Today’s episode. Max is such a wrong ‘un. I love him!

What would make Zoe a bit interesting is that it turns out she’s double crossing Max. In today’s episode she tried to rekindle their affair.

How I wish that Chrissie and Jake wouid return to EE ! They looked such fun now she’s out of jail.

They have zero presence on screen together she appears absolutely huge next to him with an enormous face and it’s just not credible.

Gosh, what a miserable wedding day that was! I know that it’s usually like this with weddings, but Patrick’s one was full of love and happiness ( for a while at least ) but this one was just dire. Max being Max though , it is as if his never been away!

Agreed, as a couple they don’t work. There is also a huge difference in terms of the two actor’s capabilities.

I had really hoped Max’s character might have developed a bit in his absence but it was like a time warp. Zoe and max have zero chemistry, but Zoe is very wooden.

I think Oscar nailed some of his mannerisms too lol playing his son too

Oscar is a brilliant mini-Max. He's a fab actor, as it's Jake Wood. I haven't seen tonight's episode yet, but I look forward to it seeing it.
Max has always been my fave.

Max is still whispering I noticed.

Does anyone like Zoe? I think the character is not working at all.

Zoe is annoying and pairing her up with Max ( so that Stacey leaves) is bizarre!

Zoe always was a bleak character. Kat always cut her a lot of slack because of the situation they were in and Zoe was spoilt by Kats parents too. She was never the happiest of characters historically.

I really hope Stacey doesn't leave without saying something to either Kat or Lauren about Zoe and Max.

What were they thinking, kissing outside the Vic in full view of everyone?!?

Max really is still the creep he always was. What does Zoe see in him 🤨

Max has not changed at all, I suppose that is realistic but it’s fairly tedious. He is wrung out as a character, I don't know where they are going to take him and unfortunately I don't think the producer knows either.

The best scenes were with Stacey and Max. Putting those scenes next to Zoe and Max showed how bad Zoe’s acting is. There is no heart in it, she’s just reciting lines. And she gets less sympathetic every day. So unlikeable, and yet no complexity, just misery and spite.

At least Lauren sees Max for what he is. But poor Oscar.

Best bet would be for Max to buy the car lot now Jay has gone and rent a place to live . At least Lauren would have a secure job then and he’d have a purpose in life! Unless there is a big twist with Zoe double crossing him for money , I can’t see what else he can get up to. Unless they are planning on him having it away with Nicola ? Zoe would be so mad at that one !

It's nothing to do with Stacey - he's not into her because he wants to get his own back for...giving him back his necklace or not giving him back the money he gave her. Silly reasons. But he is playing her.

I agree. But Stacey will be going to Brazil, so won't be on the scene any more so 🤷

But Stacey isn't on the scene, she's leaving tomorrow. And for Max it's any shag in a storm, he isn't fussy! I don't think he's playing Zoe (well no more than he plays everyone) and he'll drop her when it suits him, but I don't think it's part of any plan.

How would Zoe double cross him for money? He isn't even asking for it back. And she's tapping Shaz for money now.

Just musings about Zoe and money etc. She must need more than she may get from Sharon or maybe just for revenge on him for preferring Stacey over her ?
She isn’t working and must have built up debts from her life before etc.

It was like Shuffler hadn't been away with all the self pity shite. I agree Zoe was always miserable but the character is coming across as really snide and unpleasant. Agree with a PP that the change in her appearance perhaps jars with how we remember the character.

Max's self pity was really epic, he even managed to squeeze out a tear or two. He is such a cliche but Zoe could learn some manipulation techniques from him! But she is built like the Kremlin and can clearly crush opposition with her bare hands.

I think I’ve missed an episode - how did Jay get written out??
