I do rather like oscar. He’s funny and reminds me so much of max. I assume max will be coming back soon to see his son and maybe meet his daughter - she’s a mini max as well

So we have Mitchell’s galore and mummy Mitchell is getting notches on her bed post with a few in the square 😂😂

we have a wedding to look forward to. Sept 1 - in the bloody Vic again - that’s if they get married and yeah man Patrick doesn’t lose all his money (and howies)

kat and Alfie own the vic, still not sure how got a mortgage for the rest in 2 days - plus poor Stacey - that money was for her kids

talking of money - suki is gonna buy a baby. That’s if goes ahead with the idiotic plan. Esp once Ravi and Priya know - I’m still hoping Avain has an abortion.

Vicky still owes shaza thousands and def isn’t paying back £2k a month like she said

joel isn’t a nice boy and needs to taught a lesson or five - he will get into more trouble

glad Nigel has his wife and now to find someone for Phil. Prob be shazza - if she ever returns. Assume she has some personal stuff going on in real life

can’t think of anything else but sure I’ve missed loads our

@the80sweregreat No course she won’t! The script writing is selective. Most of it’s nonsense but barely missed an episode since 1985 😂😂

Totally agree addictive nonsense. I used to video record it when I was on holiday 🙈

lazymum99 · 25/09/2025 11:27

Yup. I remember the excitement when you could first set a timer to record all the programs when you were on holiday. If anything put the timing out it all went wrong!

I used to tape it on a Tuesday and Thursday plus the omnibus on a Sunday whilst also watching it as it recorded. Madness

Another lifer here, I've not missed many episodes in 40 years! I also used set the timer to record when I went away! I also remember every programme in the TV Guide had some sort of numerical code which I put into the remote, it's so long ago now.

I remember being a teenager (ok, late teenager) and laying on my bed watching the first episode on the portable telly that had been a Xmas present a couple of months before. Yes, it probably had a bunny-ears aerial sitting on top. Apart from a couple of post-partum dropouts due to exhaustion, I’ve always followed it.
These days I get frustrated at the accelerated character development - two episodes and we’re expected to actually care.
And nobody seems to be experiencing anything near normal, ordinary trials of everyday life, which I think is the backbone of a good soap as well as the massive intriguing open mouth events.

bizzey · 25/09/2025 16:13

Those of us who have watched it from the beginning as teens /late teens ..we must all be of a similar age bracket now.

I remember watching in my house share while at college.
Religiously !

Cup of tea and jammy dodgers !

And Monday and Wednesday was Corrie .

Luckily, nothing was on , on a Friday as we were all out 🤣🤣.

Do you think young people now watch it like we did .

Some of you started watching at 14 say.

Would 14/15 year olds be watching now ?

My DS's know about EE and some of the characters only due to osmosis !

They would never choose to sit down and watch it.

I suppose there is too much other stuff out there for them to watch.

I am trying to imagine the bus ride to school with the teens discussing what happened on EE last night (add any night !).

gingercat02 · 25/09/2025 17:50

I'm pretty much the same age as Sharon, Ian and Michelle so that's a whole lifetime dedicated to EE or the awful shouty programme as DH calls it.

the80sweregreat · 25/09/2025 18:28

It has become a lot more shouty lately ! Too many people being hit too ;(

Catpiece · 25/09/2025 18:32

All of us “Lifers” Whats been your stand-out, most memorable episodes ever? Mine will always be the revelation of the father of Michelle’s baby. Lots of the men got phone calls or left what they were doing. One was Ali who owned the cafe and Ozcabs. Can’t bloody remember who else (apart from Den obvs)

The Christmas episode where Lauren's video outed Stacey and Max's affair

the80sweregreat · 25/09/2025 18:37

Cat , one of the suspects for Michelle’s child was Andy o Brian who was with Debbie and were the ‘ yuppies’ of the square in 85 !

gingercat02 · 25/09/2025 18:38

Yep Chelles baby daddy, Angie and Dens Christmas divorce, Bradley dying 😢, the whole who killed Lucy saga and Frank's revolving bow tie 🤣
Oh and the Grant Shaz Phil love triangle

the80sweregreat · 25/09/2025 18:38

For me it’ll be ‘ merry Christmas Ang ‘ ! The divorce papers. Her face was a picture.
Sharon gate was good too.

Catpiece · 25/09/2025 18:38

Yes! How could I have forgotten the lovely Andy!

Oh that was brilliant wasnt it.

Fantasea · 25/09/2025 18:54

For me it was Sharongate or maybe the episode where Kim gave birth in the Minute Mart stock room with Phil as the midwife, his acting was brilliant and I laughed so much, his face!

gingercat02 · 25/09/2025 19:00

What about super nurse Sonia doing a tracheotomy on the Vic floor with the lemon knife and a biro

Catpiece · 25/09/2025 19:17

So many great episodes which have outweighed the dross and kept us watching

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/09/2025 19:37

@bizzey I was 11/12. My mum hated me watching it but she never stopped me

@gingercat02 me too. In 52. I think they are about that

@Catpiece. yes

who was the father of Michelle’s baby

Who shot Phil

who was Kat shagging

who killed Lucy

the affair Stacey /max

tbh a lot of the Xmas day ones as that was the wow factor

I hated the Derek & Kat storyline he was such a vile creep. Glad he died. Also hated Darren being the father of heather's baby. That was grim
