OMG, can't they all just learn to get along?! 😩

Another few weeks of snoozeworthy arguing and attention-seeking to go - from these brats!

As you were folks!

Well if she does, that would put to bed all the fawning of her on here as being switched on and intelligent. He’s not gaslighting or pretending he’s something he isn’t. He’s showing everyone in there who he is. Every single day. So if someone actually chooses to go into a relationship with him, they deserve all the fallout that’s coming. If he’s like this on the inside, he would be an absolute nightmare on the outside. He’s got a lot of growing up to do.

I don’t think she’d get back with him, but unless there’s some votes/exits before a recoupling, Helena and Shakira are gonna end up with Harry and Blu in some combo so they’d be forced into friendship couples or have to leave, which seems unfair as they’d want to stay with their friends till a fixed dumping occurs. I think the producers must surely have some plan because no one wants Blu and recoupling Harry with either girl at this point seems a bad move.

My current concern is that the non-M&D votes will be split - across T&C, Y&J, M&M, T&A(!) - so unless the numbers in each camp are significantly different, M&D could still take the win and be vindicated for their/his strategies.

But it’s a game. Of course people go on there to win. Yes, finding love is a bonus, but the entire show is made up of tactics and strategies, with the end goal winning the competition and the money and fame alongside it. People are very niaive if they think people go on there solely to find love and live happily ever after. It’s a competition…..

She’s been awful to the other girl with the exception of her Minions. Why on earth would the comfort her? She’s caused so much upset and takes responsibility for none of it. She’s hoped all of her snide digs have gone under the radar but we have all seen it.
We are seeing different things but watching the same show. That’s fine, we can disagree!

How has Meg caused so much upset? I see her as just cruising along with Dijon. No drama with other peoples relationships.

If you don’t see it then you won’t from anything I say. Take a look at the compilation of awful
mean girl behaviour from Helena and Meg towards Shakira currently doing the rounds on social media. The only reason Meg hasn’t rounded on Helena for her snide remarks is that she has no other friends.
The edit for the awards deliberately gave Helena and Meg a pass - not because there was no material but because for some reason they don’t want to show the other islanders what M and H are really like. There is massive reaction to this from the viewers so I’m hardly in the minority here.

I keep saying this but I guess I need to say it again - we are watching the same show and seeing different things and that’s OK.

Hi Dejon’s mum. What inspired his name?

Only joking, @Livelovebehappy! We just have very different opinions on them. DH (who dips in and out of LI) even commented that all they do on dates, when alone etc is discuss their competition and others’ relationships.

Theremedy · 26/07/2025 09:19

You know what Harry reminds me of?

That one kid at school in the 80s that was so naughty all the time and everyone just knew him as the naughty kid; but looking back now you can be pretty sure that he was ND.

He just has that quality about him that he knows no one gets him so leans into the bad behaviour as part of his personality.

That probably makes no sense….but I know what I mean!

I get it’s a game but I don’t think it’s a typical one requiring strategy like say The Traitors - other than just being a decent person to win (hopefully)! Of course people don’t go on there to find love - at all, I’d argue. Such crap they claim it is the reason. It’s all for sponsorship and because they want a bit of what Molly Mae and Tommy Fury has - and that’s not their relationship but their ability to generate millions.

She seems clued up enough to realise he'll never change, which I think is amazing for a 22 year old. Hope she keeps to her word.

As much as i can’t stand or condone his behaviour he has been one of the talking point s of the series
im the eternal optimist with her rose tinted glasses that he will see the error and begin to make amends with everyone . Guarantee he will be the one Maya will say at least five times in the final that he’s been on a “ journey” which is ultimately what producers want … someone who appears so narcissistic but then has his redemption… I for one will be sad to see him go because love him or hate him he has got everyone talking ! ( yes I know for the wrong reasons before anyone says 🙂

Picoloangel · 26/07/2025 09:42

I did pick up last night that even after the humiliation and the talk with Harry, Helena still didn’t quite represent what had happened and had been said when she relayed it to Shakira. She underplayed what Harry had said about having feelings for Shakira and misquoted him as having said he would “never be with” Shakira but he didn’t say that. He said something closer to “I’m not going to be with her” which is slightly different.

She still can’t quite bear to concede that he still likes Shakira more.

LostaraYil · 26/07/2025 09:50

Toni is the biggest hypocrite in there and she doesn't see it herself. That is what Blu tried to say to her but she shut him down and he messed it up by getting aggressive.

She has bitched about Harry plenty of times with Shakira and then says I don't hate you. This is exactly the kind of fake that she's accusing others of being.
Toni is also often the leader in bitching about the other girls and Shakira looks a bit reluctant to join in with Toni and Yas.
I do see Shakira going back to Harry, she'll feel sorry for him and I think she really does believe she can be the one to change him.

LeaAndDer · 26/07/2025 09:50

CellophaneFlower · 26/07/2025 08:23

I'm guessing the many girls whose heads he's messed with have also taken a bit of a knock mentally as well.

Yes no doubt they have. Previous history of LI contestants and presenter, are proof. I’m sure they have far more stringent help in place these days.

