last thread full and canโ€™t see a new one anywhere

About to watch last nights - sat 12th July Episode e4

Was there a point to the domestic abuse that wasnโ€™t storyline? I didnโ€™t quite get what was going on there.

spiderlight · 31/08/2025 14:55

Hopefully we'll find out more about that storyline as well. The husband is a relatively big-name actor, I think, so he'll probably be back in the next couple of episodes.

FurForksSake · 31/08/2025 15:00

Yes I wondered about that, definitely something that will develop.

I thought Flynn was very telling when he was trying to get out of ITU ASAP. Heโ€™s definitely falling apart so we will get that and a big cliff hanger / crescendo coming soon.

I got the impression itโ€™s linked to the โ€œwhose grace was he going to?โ€

He was clearly upset about being in ITU and he doesnโ€™t even know Cassie so why would he even care about sitting next to the bed of a stranger? Nobody would randomly do that unless there was some kind of emotional connection to the scenario.

Iโ€™m still going with the storyline that he has lost a child in the past, and now Iโ€™m think he watched them die in ITUโ€ฆ.. or he had to make the choice to turn their ventilator off or something.

Heโ€™s clearly on the verge of breaking and all these clues over the recent episodes are all going to come together to explain why.

As soon as I saw Iain in the pub with Stevie I thought, โ€œHere comes the affairโ€ฆ.โ€

But then thought it might be a bit much to give Stevie two affair storylines one after the other???

FurForksSake · 31/08/2025 15:58

she did snog him at the wedding didnโ€™t she? Hussy.

I thought it was the case they thought it was a DA case, but there were no signs & she had left the family home & emptied their bank account out. Who was the guy with her translating? I wondered if he was an affair partner.

I suspect Sunnys ds will end up in a&e which will make Rash feel so much better, but I thought it was all wrapped up quite quickly.

daffodilandtulip · 31/08/2025 16:59

Ian and Stevie are much better suited anyway.

She went to kiss him when she was drunk but he stepped back (I think).

MsFelicityLemon · 31/08/2025 17:53

Faith is being a bit righteous isnt she? Also all peed off Iain isn't on siding with her about Jacob, especially when it wasn't just Jacob who had the dodgy morphine.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/09/2025 17:02

Iโ€™m late as always, but I did enjoy it. Poor old rash but Iโ€™m glad SONNY got caught quickly though seems her son has been kidnapped by the thugs.

Also the poor Porter delivery man on the alarm I hope she feels bad because she set him up.

Well not sure about the DA seems a husband wasnโ€™t how he was portrayed.

The man with her the death, the affair partner

FAITH is very righteous, Kettle pot black cause she used to steal medication and of course it wasnโ€™t him

Ehhh !! Where is everyone ?

Very emotional episode ๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ˜ข

FurForksSake · 06/09/2025 22:45

Here!

I think I might need to rewatch it as I feel I missed quite a bit. Lots of interesting stuff but barely a nod to the ED tonight!

why canโ€™t Dylan discharge people?

I had lots of tears. Poor Nicole :(

spiderlight · 06/09/2025 23:45

Poor Nicole. That was a tough one. Difficult for Flynn as well.

Yes, I agree.

Optimist1 · 07/09/2025 06:55

I can just about understand Nicole's attachment to Cassie, but can someone explain why the entire ED is so invested in her case? Flynn taking over the bedside vigil when Nicole was barred from ICU, group hugs when the prognosis was so bad, etc. I feel as though I've missed an episode where she became so important to everyone.

daffodilandtulip · 07/09/2025 08:20

I think they were just trying to make a point that family doesn't have to mean family.

Nicole's story has played out excellently. I like that she just got answers but they didn't go for a sickly sweet happily ever after. (Although I follow her in real life and she posted some spoilers in the week - naughty!).

Maybe her and Ngozi will get back together now everyone has forgotten she's an alcoholic. Has the son gone back to Africa?

I like that Dylan and Stevie had a little conference discussing if Flynn was ok (more because I love Dylan and Stevie than care about Flynn ๐Ÿ˜‚).

MsFelicityLemon · 07/09/2025 08:43

Was an emotional episode; not in the traditional Casualty way though as wasn' due to a new patient case.

Also while watching Jacob rant at rash (woodenly!!) I've decided Jacob and Faith should get together. Both are such self-righteous people with a tendency to rant at people not responsible.

spiderlight · 07/09/2025 10:54

I think Ngozi's son wanted her to go back to Nigeria with him, so that will be another loss for Nicole.

SeptemberIRemember · 08/09/2025 03:01

Why did Ngozi come to the UK in the first place? Was it to earn more money for herself and her son, or because of the attitude to lesbians there?

Could she go back in either case?

spiderlight · 08/09/2025 11:55

I think it was initially portrayed that she was here to earn money to send home for Obi, but later implied that it was also because of homosexuality being illegal, and now that Obi knows, it's going to be very difficult for her to go back, but also difficult for her to let him go without her after he had those fits. I don't know whether he's actually gone now. He might just conveniently disappear and never be mentioned again.

Absolutely!

It's total nonsense and I've been wondering it for weeks!

The idea of ED staff sitting in ITU at the bedside of a patient that they don't even know is ridiculous.

And there's absolutely no way that random ED staff would be sitting in on the MDT about the decision to turn off the ventilator of an ITU patient, especially when they don't even have anything to do with the patient.

As well as normal members of the public, there will be millions of doctors and nurses across the country just cringing/laughing at the concept ๐Ÿ˜‚

But anyway.....back to the real world.......

I found the Nicole storyline really upsetting and she acted it out so well. I think it was really brave to go down the plot line of there being no huge reason why she was put in care and that it was simply because her mother didn't go back for her, as the truth is that there's probably many children in that situation.

It must be so traumatic for a child to be put in care, but for them to learn it was their parents choice to do that, as opposed to Social Services actually having removed them, must be horrendous. I can't even imagine how any fostered/adopted child could make sense of that.

I really felt for Nicole and her acting was brilliant. Her portrayed the pain so well.

FurForksSake · 09/09/2025 11:59

Didnโ€™t Flynn say he was the patient advocate or something? He had a specific role which was why he was there and attended.

Yeah I get that, but why did they have Dylan and Siobhan there?

And then Siobhan sitting all of the A&E nurses down in the staff room to break the 'sad news' to them about the the prognosis.... it's all just so cringe. I don't imagine they do that for every single patient that ever appears in the ED so like the original poster said, what was so important about this patient that everyone has such a vested interest and emotional connection to her? Why does EVERYONE seem to know who she is? I don't even remember her being in that many episodes or even interacting with many of the staff?

I mean we all know Casualty isn't the most realistic of shows but this storyline has really pushed the boundaries. It's just weird.
