It's all live on a Saturday bar the opening dance by the pros. Once Saturday is over they pre record the results and the performing act to broadcast on a Sunday and pretend it's Sunday night.

Oh , I thought they were pre recorded at the beginning of the evening !

Dear Lord, Paso and Samba's in Week 1 😱

I'm a bit disappointed with Stefan amd Dianne having to do anything to the Neighbours tune to be honest. It's just not original. They never made anyone from Eastenders to dance to the opening theme have they? I hope they won't make Alex dance to Doctor Who either.

Not hugely inspired by song choices overall, but I am looking forward to Lewis and Katya's jive.

Samba in week 1 is a good shout to get the potential dance off dance out the way.

Nigel and Katya's week 1 paso was epic!

Ditto Kelvin and Oti's samba.

I agree. SO on the nose. I was already annoyed enough that they put the two Aussies together. It's patronising and lazy.

Strictly has been on a long time now, and has more and more influencers, content creators, reality tv, nepos, than ever.
Maybe there are genuinely less people left who want to do it, especially those most of us consider household names. (Alex being an exception)
It's always been bulked out with a BBC presenter, a Soap actor or two, a retired sportsperson, an obvious comedy addition, etc
Perhaps the pool for subs (and women) is no longer there

It gets it out the way then thats it done, people will be waiting on it i think.

I see Amber Davies is taking over from Dani Dyer, im not sure who she is but I saw her on celeb big brother years ago, but I can't remember why she is a celebrity.

I have just looked her up. Musical theatre (9 to 5, Back to the Future, Pretty Woman and others, one CBBC show and LOTS of reality tv.

Looks like Amber is dancing tomorrow night, according to aMedia Centre article on BBC (was unable to link the article).

And it says they're doing a waltz, obvs going for the simplest dance for someone to learn last minute - Dani was going to do the quickstep.

I really don’t care that she has a musical theatre background, they’re going to be amazing together!

Lots of dad dancers this year; Amber will be a relief.

I also think Vito and Ellie are sweet together. You can just tell from his socials how much effort he’s putting in to it to make her have the best time!

I love stefan and Diane too but let’s hope they don’t push the Aussie thing too much as I don’t know it’ll work in their favour 🙈

I really really hope Ellie will have support for any dance offs. Although to be fair I don’t know anything about her other than seeing her last week. Maybe she’s tough?
