I'm looking forward to it.

I’ve got a couple of wrap dresses. Very comfy.

CaptainMyCaptain · 29/07/2025 21:18

It's not really something I'd wear.

Pancakeflipper · 29/07/2025 21:18

Glendora - very Boden.

My husband has just asked me where they get the sample garments for the pattern challenge...the one on the mannequin that Patrick and Esme discuss right at the start.

I never really thought about it before: i assume the show have someone hired to run up the pattern challenge each week?

Anyone know?

Probably one of the same people who help thread the overlockers and cut out the paper pattern pieces.

My least favourite parts of sewing - toiles, tracing and cutting out the paper pattern pieces and threading the overlocker.

Poor Kit. No good to have you model go off sick halfway through the made to measure.

I suppose it's one of those words you don't know how to pronounce if you've only ever seen it written down. Or is it American?

I'm guessing they were going by Amy Lame?

Who is Rob the replacement?

LIZS · 29/07/2025 21:56

Glendora’s execution was poor and unfinished

Pancakeflipper · 29/07/2025 21:57

Well done to Caz.

ChompandaGrazia · 29/07/2025 21:58

Shocked at the GOTW choice. They wanted to hate it.

I wondered who the new bloke was. The dress wasn't very flattering. Longer would have been better.

It was well made and quite clever but would have looked better without the blouse.

I didn't like any of them really.

placemats · 29/07/2025 22:04

So sorry to see Glendora go but she's right, it's stiff competition. My goodness Dorothy meets Versace was a winner for me - fabulous outfit and Caz deserved outfit of the week.

ChompandaGrazia · 29/07/2025 21:10

Yay. History bit is back!

Yes noted and loved!

PuppyMonkey · 29/07/2025 22:07

I’m sure it was very well made and everything but, Lordy, GOTW was horrible imho.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 29/07/2025 22:07

Damn, I keep forgetting. I'm watching it on iPlayer now.

Dan reminds me of someone, I can't think who, it's right on the edge of my brain.

I'm not a fan of any of the icons depicted this week. Though I do like a well made wrap dress but would never attempt to make one - that was a hard challenge so early on. Well done to them all.

I think he looks vaguely thuggish but I don't know why I think that. I'm sure he's not and is actually very nice.

He seems nice but for some reason he's triggering the Trainspotting parts of my brain, but that might just be the accent.

I don’t understand the waste / largely unwearable garments especially when Patrick’s company stands for the very opposite of that. They really don’t need to have a theme every week. I vaguely remember and would love to see the very old TV programme House Party - they did sewing, but stuff people would wear…. Not sure I’ll watch the rest of it.

Yes. I think that might be it.

Just had a look at IMDB, he's not unlike Spud

Agree with @pastabest re Minerva. That blue print fabric was around a lot last year!

I'm still very impressed by this lot. Their stretch sewing skills are pretty sound , so many contestants in the past have lacked that skill. Even the lower end wrap dresses were very wearable.

I'm happy for Caz , but Yasmin's m2m was my favourite. I had a big grin on my face when I saw her creation. It was so good.

Glendora did so well , all it takes is one tricky week and you're out. She's clearly a very knowledgeable sewist.

Another great episode and I still have no idea who will win.

OrangeAndPistachio · 29/07/2025 22:14

Does anyone else think that Stuart and Patrick look alike?

CaptainMyCaptain · 29/07/2025 22:15

I think Kit is a front runner.
