow , and far too many scenes with just the two women, hope it picks up .
