I thought they were bound to do Down Under but even that obvious song choice would be better than Neighbours theme tune

I think it's unfair to do American Smooth week 1 - you're allowed lifts in that - they should go back to basics - was much better then - otherwise they might as well start with Argentine Tango

Pleased to see Amber Davies is now doing it. I’ve seen her in a couple of musicals and she was great. She also did Dancing On Ice a couple of years ago and was good on that.

I had an appointment earlier so was posting from the waiting room. I've had a chance to Google Amber and saw she was on love Island, I thought she was on an MTV thing, anyway she will be fine and probably the same sort of standard as Ellie from the other year,

Internet also says she wasn't on CBB like i said, I was sure it was her.

She was on a CBBC programme called Almost Never, maybe that’s what you’re thinking of Coffee?

I got the impression on the launch show that the entire cast were keeping an eye on / looking out for Ellie, there were lots of arms round shoulders etc. Hopefully there is also professional assistance available should she need it.
I think La Voix might get into trouble on the live show if he lets the Drag Queen double entendre out too much, not sure Alijiaz (sp?) knows where to put himself 😁.

Amber Davies is amazing!! I saw her in the musical The Great Gatsby in May and she is touring legally blonde from Jan 26. She hosts a great podcast called “call to stage” which I love and in fact has a live podcast show on Sunday in London. She is friends with Layton Williams who will be over the moon with the partnership.

Oh how exciting, I've just bought tickets for DD and I to see that.

Amber didn’t come across as particularly likeable on DOI so it’ll be interesting how she comes across on Strictly.

I actually love Stefan dancing to the Neighbours theme tune, I love a bit of pure cheese! It’s like when Graeme Swann’s first dance was the Test Match Special theme tune, they’ve done similar things quite a bit before and it can be humorous.

If she isn't likeable people won't vote for her she will be the dance off queen!

A friend of mine saw Amber in The Great Gatsby and said she was amazing.

Layton was on The One Show tonight. I liked him more in that programme than the way he came over on Strictly, but was surprised at exactly how much previous dance training and experience he had had.

I slightly know (as in, have been involved in recent several productions with) someone who played Brooke in a recent national touring version of Legally Blonde and was a cover for Elle (the lead) and Vivienne. She is an absolutely amazing dancer, as well as being very hardworking, unbossy and thoughtful. If Amber is anything like as good a dancer she’ll be excellent. I hope the audience will have sympathy for Amber being brought in so late, at least at first, and having to do styles of dance she’s not experienced in, but she’ll be the ringiest of ringers.

Can't. Chris and Dianne danced to Down Under only last year.

Could get INXS at some point though. Or AC/DC. Or Midnight Oil. And a goodbye final dance to Crowded House's Don't dream it's over.
