He can still work as a lawyer but he won't get a good reference from his ex employer.

If Johnny goes it alone I suppose that not getting a good reference from his old job isn’t the end of the world, but depends which type of work he is specializing in maybe? Again , no idea , but he seemed to write himself off a bit !
