I am sadly out tonight so I’m setting this up early. Please move across from The Rehearsal Rooms

If we need to change threads midstream Sequins has said she will cover it.

Enjoy Launch Night

Thanks

I also think Amy is a brilliant person - so resilient and likeable. But I can't stand her saccharine choreography, and all the pointing when she's doing any Latin dance.

Not Geordie - Geordies are from Newcastle, he's from Hartlepool which is in the deep south (otherwise known are County Durham) and means he's practically a Smoggie.

Vicky is a Geordie

Oi! Leave the poolie alone.

I know his sister. I didn't know he was on it though.

What did Danny John Jules say to Amy that made her cry? I can’t remember that at all.

He didn't turn up for his exit interview on ITT and left her having to do it alone. I remember her struggling through it in tears while trying to compliment him. It annoyed me that he put her through that, tbh. Not cool.

Am I right in saying only 3 out of the 15 pros are British? Like, are there really no British champions who are good enough and who'd want to be a Strictly pro?

So what? I'd rather have world champions not a British quota. It has always been an international show. It's Strictly, not The Great British Dance Off.

Poor George nothing. He already has an audience and millions of potential voters, unlike Lewis.

I’m so disappointed that the wondrous Aljasz has been paired with the drag queen.
He was so rude when they did the meet up, disparaging Aljasz single win.
I think this line up is the worst ever. Too many reality TV people.
If they wanted to squash the drug taking stories the inclusion of V. Pattison was a big mistake.

Twonewcats · 21/09/2025 05:26

Kai
Neil - Latin and Ballroom champion with Katya
Lauren
Amy
Off the top of my head.

Does it matter though? Maybe some of them are still competing, or retired, or have "proper jobs", tried auditioning but didn't make it, or simply don't fancy doing Strictly.

KFG had to audition twice, although Karen got in the first time they auditioned together.

Neil isn't one of the 15 pros, though.

And, no, it doesn't "matter" - just seemed a bit odd.

Um, yep, I am well aware

What has VP got to do with that? She's clean.

I’m still shocked that strictly teamed Amy up with the apprentice guy.
Hes extremely unpopular, I haven’t seen any support for him whatsoever. Amy has been through so much and the fans want her to do well so much, I can’t see how they thought this pairing would work?!
UNLESS they wanted her to leave the series early to step in for Diane if there’s numbers she can’t do?
Or perhaps she’s got other commitments going on or for some reason didn’t want to go far in the competition.

I just find it the most bizarre choice i can remember from strictly. They got is SO wrong with this one. Where have their social media team even been looking?! NOBODY wants to see this!!!

I read that there was surprise at who he was partnered with - as if the producers did actually want him to go far in the competition given how popular Amy is.

I don’t think the producers had any idea that things would go so badly wrong in terms of the press coverage not helped by his reaction at the press junket. He’s not my cup of tea, but I think he’s got 1m+ followers on SM which I’m guessing is what they focussed on? In terms of due diligence, he’s not applying to be the US ambassador and he had already been on a BBC reality show so I’m guessing someone somewhere forgot/failed to dig a bit further to see if his profile would match the demographic of the strictly show - and most importantly their audience. Especially given the recent issues. Or they did, and made the wrong judgement call. That said, the fact he can’t dance at all (and isn’t in the John Sargeant/Anne Widecombe category of contestants voted back to return because it makes fantastic telly) means I don’t think he’ll be troubling our screens for long.

Yes, apols. I was born in Newcastle so know this. But to the 'watching audience' he'll be Geordie and that aways works a charm. See the comedian fella who did well and the enduring love for Ant and Dec.

MiniVern has a very nice voice.

He has an impressive amount of siblings. Did his mum have 14 children?

Mymanyellow · 21/09/2025 06:56

Neil is a pro. He might not have a partner this year, but he is definitely a pro.

Did nobody else notice how different Vito looks? His face seems to have completely changed , like he's had filler in his cheeks?

I thought this! In some of the pro dances, I was looking for him thinking he wasn’t in them!

Thomas Skinner is a pal of JD Vance and thinks Trump is brilliant. Fingers crossed this phoney is voted off next week!

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/features/thomas-skinner-apprentice-strictly-controversy-jd-vance-b2830445.html

Since there's no elimination next week we'll have to wait until the second week at least.

And if they give him a ballroom dance for the public vote, we know the intention of the production team I guess? He’s more likely to be able to pull a waltz off.

Thats disappointing. He gets more air time than necessary. Fingers crossed he goes the following week.

Well he'll have to do two different dances so his limitations will hopefully be exposed. He also doesn't strike me as someone who's likely to work hard and train well.

Cheating on his wife right after they got married.

Doing a sob story exclusive to the sun without managing to squeeze out a single tear.

Claiming it was a two week fling (if that makes it any better) until the OW provided receipts.

Setting up a lot of "spontaneous" pap shots with his poor wife and kids to try and help his public image.

Storming out of the show press conference.

Being a MAGA supporter and cosying upto Vance at a BBQ.

There's probably more but that's off the top of my head.

Edited

Urgh !

It's such a shame that Neil rarely gets a celebrity partner. He's a great dancer - some of the old videos with him and Katya dancing together are fantastic.

Agree. A benched pro is still a pro.

Nothing odd about having an internationally diverse set of pros. Just like any other job.

I wondered if they are working on the basis that Amy may still not be up to working with a partner who's potentially going to be in for a long time.

Come off it, it was obvious that he wasn't being serious.
