Incessant Qs from DS, he has seen a trailer with Rose in, and Daleks??? Badgering me to know who the little girl is, who the archaeologist with the screwdriver is, one of them/both of them must be Rose? He needs to know if Donna is dead or not, etc. etc.... can't wait til next week!!!!

I missed last weeks, so spent the whole of this weeks episode, frowning and not having a clue what was going on.

Also, I wish we could have one episode where Donna doesn't cry.

Monkeytrousers · 07/06/2008 20:33

I was thinking about who would be a female doctor a few days ago. If it was anyone, Alex Kingston could pull it off!

Monkeytrousers · 07/06/2008 20:37

Do some of you think Kingston is an older Rose?

stitch · 07/06/2008 20:40

no, i think kingston is a completely new character.
i actually thought todays episode was brilliant. considering i thought last weeks rubbish, thats quite a turnaround. basically, i think, it shouldhave run as just one lone special.

you lot are rose obsessed. forget the blonde bint for a while

arf, oh, well, all bets weren't off, I should have put money on it

Still, it was marvellous. And clever old Moffat, creating some mythology of his own that doesn't include the fabled Rose. I'm looking forward to the story of Rose concluding now.

JackieNo · 07/06/2008 20:55

I did wonder for a minute, when she said she'd seen the end of the world with him - didn't Rose and the Doctor see the end of the world, quite early on in the Christopher Eccleston series. But no, I guess not.

stitch · 08/06/2008 10:13

she said she had seen the end of the universe. not the end of the world.
martha went pretty close to the end of the universe. rose only went tot he year five billion, the official end of the earth

JackieNo · 08/06/2008 12:01

Ah - good point. Thank you.

She's just a companion in his future - all those longing looks were borrowed straight from Rose. The only reason he'd given her his screwdriver and told her his name was because the older 'him' knew he had to to make the whole library thing work. But obviously she didn't realise that, not knowing she was going to die and all that.

Real question is, if she knew him when he was much older, how the hell will they cover that in future - obviously Tennant isn't going to play the Doc for enough time for him to grow old, he's going to have to regenerate fairly soon so what 'timey wimey' nonsense will they concoct to cover that?

RustyBear · 08/06/2008 19:11

But was he much older? - she just said something like 'your eyes look younger', not 'Gosh don't you look young!'

And it really was Captain Jack's thing that made the square hole in the wall/floor(according to Srephen Moffat on DW Confidential)

wobblyknicks · 08/06/2008 19:17

No, she went on about "you're YOUNG, younger than I've ever seen you" etc etc, being really surprised.

Hadn't seen Confidential but the way Cap'n Jack puts it about, would reckon he'd give anything to anyone for a smile so doesn't surprise me that she had that

RustyBear · 08/06/2008 19:29

The 9th doctor took it off him (swapped it for a banana) - so it ended up in the Tardis & she presumably took it.

Forgot the bit where he swapped it for a banana

I reckon knowing she was going to die and that he'd need something to prove to his earlier self he could trust her would be circumstance enough but then he also proves he doesn't know everything about himself and his future - ie with the clicking to open the tardis doors, so he could be wrong and there's a few things that'd persuade him to share his name, or other stuff.

wobblyknicks · 08/06/2008 19:48

Plus I think the 'can't share my name except in very special circumstances' bit is a red herring to hide the fact his name is actually Darren

Monkeytrousers · 08/06/2008 20:41

Te next doc will be a woman and Kingston a lezzer
