Max's self pity was really epic, he even managed to squeeze out a tear or two. He is such a cliche but Zoe could learn some manipulation techniques from him! But she is built like the Kremlin and can clearly crush opposition with her bare hands.

Trying not to be sizest here
but Zoe appears massive and lumbering next to any of the other actors
literally like she could have picked max up by the neck and swing him about. Next to Stacey she appears cumbersome, wooden awkward and a total unit

it just doesn’t work. Sharon was big before, Tanya too, and Stacey at times, it’s not about being fat or heavy she is just huge a Total unit so can’t pull off the romantic scenes with a weedy little man like max. despite his age and being no oil painting he definitely always had a type and I don’t think he’d look twice at Zoe despite her being much younger - we know this as we know his character so well which is why it’s jarring.

Zoe would have suited better with Zac, but he appears to be missing.
I think the problem with Zoe, is her wardrobe, and her self pity. Her return could have been so good, it's been wasted

if they pair her with him then at least I know I’ve got a crack with Tom Hardy I suppose tho…

Jay has gone to visit his grandad who is poorly but the actor has been told to leave I believe? He made a few remarks when he did strictly. I’m not sure if he will return or what’s going on though !

Aww! Not happy with the remarks around Michelle Ryan really ( probably because I struggle with my own weight and find it hard to keep off myself!)
I do agree she isn’t Oscar winning material with her acting sometimes, but she is doing the best with a poor script and story line and being one of EE’s less endearing characters isn’t helping. She was always annoying and self centered before and her back story with Kat was quite tragic. We know that Max probably wouldn’t go near her in real life , but neither would she ! He is now a bit too old to be the sleazey womanizer, even if he has kept himself in shape etc.
No wonder many actors turn to drastic weightless programmes when they are constantly being put down for gaining some weight over the years or losing their looks. It’s a tough world showbiz.

Jamie Borthwick got sacked for using a disabilist term. Jay might come back with a new head at some point but he didn't really have much of a part anyway.
They probably could have used him in the upcoming Highway funeral drama.
I agree on leaving Michelle Ryan's size out of the conversation.

@Mondaytuesdayhappydays Jamie B (Jay) was originally suspended while they investigated the language he used while on Strictly, and Jay 'went to see his grandad'. But while on suspension he was sacked so he won't be returning.

Please don't wish Zoe on Zack, what has he done to deserve that! He's a nice guy.

When Oscar introduced Jasmine to Max I thought... yeh she's more his age/type, watch out Oscar.😬I don't think he would be interested in Zoe, but at the moment he's desperate. As soon as someone younger/lovelier comes along he'll be shagging them. Please not Linda though.

I agree that Max wouldn’t look twice at Zoe - that’s another reason why her being back doesn’t work. I’m hoping Michelle Ryan is in a short contract.

Agree with 80s and ginger, Michelle is tall and has put on some weight since she was 20, so what?? She’s still pretty (even if her character is annoying).

Poor Oscar and Lauren 😥
Not a Max fan, he's still addicted to wrecking families, was disgusted by him brushing Oscar aside in pursuit of Stacey.
Sad Jean missed seeing Stacey off.
Couldn't they have just phoned Stacey, she literally left a minute ago!
Stacey will be missed, she stole the show again in this episode.
Michelle Ryan is still very pretty. I'm bigger than I was 20 years ago too 🤷‍♀️

It isn't her weight I was was commenting on, it's the fact she is very 'built', tall with very broad shoulders, so she looks big and powerful when standing next to someone like Max. And that, together with her yelling and drinking, makes it hard to see her as sympathetic or vulnerable in terms of the baby plot. Although she seems to have temporarily forgotten about that in favour of shafting Stacey and hunting down Max. She is just so badly characterised (IMO).

Yes, i take back my previous comments when he arrived. He's very good. Today his face was so expressive.

Stacey didn’t get Julia’s Theme. Lacey will probably be back within a year, after a much deserved break.

I don't really have an issue with MR weight and think she's still attractive.

I find the ladies on EE too dolled up to be realistic. If I walk around town, everyone dresses very differently in real life. I wouldn't be working a bar all night in heels like these ladies do, and I don't even know anyone who wears heels anymore! I think some of it is just the vanity of the actors wanting to look good on screen.

I find all of the face-lift etc confusing due to older characters looking far younger for it compared to their younger peers.

They really gave Max an entrance. He was rather repulsive and slimy last night. Where does he get his cash from? I expect he will be back on the car lot if he's staying. I hope they hook him up with Nicola as she won't take shit and he doesn't seem to mind his brother's sloppy seconds.

Everyone is when they are new/return after a long break. It will probably calm down. Imagine if all new/old characters got an entrance or return like Anthony. We'd barely notice.

@Soukmyfalafel Who are you thinking of who's had a face lift? The only ones I can think of look like they've had work are Shaz and Kat, and it works for their characters that they are done up to the 9s. Everyone else looks natural. I agree about the heels though, they even wear them in the house which is all kinds of wrong.

It would be interesting to know where Max gets his cash! I think he used to work in insurance.

Max used to work for Wayland once. Not sure what they did , but they did try to buy the Vic once.
lauren was seen actually traveling to work on the trains and had a fling with one of the Wayland sons , Josh I think his name was? He also had the car lot too.

I agree with @Shellingbynightthat Max is 'wrung out' as a character. Unless they come up with a proper story for him other than the continuing nonsense with Zoe, he will either need to put down roots again in the square or engage with Oscar and Lauren. He seems pretty aimless and where has he been all this time, how does he make his living? I need more story to help me buy this one. I'm looking forward to Nicola taking a shine to him (not seen today's yet so maybe she already has!)
