fgs, nobody has accused him of assaulting anyone.

ShoAndSew · 28/08/2025 13:43

yes. I said all that. I don't need people repeating my posts back to me in an "easier to digest" format.

I literally said it was a great challenge because of the techniques. But i wish they had left Grayson "pervert" Perry out of it.

I don't know how many more times i need to say this.

and yy to pp mentioning Keith Haring. You could have done a 2d thing like Caz did, with a black outline that extended past the head and down the legs!

I beg your pardon? Why are you speaking so rudely?

LittleBitofBread · 28/08/2025 13:55

ShoAndSew · 28/08/2025 13:45

i think i may be like her were i ever to appear though. The reality of being on the show, compared to watching it at home and (in her case thinking "i can sew better than that") and then confronting the pretty challenging filming schedule must be a bit of a shock.

Yes, sure, I get that the filming and time restraints would be hard to truly appreciate in advance. But I think they've had 'art week' or similar before, and it's clear if you watch a few episodes that originality is praised and rewarded.

You put him in the same category as those that had.

I'm not commenting on this any more I'm only here to discuss the sewing.

I am Gaynor's age and I wouldn't have had the first idea about pop art. I would have looked it up, though, before I decided on a m-t-m.

She said she'd thought of edging the shapes with black when it was suggested, but had decided she wouldn't have time. On the day she did, though. There's probably some suitable binding in the haberdashery supplies, she could have used some of the time she had at the end to bind at least one shape.

Yes agree about the black edging that could have been sewn in an orange thread.

tinyspiny · 28/08/2025 12:59

Are you the thread police . This thread is about a show and if someone on that show is affecting your enjoyment of it I think I’m entitled to say that .

I was merely requesting and not demanding. So no policing from me.

NebulousSadTimes · 28/08/2025 15:11

As far as I am aware he has never been accused of assaulting anybody

He has no need to assault anybody for them to be unwilling participants in his fetish. That does not make his behaviour okay.

I wonder if she was trying to lose?

soupyspoon · 28/08/2025 18:06

I remember seeing that Grace and Perry on a comedy type show, it was the Irish comedian with the beard who does silly songs, cant remember his name

It was a series of 4 programmes and I wish they had done some more but basically he took his friends or heroes, whichever category the person fell into, on a bike ride.

He took GP on ths, apparently didnt know him and he was one of his heroes, and GP was a total arsehole on it, rude, dismissive, unfunny.

I thought I bet that bloke regrets taking him with him.

David O'Doherty?

soupyspoon · 28/08/2025 18:30

Thats him, really like him. Seems very gentle. Was great with the other people he invited along.

I think I saw some of that series, possibly with Richard Ayoade and Mel Giedroyc. He did come across well on it, not sure if I've seen him on anything else.

ETA - I think DS may have read some of his books when he was younger - about Dr Noel Zone I think.

Ahhh, I may have seen him on 8/10 cats does Countdown, now I come to think about it...

LittleBitofBread · 28/08/2025 12:34

I don't think his art is all that, personally.

I've seen some of his pots up close. I liked them. He and his wife did a nice little series of programmes. I think it was early on in the Covid days.

Why would you wonder about that? It's a sewing competition. Focus for me is on the finished products. Stuart was eliminated. Rightly so.

I agree that he was rightly eliminated. I'm just suggesting that Gaynor is deliberately making simple pieces so that she can leave.

placemats · 28/08/2025 19:04

How do you know Gaynor is doing that deliberately? She hasn't changed her MO throughout the series.

Grayson's Art Club. That was a lovely show and yes, it was while we were all stuck at home in the pandemic. He came across very well on that.
I like him less on some of his other TV shows. One of them was him meeting people from different walks of life and making art in response to it. On one he met some finance/banking types and was very prejudiced about them; clearly loathed them for their money and their unapologeticness about wanting to make it and could not see beyond his preconceptions.
The pot he produced was a phallic shape and plastered with banknotes Hmm Hugely unoriginal and unimaginative. He hadn't even made an attempt to get under the skin of this world and the people.

I agree with @Floweruser. I don't think she's looked happy or enthusiastic for the last two episodes. She often has time left before the end so she isn't stretching herself.

MsFelicityLemon · 28/08/2025 19:55

I'm sorry to see Stuart go. Not due to skill but just because I really liked him.

Gaynor will surely go next week - she is a very neat sewer but at this stage other things will start separating them.

Kit's m2m deserved garment of the week but hus transformation did not deserved 2nd place.

Queenage · 28/08/2025 19:59

When Kit tried his transformation on, I did think no way will that fit you, it’s tiny!

Piffle11 · 28/08/2025 21:35

Lovely photo of Caz with Dan and Stuart she shared on IG
