I don't really remember much about her there, tbh. Think she was evicted fairly early on.

I think she was a bit of a non-entity.

I disagree. I think the casting just asks who they want and doesnt widen the pond.
There's loads of female celebs out there on TV/ radio etc. I think bbc are picky with who they want.
Not that Im bothered about Dani Dyer. Not a favourite of mine.
Oh and my opinion of Nikita changed when he did Celeb Big Brother.

I was thinking of all the rumours that Stacey Solomon was going to do it, while watching Stacey and Joe earlier. Stacey went to a dance class with her sister and had complete zero rhythm or coordination. She said herself how shockingly bad she is at any attempt to dance, so I'd be amazed if she even considered doing Strictly.

I'm sure there is a certain amount of self preservation about it.

You are at perceived risk of being abused, or breaking bones! At the very least you are under severe public scrutiny. Social media is brutal.

That said, certain folk are desperate to get on - Narinder Kaur? Strictly obviously have their own standards they want to keep to.

I think it's likely they struggle to get more women.

It's a very demanding job, if you have kids. It's physically challenging, which not everyone is up for. You are constantly slated for your looks, costumes, dance skills and the press are always looking for the "strictly curse"

A bit yes, but they aren't just famous for reality tv and being the child of a celeb. SE-B is someone I can't bear full stop so that's hard to get past. Neither here nor there about Zoe.

I agree. If you are a nepobaby but actually prove yourself to be talented in something in your own right ( even if you've got a foot in the door others don't have) then fair enough. I doubt anyone has given Zoe Ball a job because her dad was a TV presenter in the 70's or Tom Holland got the Spiderman gig because his dad was a British comedian in the 90's. But Dani Dyer doesn't, as far as I can see, do anything apart from being Danny Dyers DD and turn up on reality TV on that basis.

I'd be happy with this. Better than having even more men to women and/or risking a two-couple final.

Well, Dani is still young and at the start of her career, so there is plenty of time for her to build something.

Either way, it's still a shame that she's had to withdraw.

Zoe Ball began her career as a runner at Granada working on This Morning., IMO she got her foot in the door because Daddy knew someone just like other nepos. Granted, she has forged a successful career since but Working In The Media is all about Who You Know. Getting a gig as a runner/researcher is extremely competitive

I can imagine that showbiz is generally who you know and not what you know! A lot like many jobs I guess.

Yes this, one of my children was on a creative arts course with a child of a well known person this child has soared and is now a well known person, so i do think it has a lot to do with connections as well as talent.

My dc isnt bitter but has changed direction because there wasn't that many job opportunities,
