Christ that was a disaster. Laurel and Hardy perform a lumbar puncture.

hoarahloux · 01/03/2026 00:34

Maybe because it's local to me but I don't like that they used all the details of the "fattest man having a window removed to get him out" story that was used by rags like the Sun to shame a 30 year old man so deeply that he never left the house again and died at 33.

The lumbar puncture debacle, honestly why are they both still there. Matty initiated and encouraged it, Kim gave dangerously wrong instructions. Nicole was rude but had it right.

I think no major traumas at night is the right decision for the ED. Maybe they can work back up, and obviously St James is going to have a crisis at some point and rely on Holby to save the day, which they will.

I'd love a surprise St James episode. The other major ED in Holby must have emergencies, ambulances stacked outside, grumpy consultants. What's so good about them, is what I want to know.

Anyone for a lumbar puncture ?

No thanks, resident doctors performing spinal fluid extraction by means of google helped by someone whose eye sight is a bit iffy.

Don't think I'll ever go to hospital again after tonights episode.

Kim's eyesight is fine - she was having a dizzy episode related to her eating disorder and over-exercising.

theflat · 01/03/2026 10:19

Why have they stared saying โ€˜St Jamesโ€™ when itโ€™s always be pronounced โ€˜St Jamesesโ€™? Iโ€™m finding that mildly irritating.

Very sadly, itโ€™s a not uncommon occurrence. A failure of community health services and mental health services means that similar events happen regularly throughout the country and so I doubt they needed to use a single specific event. I appreciate though, that it was mainly about contrasting with Kimโ€™s situation.

I was more annoyed with the โ€œwe can help you to get healthyโ€ dialogue, which is Holbywood movie fantasy.

In a field which has had some spectacularly strong competition in recent years, Kim is scooping up all the wins this season for the โ€œNew Casualty character: Could you BE any more annoying?โ€ award.

Surely noone will ever wrestle the life time achievement award in that category out of Faith's hands.

Oh I don't know Jacob definitely has to be in with a chance as well as Matty.

I seem to recall Jacob started as quite likable and has sort of grown into his annoyingness. Nurse Jacob was nowhere near as annoying as paramedic Jacob. He should be up for the opposite award the Casualty character who proves week week by that he CAN be more annoying award.

Very painful to watch. I really hope that doesnโ€™t happen IRL re lumbar punctures. I mean first year residents looking at their phones for instructions like theyโ€™re assembling an IKEA bookcase!!

If I was that woman Iโ€™d be suing their arse.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/03/2026 15:48

Hopefully she wonโ€™t be paralysed

MsFelicityLemon · 01/03/2026 18:49

A lot going on in that episode. I think the list for support at the end was the longest I've heard

Internaut · 02/03/2026 00:27

Betcha Siobhan's attacker will turn up A&E sometime. Perhaps they'll perform a castration without anaesthetic.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/03/2026 19:40

Back tonight

It was on last week so not sure why youโ€™re saying its โ€œbackโ€ ๐Ÿค”

FurForksSake · 07/03/2026 22:06

Bloody hell itโ€™s dramatic tonight.

LIZS · 07/03/2026 22:34

Noone seemed to care that Iain had wrecked the ambulance and abandoned it!

daffodilandtulip · 07/03/2026 22:59

Awards for the nonsense tonight! Wandering into a house to resus a baby. Jan not sending an ambulance. Taking a patient to a closed trauma centre. Those two clowns still working. Siobhanโ€™s personality transplant. Pandering to the annoying new one crying in the toilet. The mother chatting Rash up. Reeeeaaallllyyyy?

LIZS · 07/03/2026 23:08

Wheelchair racing?

purpleme12 · 07/03/2026 23:19

Well, that was a lot

purpleme12 · 07/03/2026 23:20

@daffodilandtulip why do you think Siobhan's had a personality transplant?

hoarahloux · 07/03/2026 23:33

I rarely cry at this show these days but the exhausted mother running over her own baby made me weep.

"There isn't a shift I don't think about quitting." Makes me feel better about thinking that every day of my much less vital job.

Watch Stevie try to be a good mentor but fuck it up once again. Stevie please just give people a moment to speak before you decide they won't. Poor Kim.
