Where There's Cake, There's Hope...Bake Off 25

The new series starts on Tuesday 2nd September and the bakers have been named. A few weeks earlier than recent seasons, so taking us nicely from late summer through to the cosiness of autumn.

No change to the team of Paul, Prue, Noel and Alison, which I thought worked well last year - it was a warmer and kinder programme than it has been for a few years.

The usual eclectic mix of contestants, but less of an age spread than some years - a lot of 30 somethings, no-one under 20 or over 60.

Anyone else excited for this season?

Evening all! Never heard of monkey bread before

So...I am not a fan of Hobnobs but can report the recipe featured on the show is flipping delicious!

They look delicious

This looks epic 🙌🏽

FawnDrench · 16/09/2025 20:10

Well - these monkey bread concoctions all sound delicious!
I’ve never even heard of it but some of the combinations are wonderful…

Not2identifying · 16/09/2025 20:14

I'm not going to be so opinionated this week. I have much more to say about biscuits than I do bread, much as I love the latter.

NotMyRealAccount · 16/09/2025 20:16

Never heard it called monkey bread before. They all sound delicious, though. (Early prediction for Iain to go home after saying that bread was his thing.)

Wolbutter · 16/09/2025 20:33

I love the look of the monkey breads, but not interested in those iced ring donuts at all. When I was a kid we always had jam filled donuts dipped in sugar - much nicer!

mumofoneAloneandwell · 16/09/2025 20:35

My dd LOVES these donuts so i'm watching to try and learn 😭

LeaAndDer · 16/09/2025 20:40

I love an iced ring donut but could never be faffed to make them.

CrushingOnRubies · 16/09/2025 20:42

Also not interested in these donuts. One the foods which my non existent gall bladder hates and even the smell is too much like my body knows

Pancakeflipper · 16/09/2025 20:46

I'm fussy with my donuts. They have to be gorgeous and fresh for me to eat one.

Never had a Krispy Creme. Never appeal.

Well.done Jasmine - yours did look the best..

NotMyRealAccount · 16/09/2025 20:49

I'm also not tempted by the doughnuts. DH likes them, but he's happy with the £1 for five sort from the supermarket.

FawnDrench · 16/09/2025 20:50

Will Pui Man pull it out of the bag again with the showstopper like last week I wonder.

Pancakeflipper · 16/09/2025 20:52

Ahhhh showstopper bread week.... Remember the lion ? I still think 'wow' whenever that gets shown.

Pancakeflipper · 16/09/2025 20:59

Serious lack of dogs and cats this week

Pancakeflipper · 16/09/2025 21:01

Not a lack of black gloves and plasters.
Sharp knives this week.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 16/09/2025 21:01

Me too Toby, I love Christmas

Not a fan of raisins though

mumofoneAloneandwell · 16/09/2025 21:05

Tom's been taking tips from The Apprentice lot about making turds 😭

A turd tree... do you think Tom will work his magic and make it less turdy?

Umbilicat · 16/09/2025 21:08

Pui Man, Toby or Aaron to go. The first two haven’t been that good over the last couple of weeks, so it’s only a matter of time anyway ….

Definitely 🤭

Pancakeflipper · 16/09/2025 21:11

Oh Toby... missing you already.

NetZeroZealot · 16/09/2025 21:16

They use a thermometer now to test if it’s done?

Toddlerteaplease · 16/09/2025 21:19

Pui man to go.

Pancakeflipper · 16/09/2025 21:19

Jasmine's looked like a work of art.

Tom's tree wasn't turd like.
