I am sadly out tonight so I’m setting this up early. Please move across from The Rehearsal Rooms

If we need to change threads midstream Sequins has said she will cover it.

Enjoy Launch Night

Thanks

Eine

I did not recognise Vito either.

Surely Dianne’s maternity cover (if needed) will be one of the benched women - Nancy, Luba or Michelle? Luba is too tall for Stefan, I would think, but either of the other two would work.

I wonder how far along Dianne actually is, given that they know the baby’s sex already.

that was my thinking, as well. Michelle or Nancy could step in, if needed. really no need for Amy in that instance.

surprised they've given Dianne a partner tbh. even if she's fit enough to dance (baby's health-wise - clearly she's fit enough!), won't the slow dances around her bump be awkward and throw off the balance/line?

He has an impressive amount of siblings. Did his mum have 14 children?

Yes afaik?

@AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta Thanks for the info RE : Thomas, I knew there were issues but wasn’t fully informed

It is obvious why they picked Amy - she is British (Welsh) so tabloids cannot concoct stories about Skinner not getting on with his partner for xenophobic reasons.
She has a higher fan base than Michelle/Nancy so gives him a fighting chance. It is the Yin/Yang trying to level chances across all pairings approach. Same as giving a Tory to Tony Beak (not that it gave Jacqui longer but worth the shot) or wholesome Aljaz to a controversial-for-some drag queen. And no, Chris was clearly joking around, but acerbic wit/being caustic won't endear them to public in general. Kudos to the pp, who mentioned the Steve Pemberton similarity. Cannot unsee it now.
Back to Amy: they could not really bench her, given what she's been through, but this series will be less arduous.
As a larger lady myself, I felt for Skinner in terms of his size - he looks like he will struggle, mentioned a corset contraption? Did they put him in spanx?! And - whilst Amy was referring to the horrors of halitosis because of the meals he was describing - she nonetheless looked horrified full stop and it felt awkward to me rather than "banter."

I think men’s shirts are attached to a 1980’s body-like garment to stop them coming out from under trousers. Maybe VG can explain on ITT?

StrictlySequinsandStiIettos · 21/09/2025 09:36

It would also be fairer for Nancy or Michelle to cover Dianne if she needs a break BUT the symmetry of first boot Amy taking over (when Lauren took over for her last year) along with the fact her and Dianne get on very well indeed (started same year and very pally) means I'd put bets on Amy doing it may even be planned for her to step in after Halloween 👀
I would not necessarily count it as done deal that Skinner goes first though, he may be week 2 as 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 voters put him through. My votes will go to Jimmy, Ross and Harry, if he calms the fuck down.
So it would not surprise me if Nadiya and the rugby guy go - she was First boot with an Olympian last year and does not have the fan base apart from Dan cheerleading her still

Ah yes, of course. Makes more sense. Thank you Here's Steve in drag (Wilma Dickshow in Boo to a goose):

So pleased that Karen has a decent partner, I hope they make it all the way through to the final. Feel sorry for Amy and also for Aliaz - not sure he knows how to take the drag queen's humour. I'm looking forward to this series though, especially as Kai is looking hotter than ever ❤️ Thank you for the threads @EineReiseDurchDieZeit

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 21/09/2025 10:01

From the group dance at the end, Thomas was definitely not a natural, but La Voix was very wooden although not featured very much. Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

CrushingOnRubies · 21/09/2025 10:02

Karen the ex footballer not the pro is currently on Sunday Brunch(C4 )

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 21/09/2025 10:02

No problem @ThmssngvwlsrndHappy to do it

Watching Robert Irwin in his DWTS first dance he blew our guys out - he was amazing!

I saw that posted somewhere and htought it was brilliant, and you know what also struck me? No stupid themed costumes! If that had been strictly he would have been oiled up and put in a loin cloth 😡

SwedishEdith · 21/09/2025 10:05

ChipsAndSaladCream · 21/09/2025 07:12

Thomas Skinner is a pal of JD Vance and thinks Trump is brilliant. Fingers crossed this phoney is voted off next week!

Yuk. Judging by how quickly Lee Ryan lasted (who now seems preferable to this Johnson lookalike), 🤞 he won't be around for long.

I thought La Voix seemed to have given up towards the end, was barely moving.

On the subject of giving Tom Skinner Amy because she's British, they could have given him Lauren, who I think would have been a stronger match for him personality wise (in that she'd challenge him more).

EsmaCannonball · 21/09/2025 10:47

Yes, La Voix is a middle-aged dad dancer but as a personality I liked him/her.

Thomas was very ill-at-ease. Aside from all the tabloid stuff I think the fundamental problem is his rent-a-gob career sees him booked to goad and rile up viewers and then to rub their face in being offended. Now he's on a show where you actually have to make the audience like you and he's clearly very nervous at finding himself in a popularity contest rather than a human clickbait contest.

I was trying to think who Julian reminded me of. I thought it might be a younger, bronzed, buffer Ben Miles but then it came to me ...... and I'm sorry to do this to you ........ Imagine 30 years ago Anton went on one of those grape-picking working holidays to Australia and had a fling with a stunning, Amazonian lifeguard (whose one weakness in life was obviously wearing permanent beer goggles). Now the result is this burnished, toned, designer-stubbled, flicky-haired, long-lost Junior Anton. Sort of like a real-life thing that would happen to Paul Robinson.

StrictlySequinsandStiIettos · 21/09/2025 10:47

La Voix was "safe" in the dance challenge on RuPaul (ghoul group number, Chris was a ghost - kept up but not a natural).
In the group number, Lewis shone (ringer klaxon) but a lot of focus went on Harry. Camera angles and layout meant some of them we barely saw, whether that was by design or not, but it felt blink and you miss them.
Looking forward to Saturday - see you all then x
Thanks for the thread eine
Have not seen polkadots - hope they are okay xx

autienotnaughty · 21/09/2025 10:51

I think Dani, Lewis, Vicki, George will do well and possibly Ellie, alex and Harry. Both on popularity and talent.
surprised Dianne is in the line up, but unlikely stefan will get past the first few weeks I’m guessing that’s why she got him over say George.

Mymanyellow · 21/09/2025 06:56

Neil is a pro. He might not have a partner this year, but he is definitely a pro.

Not sure if it's my comment you're replying to.
Of course he's "a" pro, but I was referring to "the 15 pros", ie the ones with celeb partners.

StrictlySequinsandStiIettos · 21/09/2025 10:59

Long lost Junior Anton Grin

Especially in the BBC shot of him in his white vest. I think it's the jaw and smile. Let's hope they do not get him to be Austin Powers any time soon. Wink

God love Neil. Always the bridesmaid bless him.

I know. I never understand why, as he's an amazing dancer, and seems lovely

He's had 3 partners and messed up every time with ropey choreo.
Kai has had 3 partners and done far better. So has Lauren.

Twonewcats · 21/09/2025 11:09

I don't really know La Voix - is she/he a more old-school drag act?

Not watched the launch yet but hope Karen or Katya win.
