Dropped today. I love Robin Wright so I’m really looking forward to starting it tonight. It’s about a mother who is jealous of her sons girl friend.

Finished it. Will there be a season 2???

I bloody hope not, I’m getting Rosemarys Baby vibes ! 🤣

@IcedPurple im not sure I’m correct though, I think perhaps vintage when attributed to clothing maybe older than that

but they were very ‘dated’ weren’t they ?

Yes, Cherry's clothes did have a distinct early noughties 'power dressing' vibe.

I was chatting with a group of students who told me they loved 'vintage' clothes. I said I did too, thinking of my 50s shirt dresses. Imagine my horror when they said that 'vintage' for them meant a time when I was already an adult!

Supersimkin7 · 12/09/2025 22:19

Cherry’s meaty pins were in every shot.

I was surprised by how good the rest of it was.

EachandEveryone · 13/09/2025 08:10

I feel bereft now! Any recommendations?

@EachandEveryone same here, I need some more no brainer TV, currently watching Brassic, but I need a break from it now and then

UpToonGirl · 13/09/2025 11:49

White Lotus, Sirens and The Good Sister are similar (sort of anyway) in that they are interesting/nice locations and houses and fashions but ultimately fairly fluffy in terms of storyline.

UpToonGirl · 13/09/2025 11:53

**Oops The Better Sister. Also We Were Liars but it's more teen rather than adults.

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/09/2025 11:57

@UpToonGirl the prosthetic penis surrounded by yellow pubes in the first episode of White Lotus put me off I had to stop watching it in case of a repeat shot 🤣🤣🤣

😂 you have to push through! Tbh I didn't enjoy S1 much, the others are better imo...although there is a fair amount of nudity if that not your thing!

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/09/2025 12:11

@UpToonGirl the pubes were copious, looked like one of those yellow washing up scrubby sponge things, traumatised 🙈

Buiderswoe · 16/09/2025 15:21

I like it more than I should have! I really liked the storytelling from two perspectives and how people remember the same thing completely differently. You could totally imagine how an innocent word or action could be perceived as a slight when it was not meant to be. I can’t believe they spend the whole series arguing over that guy though…he was a simpering mummies boy! Should have been a red flag for Cherry right from the start but I suppose she was willing to overlook that for the £££!

IPartridge · 17/09/2025 10:32

I've got 1 episode to go. I'm enjoying it. Don't find the acting that bad.

I haven't encountered Olivia Cooke before. She reminds me so much of Kate Winslet.

I don't either, with the exception of Tanya Moodie. I agree with a PP that she is miscast here.

Sirens on netflix has a similar vibe.

Just seen @UpToonGirl already recommended!

Meaty?! God if her legs are meaty mine must be wagyu beef!!!!

IPartridge · 17/09/2025 21:51

Watched the last episode. Super silly!

The writers seemed to forget that Daniel was a doctor 🥴

autienotnaughty · 17/09/2025 22:09

I really enjoyed it , funny and dark. Both MC were excellent.

Exactly. She had fabulous legs which is why she had them on show the whole time! Meaty, yeah right.

IcedPurple · 21/09/2025 11:01

Just finished. A bit daft, but I liked it. Good pace, mostly well acted and the story kept you guessing. I liked the dual perspective too. Poor 'ol' Daniel. He's stuck for life now, isn't he?

Pinkapron · 23/09/2025 22:11

It needn’t have ever got so far if the stupid boyfriend wasn’t so completely wet!
Other than the money of course, what in earth did she see in him?!
we loved it!

Just finished it too and yes, it was a very silly ending after the rest of the series. Agree about the outfits Cherry wore, thought it was just me being an old gimmer and not knowing about fashion! Glad I watched it though.

PrimeTimeNow · 25/09/2025 21:29

I think Cherry was meant to be dressed to look cheap/ tarty/ downmarket - she’s young, poor and desperate to claw her way up

Daniel didn’t ever seem to have to go to work! JUST like junior doctors in the NHS - not!

RW is brilliant

My husband feels more compassion for Cherry because he thinks Laura is worse.

I can’t get past Cherry re the wedding.

I’m not defending Laura or anything she does BUT…I really, really wouldn’t want Laura for MY son.

Yeah, Cherry's clothes looked dated and a bit desperate. All micro minis, body con and stiletto heels. Kind of like what she thought a go-getting career girl in London ought to be wearing, and maybe they were wearing a quarter of a century ago, but times change. The posh gels in her office were dressed much more casually, because they didn't need to try.

And yeah, Daniel was a trainee trauma surgeon, of all things, but seemed to have all the time in the world to do whatever he fancied?

BretonStripe · 26/09/2025 18:32

Just finished it after bingeing from my sick bed this week.

Also loved the property porn, outfits (Laura's, mostly), silliness, dual perspective (thought there were continuity errors the first time, then realised like a pp said, everyone remembers things slightly differently).

Can't believe how many Team Cherry's there are on here ! I am 100% Team Laura (I'd drug my adult son if he was that pathetic 😆). Agree Tanya Moodie played her Motherland character again, and yes why didn't Dr One Shift do CPR on mummy?! And come on, as if Laura's phone was under that unit for a year (love how it was Moses the cat who found it tho, haha). Sack the cleaner.

Overall an enjoyable nonsense watch. Also binged The Guest this week, very similar vibes.

Off to check out Sirens now, thanks for the recommendation.

Delatron · 27/09/2025 13:40

I also can’t believe the amount of Team Cherry on here. I mean to me she seemed like a murderous psycho. Maybe it’s Mums of sons who sympathise a tiny bit with Laura. She was out of order but not to Cherry’s level. Fascinating how we all interpreted it differently.

It was a load of nonsense but gripping all the same. And RW was fab.