Fedupoftheshits · 26/07/2025 09:51

Harry reminds me of a boy from my youth, it’s quite uncanny. From the lines he feeds women, down to the sexual remarks that make a girl feel special and wanted He treated women like shit and yet there were so many of us that fell for it, he really didn’t care who he hurt, it was all about getting his next fix. Girls ended up falling out over being with him and becoming rivals for his attention.

Funnily enough, this guy is still behaving this way and he’s now mid 40’s, no stable partner just still fucking about. Quite sad really.

We have all met or have known a Harry in real life , … I do think that a pp hit the nail on the head in that he’s got some undiagnosed stuff going on… He’s got a lot of growing up to do … he said something the other night about using humour as a mask to deflect which is very true of some people I’ve met in RL. Think last night having it shown to him how his behaviour has affected two girls who had feelings for him maybe the turning point ( till he gets out that is !!)

Not remotely being naive and thinking it's soley about people finding love etc etc. I know it's a game and there are people I like and others I'm less keen on, so simply assessing the odds of who's likely to win and my feelings about it.

kerstina · 26/07/2025 10:03

Surely I am not the only one who doesn’t view it as a game ? I watch to see couples properly meeting , getting to know each other and falling for each other. I don’t want to watch people faking these emotions.

I think it's all part of the fun, seeing them try and finding out whether things are for real on some level or whether it's faked for the game and the extent to which they admit/are aware of that or whether they stick it out for the cameras/deals, whether people call them on it, whether people realise they can't fake it and pull back, get hurt, catch feelings, one person likes someone more than the other... and every other combination of angles. They and we all know it's a game but it's Love Island so love is involved and really seems to happen for some, but along the way there's a lot of true connections (including friendship) and gameplaying.

I do think finding a genuine (not fucking ‘general’! 😩) relationship would be nice bonus for many contestants but I don’t believe it’s the sole aim for most. They can probably make more money after the show in a couple for a start - and obviously winning it. Perhaps I’m just being cynical but history tells us that people with a non-existent social media following don’t really apply so much. Look at ex contestant Olivia Atwood now - presenting This Morning yesterday. It’s about exposure. Someone with a strong personality and cutting remarks like Toni would be great hosting Liv’s dating show about bad boyfriends. I think it’s called that…

Im the opposite. It's a game and very fake.

Firework73 · 26/07/2025 10:16

I think like others have said it’s all about the career path to being famous… Shakira s very telling comment about being spotted in Aldi might have been tongue in cheek but telling at the same time !

kerstina · 26/07/2025 10:20

What does everyone think about Luca Bish and Grace then ? I see two decent people who wanted a relationship but do most see it as a business partnership?

All I can remember about Luca Bish is the fish thing that Iain Stirling hammered to death in his V/Os and I've got no memory of Grace at all. I'm invested when I watch but very few stay with me beyond the really outsize characters like Ekin-Su and Faye the shouty lass from Devon. Guess I'm not the target audience for their post-show endorsement deals and I tried watching that Mollie-Mae doc and was bored rigid so no interest in the 'happy couples' future lives if it's all beige. So if Bish and Grace are managing to string something along, fair play to them. If they had better options - in love or business - they'd probably ditch each other and go for it, but presumably they don't as yet.

I absolutely agree with everything you have said.

At the end of the day, LI is a reality gameshow. Lots of people for example, have said how much better it would have been if the casa amor boys had been in from the start. Would it though? Don't get me wrong, I adore Cach, Ty and Jamie. I think they are amazing, decent humans but if they had been OG's then it would have been boring. They would have chosen a girl, stuck with her, been respectful, not had their heads turned etc etc and then everyone would say how dull the show was.

We need the Harrys, Dejons, Harrisons, Meg, Toni, Helena and Shakira characters to give us entertainment and drama. Its a TV show!!! Don't we all tune in for the hijinks and flirting, the fall outs and the drama as much as all the lovey dovey stuff, if not more so!?

I definitely do not condone the behaviour of the likes of Harry and Dejon but its been great TV and the series would not have been what it has been without the bad boys, as well as the good boys (bad girls and good girls too)

I have loved this season, we have had a bit of everything and a real great mix of people, love them or hate them, team Meg and Helena or team Shakira and Toni. Its got everyone talking, as has Harry, Dejon and Harrison.

Sometimes I think LI can't win. Everyone couples up quickly and viewers complain its boring and no-one gets their heads turned and are asking for drama. This year they have given them drama galore and everyone is now complaining that there are no real solid couples. 😂

Aquarius1234 · 26/07/2025 11:11

Lol I for one dont care for solid couples.
It's like watching a soap for me. Exciting when a couple gets together initially or has affair. Totally boring straight after.
That's why a lot of the format about LI doesn't work. And as you say has often been boring.

Did Luca and Grace happen on all stars? I didn’t watch that series. I remember him from first time round being a bit annoying and as pp said the fish overkill from Iain.

I don’t ever watch All Stars either but I seem to recall that Luca was called out for being quite controlling when he was couple us with Michael Owen’s daughter whose name now escapes me
