this is the third time recently we have had a 'wedding' but no mention of the actual legal/civil realities
unless a lot has happened off screen neither Kat and Alfie, Patrick and Yolande or Peter and Lauren are actually married
even if the pub is a licensed wedding venue (how could that have been arranged since the pub and presumably the licence has just changed hands)...even then a wedding can't be legally arranged in such a short space of time

I know its only a soap opera but I actually think there is a public information duty here. Legal marriage brings considerable protection for women and children, including where a spouse dies intestate. If women are lead to believe that a fancy frock, some flowers and some nice words makes them married, this makes them and their children vulnerable.

And much as I love Kim, when did she apply to be a celebrant and who licensed her??

I thought that places had to be approved in order to be married in them and so on. That usually address this at the start of the ceremony etc.

I was startled to see Elaine pop up last night wearing a silky nightie like the one my mum used to have in the 1970s, except my mum never wore hers to work.

I think Stacey is going to go to Brazil. She's clearly miserable about staying and that doesn't fit with a plot device about appreciating family.

They used to all get married at the church or registry office (minus Ronnie/roxy and suki/Eve who had a hotel wedding )

then back to the blood Vic for a celebration party of sarnies and crisps

never a sit down meal - equally that’s the cost of weddings at £100per head for a sit down meal so maybe why ee all do it cheap as they invite everyone in the square
