I know this is a really radical thought, but I wonder if it occurred to Zoe that she could get a job and earn her own money to ‘find her boy.’
I know she has picked up a few shifts in the pub, but what about before? What has she been doing all her life?!

I think Zoe is being really shady and I think it’s because she’s lying (yet again). She’s admitted Dennis isn’t the father but she’s very shady about other details too. I think it could be that her boy twin died and actually it was the girl who survived. Jasmine is her and Anthony was the father. This is why Jasmine turned up on the square, tracking down Zoe to make her pay, because that’s the kind of impossible, ridiculous coincidence that happens in Walford and never in real life (see also George and the girls just happening to make their home in Cindy’s old ‘hood, and astonishingly just at the same time she miraculously returns).

Julie and Nigel don’t have much money, but the launderette is only across the way and the salon ! Julie could pull in a few favours from others to help out while Phil is away to get him sorted out. She is now working full time as well. It’s too much for her to care for him.
